Paranoid Android 5.1 Bootloop - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I updated to PA 5.1 when I got the notification and now I am stuck in a boot loop. My device is unrecognized when plugging into my computer, even when using ADB. I'm looking for a way to save my data (pictures, videos, apps, etc) while restoring my phone.
After awhile, I don't know what happened, but I tried backing up my files through TWRP and my phone booted up with everything wiped. I got a notification saying superuser needed to be downloaded (even though I had it downloaded it before) and went through the steps, now I'm stuck in the boot loop again. At this point I just want to get my phone up and running again as I think my data is all gone...
Someone said that I may have a big issue as when I open up cmd and run "adb devices" nothing shows up, any help is appreciated thanks in advanced!
Also, I do not mind a fresh wipe if necessary.
P.S. I'm a total noob with this stuff so yeah...I may need the simple stuff explained as well lol

[Q] Xoom issues

I recently purchased a used and unlocked wifi xoom. I noticed off the bat that the device would delete any and all apps/files saved onto whenever it was reset or crashed (happened frequently) I figured I should do a factory resent and wipe everything I had on it. the reset didnt do anything. all my contacts are still there, my emails, my wifi passwords etc etc.
that bugged me so I decided to download fastboot and the vanilla OS directly from motorola and erase it all and reflash/relock from there. I went through all the steps and both my xoom and the cmd window said everything erased and reinstalled correctly. no errors or fails there. But again when I "fastboot reboot" it went back to the same faulty system that was installed before I wiped everything.
needless to say im frustrated and was hoping to get some sage advice from this community as to what i am missing or why nothing is working properly. Thanks in advance.

[Q] I think my XOOM is possessed, HELP!

I want to start out stating that i am very familiar with android's but have never experienced anything like this.
The first thing I tried was to oem unlock it from fastboot, which it claimed to do however i am skeptical as nothing else seems to stick, attempted to install cwm and TWRP neither with any success, even though it says the action was performed successfully.
The strangest thing is that i deleted all the apps on the device from settings/app, but when i rebooted my device they all came back!
All i wanted to do was do a factory reset, which also claims to finish successfully but after rebooting from recovery mode, i am back where i started.
App Updates also do not work as every time the tablet reboots, the apps have to be re-updated.
Its like the tablet is stuck in a read only state and when it reboots all changes are lost.
Like i said, this thing is acting weird and i have no idea where to go from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
[Update: Tried RSDLite, same results, Result is PASS however after system reboot everything is the same.]
Another update, tried downloading HWI69 which is the stock rom, tried to fastboot each image but nothing sticks even though it seems to say it writes it to the system. I'm starting to think the NAND memory is locked up and cannot be written to anymore if that's even a possibility.

[Q] Any tips on how to unbrick my phone?

Somehow my phone is bricked, although I still am not sure if it's because I actually did something wrong or it just decided to brick itself out of spite. Here's the rundown of events:
This past August I rooted my phone and installed cm-10.2. I made a backup of the stock rom beforehand (which for some reason is dated from 1970). Since then there have been a bunch of bugs, but nothing super major.
Today I decided to upgrade to cm-11, so I backed up everything important to my PC and used the auto-updater. I got a Status 7 error and the installation didn't complete, and I got stuck in a reboot loop that kept returning me only to the bootloader. I read on another forum that the problem was probably my CWM version (6.0.1.2 instead of 6.0.1.3). Anyway, I tried restoring one of my backups, but the bootloader said the folder was empty and no backups were found. I ended up reinstalling cm-10.2 and gapps from the same zip files I used months ago. This let me properly boot up my phone, but for some reason the google play store still wasn't working. I did a simple reboot and it started working again, so I downloaded rom manager and updated cwm. Rebooted into bootloader, made another rom backup, and tried again to install cm-11. Same error, install aborted. This time, however, my backups magically reappeared (along with an extra mystery backup that had today's timestamp but was ~10 hours in the future), so I restored the original (1970, stock rom). Things boot up fine.
I decide to try installing cm-11 one more time because at this point I assume that if it fails again I can safely restore a backup or at the very least reinstall cm-10.2. It fails again, but this time, when I try restoring any of my cm-10.2 backups I get a DM5 mismatch error and it immediately stops. Restoring 1970 is different, it starts recovering but then halfway through says "error restoring /system" or something like that. So now I'm left with no choice but to reinstall cm-10.2 from the same zip file again. Only this time, booting up only shows the cyanogenmod logo forever. I go back into bootloader and my backups are once again suddenly not recognized. I make a new backup of my broken phone to see if it will make the folder show up. I reboot, and now that new backup is the only one that does show up. Trying to restore gives me a DM5 error. I've now tried reinstalling cm-10.2 several times, but my phone will never get past the cyanogenmod logo. I'm out of ideas for how to get my phone to work.
My questions:
1. Any idea how to unbrick my phone? I have not done any factory resetting because I was worried it would erase my backups and also I don't really see how it would help.
2. Does anyone have a backup image I could use? I don't have mine stored anywhere but on my phone's internal SD, but I could maybe try loading one from my external SD if I had one.
3. What did I do wrong here? From my viewpoint it seems I basically tried the same thing twice and got different results. Is there something I'm missing?
4. If I get a new photon q, how the hell should I go about installing cm-11? I know people have gotten it to work before. Which version are you using?
Thanks for any and all help
I'm guessing you don't have a backup of stock?
Have you tried restoring stock everything using RSD Lite?
Also, how long have you let the phone sit? If the phone requires a 'fsck' (file system check) on you /data partition, you could be waiting for an hour or more at the boot animation.
I do not have any backups stored externally. I'm not familiar with RSD lite, could you explain and/or link? I have only left my phone for about half an hour at the most before hard rebooting it. I'll let it sit for a couple hours and see if it does anything different.

Nexus 5 not starting

Urgent help reqd
randomly my nexus 5 restarted
google came on screen and now only those four animated circles are showing up and the phone doesnt go further
went in bootloader but cant wipe cache, cant format, or anything else from there.
usb debuggng must be off as far as i remember
trying to flash through sdk manager. have downloaded image. but stops at "waiting for device" in cmd and it doesnt go any further than that. even tried doing it manually through cmd.
when the phone is connected it is showing the drivers but it isnt installng and can see the yellow exclamation.
manually downloaded the drivers and tried installing manually but shows drivers are up to date.
uninstalled driver and reinstalled but same issue. it is connected to usb 2.0.
now how do i get it to work?
I have tried all the options i could search for on this forum but none of them solved my issue.
Is the bootloader unlocked?
How do i check that?
Ok got it
It is locked
How do i unlock?
I checked some unlocking bootloader threads but they all require usb debugging to be on.
My phone is not starting at all so i cannot do that
How do i go about it now
Tried nexus root toolkit. It isnt detecting the device.
Unlocking will wipe you device.
Google themselves have a guide on how to flash, not sure why you are using toolkits.
Also, you will wipe your device, if you haven't already. Make sure you have the right drivers, make sure you get the device to come up under "fastboot devices"
Already tried all methods mentioned by google or xda.
If you read my initial post my phone is not getting detected as well but shows installing drivers when connected but the installation fails.
Manually install the correct drivers.
Tried that but i get the error that you already have latest drivers. But its not detecting the phone
Try removing the drivers and reinstalling
Also, try different USB ports and cables.
Did all of that a number of times. Still no luck
Other phones are getting connected and detected just fine.

Hi all, i have a similar problem
this morning my n5 boots into "optimizing apps", but stops when reach around 15/20 apps and reboot (3 or 4 times)...
Now, only keeps in android animation like useruser12.
I can see my data in TWRP, battery 95%...
I wipe cache/dalvik... nothing
I reflash the kernel (ElementalX 6.17), still nothing
Any ideas?
PS: latest news. After make a backup, I made a factory reset and restore a system-boot-cache partition from old backup. Now the phone boots but i hate lose all my data xD. I want try to solve my problem using my "corrupted" backup for avoid losing data. If that fails, I can always restore this functional backup. Any ideas again?
Used the nexus root toolkit.managed to unlock bootloader but immediately the device reboots and goes into the bootloop again.
Tried the flash stock + unroot function as well which detected my factory image and everything went smooth till it came back to unlocking the bootloader and rebooting the device after that and again went into the bootloop
Though i have installed the drivers, on reboot windows 7 automatically starts installing the mtp usb device driver but fails. Manually downloaded the drivers and installed as well.
Still its not worked and whatever i do it comes back and get stuck at the bootloop.
Any expert can give a solution? Thanks
After unlocking the bootloader, does the bootloader relock when the phone is rebooted? If it does, the memory chip is defective.
Phone doesnt reboot completely.goes into a loop after the google logo and doesnt go further.
If i switch off the phone midway here without it booting up and then restart the bootloader then its locked again.
But what i read was that the process of complete reboot needs to finish and i need to turn on usb debugging. So is it because of that the bootloader locks again?
Anyways, this what im facing

Lucky that you could do a factory reset. I wasnt even able to do that from the bootloader.

Sorry, i did it via TWRP.
If the bootloader relocks itself upon reboot, it's the memory chip that is damaged.

Stuck in bootloop, TWRP crashes

Hi,
Since yesterday, my phone suddenly went into a bootloop (I wasn't even using it, but it suddenly started vibrating every half a minute or so). I'm able to get into fastboot mode, but from there if I try to boot into TWRP, it just shows the splash screen for a bit, and then crashes and reboots again. I should say that this is my brother's old phone he gave to me, so I'm not exactly sure what he's done to it, and I'm also not particularly familiar with Android stuff myself.
Is there anything I could try to retrieve data from the device? I've managed to run a different recovery img (included in here: https://onepluscommunityserver.com/list/Unbrick_Tools/OnePlus_One/), which allowed me to use ADB from my MacBook, and from there I tried to use the adb backup command, but this just gives me "Now unlock your device and confirm the backup operation..." without actually showing anything on the phone.
And even if I can't recover anything, is there anything I could try to bring the device back into a working state?
since your fastboot is working, you can try downloading the bacon roottoolkit and restore stock rom, before doing that install all the drivers like it mentions in the app. https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934555863;
Let me know if this works
