[Q] Google Now with Bluetooth - echo back message before send? - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I've noticed that when my S6 is connected to my Bluetooth headset, Google Now will echo back a message before asking to send it. For example, if I say "text Bob", Google Now says "What's your message?", I respond "Hello Bob". Google Now responds something like "You message is Hello Bob. Do you want to send it?" The same thing happens when setting a reminder via Google Now on Bluetooth - it will echo back the reminder before asking me to save it. My question is this - is that a feature of Google Now or something Samsung added (I have S-Voice disabled)? I've looked online and can find no information on this feature. The reason I'm curious is because I've found that the echo back feature does NOT work when I'm running a car mode dashboard app along with the Bluetooth. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Question about Google Voice App?

Hi,
I tend to have a lot of callers who say they get a message stating "please state your name so google voice can try to find your caller".
This gives me a ton of messages from people who leave me a 60 second long message of nothing.
Is there a way to make google voice just ring my phone instead of giving me the option of screening my calls?
Thanks,
Rich
Settings>Calls>Call Screening?
I kept looking in the app & realized you meant on the website itself.
Thats great! Hopefully my clients can start leaving messages.

Google Now offline

How can I get Google Now/Search to work offline? I've got Google voice typing to work offline through settings > language & input methods but I'm unable to use it with Google Now. Anyone have any ideas?
ex: I'd like to just say "Open Settings" to be able open the settings app without being online...
I'm struggling with this issue as well. Sometimes when I'm traveling, I'll be in an area with no data connection or WiFi. I can say "OK Google" to activate the voice search...however, any command I give it (i.e. Play 'artist') is met with "Can't reach Google at the moment. You can still use the mic to place calls. Say "Call" and a name or number." I know the offline voice recognition works, because I can turn off my WiFi and data and use the voice input to write text. I have Xposed installed and I tried the "GoogleOfflineVoice" module, but I'm still met with the same message.
Does anyone have any ideas of a work around for this? This is particularly frustrating because I used the Google Search API and Tasker to automate a lot of my phone usage while I'm in the car. However, if I don't have a data connection, it no longer functions.
If you don't have a data connection it's never going to work. It has to go to Google servers where the database is and all the heavy lifting takes place

Voice dial fail

Hi guys
Just wandering if anyone can throw some light on the reason my gear s3 refuses to voice dial, it understands my request no issues and displays the command on the screen
" Call dave" for example, the s3 hears it, displays it correctly
there is one contact with dave who has 1 number assigned
the s3 thinks for a second or 2 then displays " i did not get that" or " who do you want to call" it simply refuses to read contacts
stupid thing, it just displayed everything it needed but it just refuses to work, initially i thought contacts would be transferred to the watch, now i realise its a server thing but this has been like this now for a week since i got it so i cant see it being a server down issue
The phone i am using is a S7 edge with latest update and it is not running anything other than standard firmware and a square home from end, which is the w10 look
i tried resetting the watch but no joy, i tried changing the watch language to US no joy, checked the phone is syncing contacts to samsungs storage
and doing a search on the net actually brings up very little info on this issue
has anyone got any thoughts, here in the Uk having a device that voice dials whilst driving is a real must, i have BT in the car but dialing it is a pain so the watch would be a real help... if it would freakin work
TBH i wish i could use Cortana for voice assist, but that aint gona happen
The more i try different voice commands the more the issue points to lack of sync with contacts... what am i missing ?? just tried to send a text via voice and the s3 watch cant find any contacts
Hmm i had an almost whilst messing with the thing just now, i changed language from English auto to just English... now when i ask it to call a name the watch displays ( Contacts syncing ) that is as far as i have got, it still refuses to dial anyone, and checking my contacts in the watch they are all there
i have a similar issue, when I say call XXX, its then says "syncing contacts" and sites there, If manually go into contacts and call someone its fine, why it decides it needs to sync contacts at this point I dont know, why, must be a bug.

Question "I'm not seeing a WhatsApp number for that contact" google assistant

Sometimes I get the message "I'm not seeing a WhatsApp number for that contact" when I try to use assistant to send a whatsapp message, but not always. Sometimes everything works good and sometimes I get the error.
The same thing happens when I call someone with assistant.
When it's working:
Right after rebooting the watch or turning off and on bluetooth.
When everything is working good in google app on phone > Settings -> Assistant -> devices -> galaxy watch 4, it shows "connected" and I can use assistant for commands with contacts
When it's not working:
After a while (minutes or hours) in google app the status changes to "disconnected", I don't know why.
Important: even when it shows "disconnected" the watch is still fully paired and everything works fine, notifications, calls, and so on.. even assistant is still working, except for commands with contacts like "call dad" or "send a whatshapp to John"..
Any fix? Thanks
Hi. Well I tried this silly way of forcing watch assistant to connect to google. Ask him to show you something in google like in your drive or something. Like your most recent photo. Even if you don't have anything there, it will connect to Google to look for it, and after that you can commence with send whatsup.

Google assistant not working properly with whatsapp (Dasaita PX6)

Hi, sorry I have a problem getting google assistant to work with whatsapp via a Dasaita PX6 android car tablet.
Basically I can't dictate the message while I'm driving, this happens:
- activate the assistant with "ok google"
- I say: "I want to send a whatsapp message"
- the assistant says: "ok, who do you want to send the message to?"
- I say: (example) "to Giulia"
- the assistant says: "there are no whatsapp numbers for giulia"
It's as if he can't access the address book, but in reality if I try to send whatsapp messages by writing them by hand I can easily, so I think it's a problem with the assistant.
Could this be fixable?
