This video helped me, I did the exact same thing a few months ago! Hope this helps, I know how frightening it is.

Hey, I got you. I had the exact same problem yesterday... It was infuriating.
So boot to TWRP, plug your phone into your computer, then in TWRP go to advanced and hit enable MTP. This should allow your computer to access the G3's files after you've connected it. If you can't, google for the LG PC drivers for your model (it's easy).
Here's the zip you need to place on your device:
http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G3/flash2/LG_G3_Flash2FixStuckRecovery.zip
Then just flash it and you're golden!

Citizen Insane, I think I love you! I was at my wits end. I literally stopped trying to fix it and decided when the at&t store opened I would go buy a new phone. Then I saw I had a new message on this post. Your fix absolutely worked like a charm and REALLY saved my bacon! I am fairly new to XDA but you saved me $700 for the cost of the new phone and I would really like to thank you! Is there anything I can do to thank you (like donate $20 to you or something)? Please let me know, man. I don't know what I would have done without your help! HUGE THANKS!!!

@Jaison33056 Which OTA update caused the boot loop, the KitKat 4.4.2 D85010F or the one for Lollipop? If the one for Lollipop you may have inadvertently found a way to have a custom recovery installed with stock Lollipop firmware! Sorry if this is already general knowledge. Just got my D850 LG G3 and trying to learn all there is to have it running a custom recovery with a rooted stock Lollipop ROM ).

The OTA bootloop was caused by the 5.0 Lollipop update. After using the fix from citizen insane it was clear that I was still on 4.4.2 KitKat. The phone quickly attempted to force me to update to lollipop again, so again I was forced to use citizen insane fix again, with the addition of shutting off OTA updates after the fix was completed through the hidden menus in the phone app. Then I quickly flashed Cyanogenmod 12 nightlies to avoid the dreaded OTA update yet again! What a pain in the ass, but on the bright side I absolutely love CM 12! My phone has never performed better. Thanks for everyone's help on XDA!
Hey Jaison does your picture messaging work after flashing CM12? Mine stopped working but texting and phone calls still work.
Today i get an update OTA
i downloaded it and wanted to update, but in the Update-Screen, the progress failed and my phone reboot
i have rooted my flex2 (h955) and the software recognized it and throw out an error
is there any way to update?
i searched the problem in google, but google doesnt found anything and in the G3 forum stands, that root is no problem with stock recovery and ich have stock recovery
You might have to unroot before doing the OTA update.

There doesn't seem to be one available for the Flex 2 yet on their main site.

could anyone post links to the tool/s to update the sprint flex 2 please. i too got the OTA update and failed, most likely because im rooted. but anyway im just trying to update. also anyone also with sprint and updated notice any performance differences or better signal after update.?

Which one did you get? LG PC Suite 4.3.41? Where from? I can't find it on the LG site for our phones.
count me in the same boat :/
have the sprint version of the phone and woke up this morning to a prompt that there was an android update. with my brain not being awake yet i went ahead and told it to update, not thinking about root preventing the update. So went about my morning routine and came back and the phone was booted back up, but obviously the update didn't apply as i was still on ZV4, not ZV5. when checking for update it says there are no updates available.
can anyone help me/us out and post some steps for how to unroot and reapply the update? i'm good at following directions, just too new to this stuff to be able to figure it out on my own

anyone have any tips on forcing the OTA to download again?i've disabled SU, rebooted, and factory reset and it still says i'm up to date when checking for an update. or is there a way to download the OTA and update the phone some other way?
really want to check out this update and see the improvements, just can't get it to go after trying to update this morning while still rooted

I tested all the files and I have no message and signal works perfectly.
woke up this morning to the prompt that there was an update available again, not sure why it does it overnight but won't when i manually check for update..... anyway, i disabled SU, rebooted, then started the update and watched it this time and in the middle of the upgrade it came up with the android guy on his back and it said error. after a bit it restarted again and was back to where i started, no update.
so it looks like i need to unroot. would appreciate any help on how to unroot so i can apply the OTA, thanks!!!!!
Here with a sprint flex 2. First time I tried ota update I was rooted and it failed. A few days later the update notification showed up again, went ahead and unrooted, tried the update and still failed. I'm not sure root has anything to do with update failing now. Could be something else. So far I haven't read about anyone successfully completing update and reporting it.
I was getting the same error message about being rooted even after un rooting the device.
I installed the lg pc suite and upgraded to 10d that way and then re rooted using the method on this forum.
It looks like there may be a flag thats triggered once u root that doesnt get removed even if u unroot it.
ugh! i can't even get my phone to connect to pc suite to try and "fix" it so i can attempt the update

Check it out in the Play Store!

Just root your lollipop g2, here's an informative video on it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i22O9VHGi3k , then install Autorec from Playstore and then you'll get TWRP!

am trying this method but when put in the last code its taken a while to do anything,so am wondering is it normal for it to take that long or am i doing something wrong?
When using one click ver 1.3 when it reaches 90% in download mode, wait a couple of mins then pull the usb cable out of phone while in download mode. You should reboot into Android upgrading SU !
Which rooting apps are u using?,is it for d800 variant?
yeah the OneClickRoot works. I was on KK 4.4.2, CloudyFlex 2.8 and decided to update to 5.0.2 just for the bootloader, modem and other stuff. So, I started backing up my "SD Card" to my laptop, using the TOT file method to flash via LG Flashtool to 20c, then rooting with TowelRoot, updating to 20y and finally, upgrading to 30f. But, just for testing, I factory reset my unit.
Then the quest to find a suitable root method began, tried towel, io and stomp but didn't work for me. Then I found this "OneClickRoot" that looked good. I d/l'ed v1.3 but it took forever in Download mode. Then, i decide to try v1.2 (Console version) and it worked PERFECTLY, highly recommended.
I just got this device (D800) with the intention of rooting and installing CM12. It came with the latest version of KK which I knew I had to downgrade to a version of JB with an unlocked boatloader. But my phone upgraded to Lollipop on its own before I had the chance to do anything. I assume the boatloader is still locked with the latest Lollipop firmware. It's nice there is a way to root Lollipop but will I be able to run CM12 and custom kernels somehow?
this is awesome, THANKS!
No go for me..

I'm guessing that you re referring rooting, right? In the console version, it says that you have to unplug the phone, turn it off and plug it again pressing Vol+ (Vol Up) to enter download mode.
After that, it will continue and eventually you'll get to something that says Special Command ENTER something,, then you have to press Ctrl-C to finish.
Hope this helps

Thanks for posting this guapinoy. I recently got a new AT&T G2 that I OTA updated to Lollipop (using an AT&T sim). I followed the picture tutorial linked to that youtube video (http://highonandroid.com/android-smartphones/how-to-root-lg-g-flex-2-g2-g3-on-lollipop/) and was able to root successfully. Installed TWRP afterwards using the autorec app.
I'm having problems with that recovery that this thing installed, it doesn't work for flashing, just for backups... Tried to install other recovery (philz and the official twrp) or rom (liquidsmooth) and i always get the message "error executing updater binary in zip "zip name" "....
Also installed the kitkat baseband, but the error was still there...
I got a boot loop now, at first the ROM worked without recovery, now the recovery works but the ROM won't boot. I can't flash anything due to the same erro .
Help!!!
Hi.. Everyone I'm new to the thread I flashed Blisspop 3.2 to my lg g2 and everytime I bootbit up I keep experience gapps error such as unfortunately google play services has stopped and I can't access anything without that error popping up my LG g2 is the AT&T model (D800) can someone please give me a copy of autorec d800 for lollipop so I can use to try flash twrp on the phone or will the old kit kat autorec work Please I'm in serious need
EDIT: Looks like its not MM but some security update, so that sucks but I'd still like to know if anyone successfully got back to stock from rooted 5.1.1
Hi everyone.
I'm trying to find a way to restore my H950 to stock and completely remove any trace of root so that I can install an OTA update. I have tried installing the update with LG PC Suite and LGMobile Support Tool. Both of them say that I am on the latest software (5.1.1 H950v11?). It has been so long since I rooted it that I can't remember what method I used. If anyone has any idea how to flash it back to stock, I'd appreciate the help!
More Details:
I have an H950 (US AT&T) rooted on 5.1.1 and I just started getting an update yesterday saying that I have a system update available. When I tried to download and update, the phone I got an error while the update was still at 0%. When the phone restarted I got the "This phone is suspected in rooting..." Error.
I have tried following this thread [Guide] LG G Flex 2 Stock Firmware (Go Back to Stock) KDZ & TOT Method
but it didn't work. I got the flash utility to run but I still had SuperSU after it flashed my phone and the update still failed due to "Suspect in rooting."
I also tried following this thread [Tool] Easy Restore/Unroot Tool for LG G Flex 2 [09/15/15]!!
but I could not get it to work. The utility just hangs at "Working..."
Anyone successfully used either of these methods on an H950 with 5.1.1 to get back to stock?
Thanks in advance!

CSE flash? Sorry I didn't see that in your guide for the H950 on the AT&T network. I'm looking at your guide and not seeing the CSE Flash unless the LG Tool is the CSE FLash? I had the same problem with SuperSU left over and not able to update. I tried the default Upgrade method, then got a minios OS screen on the the Board method.

It's entirely possible that I am technologically inept, but I am having the exact same issue as the OP. I followed your guide (which was very helpful) for the TOT method, and there is no option to use CSE flash, or at least it's not discussed in the instructions.
I flashed my phone twice using your TOT guide -- pretty sure I followed it to the letter. It completed successfully, but when the phone rebooted, I still had root access. I'm not sure how to unroot this thing so I can receive OTA updates (and maybe sell later on down the road).
Thanks for the help!

Umm, so I found a possible solution on another thread in this forum. Maybe the answer was so simple that nobody thought to mention it. But apparently, you can just remove root access within the SuperUser app; just select "Full Unroot" or "Total Unroot" from settings. Then run this TOT flash, and you should be GTG. I am trying this now and will report as to whether I am successful.

Rooted or not you should be able to go back to stock. And CSE flash is for the kdz method of lg flash tool. Which I didn't realize what model they were needing help with. Also with the H950 LGUP should be used instead of normal flash tool to avoid any issues with the flash tool.

Hmm. Thanks for helping us out. So I am kind of confused. I reinstalled the Tot file using LGUP, and it completed successfully. I selected "REFURB" mode, and it completed successfully. But after it finished, my phone is still rooted. (I verified with root checker.) I just want to go back to stock so I can get OTA updates (and MM hopefully, when/if AT&T releases it). Now my phone won't get OTA updates because it says it's "suspected of rooting." I bought the phone used off of Swappa, so I'm not sure how exactly the original owner rooted it.

At this point you'd be better off waiting for a KDZ of MM when it comes out for the H950. (But remember, root will probably never be achieved for our devices on MM, if that's something you care about).
I remember buying TWO H950s. Both needed the OTA for the latest Lollipop. But despite several hours, several methods, and several hours at the ATT store, I was never able to get OTAs working on either of them. It was impossible.
And supposedly impossible for several other users on XDA, who couldn't get OTAs working for their ATT Flex 2's. So even if you manage to unroot, don't get your hopes high believing OTAs will work.
Did somebody ever able to go back to stock (H950) from rooted 5.1.1? Where did you get the TOT file?

If any member is trying to sell it on the forums report them. That's not allowed and looked down upon here. I pubically post everything I have and can get for everyone

It would be nice to have a stock ROM of this like they did on P and Q. With the stock kernel download on the side with KCAL, RCT implemented. ?

But I have this weird feeling we're screwed. There's only a few of us left if you've noticed.
If you mean a flashable zip, I'll be glad to post one.

Yes please I want to keep root
I'm so sick of trying to get my H918 TMobile to root, I'm on H91810q... I might as well just flash this kdz because I can't root, cant unlock bootloader or do anything else to be a android nerd anyways. I should flash this just for the pleasure of a little something to update my precious V20. Thanks for posting link bro

Uh im pretty certain that it's because 10q is NON-rootable. You needed to be rooted before updating to q. I am still on k for instance unsure of when I want to root but will not update to q+ for the root problem.
Oh and don't try to flash/kdz back to some lesser than q ROM, as you will hard brick.
Yea I know bro. I learned the hard way and luckily I didn't successfully revert to an older Rom.... I read a thread here and was like oh chitt I almost wrecked my phone lol. I should prolly wait till maybe q gets rooted but q does not look like its going to get any root at all, by as I read so far, devs are not interested.. So I guess ill go ahead and just flash this kdz

Would you suggest updating? I can't root as it is.

@BROKEN1981 It is still ARB 1 so if by some miracle a kernel exploit is found, you can roll back to 10p if needed.

Hi, there. I just bought a V20 T-Mo for a really good price but the phone issue is that every time I turn it on, it goes straight to the "Firmware Update" screen without pressing any volume keys. It shows in LGUP and all with no problem, the firmware version is LGH918AT-01-V10R-310-260-NOV-17-2017-ARB01+0 as it shows when I try flash other KDZs such as 10R_00 or 10Q. The only way to make it boot normally is to flash the V10i KDZ, it starts to flash and immediately it says "Error Tot Anti rollback version is smaller than device" (Image below), phone reboots and starts normally, but if I turn it off and on again it goes to the "Firmware update" screen again.
Does anybody know how I can fix this and help me here? I've been doing some research but can't get it sorted out. Thanks in advance.

Not the place to ask this. Go to the question section and make a new post after you have used the search button about that issue. Maybe edit this comment and try again.
I'm not bothering to update to 10r i was already there and reflashed back to 10p in hopes of 10p being the first to get root and recovery out of this security mess that LG and T mobile has spread worldwide. Meaning being that the 10p being the 1st stage of security patches they have pushed. Iv'e decided to buy another v20 thats on the old firmware and just do a mobo swap into my mint cond v20 it's the easiest route at this point. I'd think LG was to busy paying off lawsuits and replacing phones to be pushing these exploit crippling updates.
Dear LG V20 H918 users, I am facing ridiculously low battery life on my new device. do you face the same problem? or you solved it somehow? please pardon my off topic post...
