[Q] OTA Update Fails - LG G Flex 2

Today i get an update OTA
i downloaded it and wanted to update, but in the Update-Screen, the progress failed and my phone reboot
i have rooted my flex2 (h955) and the software recognized it and throw out an error
is there any way to update?
i searched the problem in google, but google doesnt found anything and in the G3 forum stands, that root is no problem with stock recovery and ich have stock recovery

You might have to unroot before doing the OTA update.

Which version of the LG PC Suite did you use?
There doesn't seem to be one available for the Flex 2 yet on their main site.
*Edit* Software tool downloaded and works fine.

could anyone post links to the tool/s to update the sprint flex 2 please. i too got the OTA update and failed, most likely because im rooted. but anyway im just trying to update. also anyone also with sprint and updated notice any performance differences or better signal after update.?

I'm using Flex 2 after the root is not updated. When I unroot the LG logo hanging Flex 2, now I needed stock rom and file tot

you can try to flash this:
[KDZ][H955] LG G Flex 2 stock .kdz
And then you tell us if it worked or not.

The message is no problem, only appears at startup. But no phone reception is a ****ing thing.
Have you installed the correct one for your country? if it is on the list.

Which one did you get? LG PC Suite 4.3.41? Where from? I can't find it on the LG site for our phones.

count me in the same boat :/
have the sprint version of the phone and woke up this morning to a prompt that there was an android update. with my brain not being awake yet i went ahead and told it to update, not thinking about root preventing the update. So went about my morning routine and came back and the phone was booted back up, but obviously the update didn't apply as i was still on ZV4, not ZV5. when checking for update it says there are no updates available.
can anyone help me/us out and post some steps for how to unroot and reapply the update? i'm good at following directions, just too new to this stuff to be able to figure it out on my own

see provider but no signal

anyone have any tips on forcing the OTA to download again?i've disabled SU, rebooted, and factory reset and it still says i'm up to date when checking for an update. or is there a way to download the OTA and update the phone some other way?
really want to check out this update and see the improvements, just can't get it to go after trying to update this morning while still rooted

I tested all the files and I have no message and signal works perfectly.

woke up this morning to the prompt that there was an update available again, not sure why it does it overnight but won't when i manually check for update..... anyway, i disabled SU, rebooted, then started the update and watched it this time and in the middle of the upgrade it came up with the android guy on his back and it said error. after a bit it restarted again and was back to where i started, no update.
so it looks like i need to unroot. would appreciate any help on how to unroot so i can apply the OTA, thanks!!!!!

Here with a sprint flex 2. First time I tried ota update I was rooted and it failed. A few days later the update notification showed up again, went ahead and unrooted, tried the update and still failed. I'm not sure root has anything to do with update failing now. Could be something else. So far I haven't read about anyone successfully completing update and reporting it.

I was getting the same error message about being rooted even after un rooting the device.
I installed the lg pc suite and upgraded to 10d that way and then re rooted using the method on this forum.
It looks like there may be a flag thats triggered once u root that doesnt get removed even if u unroot it.

ugh! i can't even get my phone to connect to pc suite to try and "fix" it so i can attempt the update

New Firmware (Lollipop) is on LG server. D80130B

I was checking LG Twitter and saw that LG has new firmwares (Lollipop) for T-Mobile LG G2 and G3. For LG G2 it is D80130B. You can use LG Support Tool to update your G2.
Sorry if it was posed previously.

Yep, installs fine and so far everything is working for me
Also installed it here. Haven't noticed any bugs..... yet....
Good to hear that it is working good for you because I have G3 and it is stable too. I wonder why T-Mobile is not sending OTA!
It should be available via LG Support Tool too.
Anyone that has installed this, when you reboot does the T-Mobile boot animation do anything or is it just a picture?

Just a picture.
Just updated via LG tool. While it did not erase my data during the upgrade, not everything works within the ROM. I'm doing a factory reset right now to see if that fixes the issues.
I uploaded a mirror on my server
D80130b_00.kdz - 1075.8 Mb
I tried to update via update tool and at first while the drivers were installing it said there was an update available then once the drivers finished installing it said that my d801 was up to date with 20g..... Oh well guess i will just flash kdz and hope i can get it rooted. First time i tried 30b kdz i was able to root using the method for g flex 2 but every time i tried after that it would not run the last script.....
Can someone confirm that this update includes volte support

Hello
Im download the d80130b to my LG G2 801 T-MOBILE and is working perfectly with LG FLASH TOOL
Anyone notice any GPS improvement with this update?
No but I noticed On Screen Phone and Wireless Storage are missing and I used both.
Too bad to hear that we lost OSP and wifi storage. About the only good news is that I don't use either of them. I just started messing with OSP and think it might be something I mess with, but not really use that often. I've decided to take the plunge and install on my phone. I'll run it through the stuff I normally use and report back.
Can someone explain why wireless storage was discontinued? The feature was so useful as no cable was needed for transferring media.
Ok, been running this through it's paces today. I don't have any problems so far. It does take a little getting used to. I did discover in my testing that the GPS problems is, in my opinion, completely a software issue. When running maps, GPS test, or GPS status the GPS reception basically sucks. The compass was off, keeping lock was a pain, and updating location was slow/jumpy. Now for the heck of it I ran my Navionics boat charting app and it ran flawlessly.
Not sure where else I can post my finding for developers to work on. Let me know if anyone has other ideas

major issues with my sprint g flex 2.

my sprint g flex 2 just took a major dive. it keeps going to a black screen and then turning back on to the home screen, every few seconds. tried doing a factory reset and no help. think the update bricked it. I rooted it using the new method and it worked fine. no idea what the hell happened after last night lol
is there a way to go back to the stock firmware as if it just came out of the box?

Not as of right now. As far as I have seen, there have been no stock firmware dumps from the Sprint version of the G Flex 2. Attempts to restore it back to factory settings have ended up in bootlooping phones. The only resolution I've seen so far is unfortunately getting Sprint to exchange the phone. Did you try installing the OTA after root, or did you root after the OTA?

Root then OTA. I work for Sprint so they made me the advocate of that phone. Not a huge fan of it so far. even before all this mess, the phone was lagging and getting way too hot.

ZV5 update fixes a lot of the lag issues and greatly improves battery life. Phone still gets warm to the touch. I don't think that can be fixed via software update though.

The only issue I really have with this phone is lack of patched native hotspot
Other than that, the slight lag I'm experiencing here and there I can live with. No other issues for me and I consider it to be the best designed phone on the market except for Sharp Aquos, which is unfortunately too small and has mediocre components.

"Your device is suspected in rooting" even though I fully unrooted..

Has anyone had this issue when attempting to do OTA updates?
I had an F510S and I got a prompt to download the V15 software. Upon receiving the message, I unrooted the phone completely using the option in Super SU, even tried a factory reset afterwards..The update will download, restart to go through the installation process, fail, then upon rebooting I would get the message.
The only explanation I can think of is that I uninstalled some of the bloatware that came with the phone using Titanium Backup... does LG check for changes in the system files when doing OTA updates?
I ended up switching over to an H959 rom instead as I realized that I'd need to flash a complete stock rom before trying an OTA update again but it would be nice to know in case I decide to uninstall system apps in the future.
Try updating via LG Pc suit
PC Suite kept saying that I had the latest version available, even though I had a prompt for an OTA update
Exactly the same problem here ! I also think it's caused by the uninstallation of some apps..
Must have all apps from factory bloatware and all. That's the only way i learned the hard way in the past . Flag stock tot

Help Boost 6.0.1 Recovery Zip or 6.0.1 ota update needed.

During debloat on Boost 6.0.1 error 1003 on reboot. Cannot mount sd in recovery mode. When using the 6.0 untouched i get an error after 50%+ when trying to sideload. AIl so it goes on to display dialog in the phone describing basically its can update becouse ther untouched zip is going from 5.1.1 to 6.0 so id imagine i need a 6.0.1 ota update or recovery in hopes of unsoftbricking the device. Anyone got any way of possibly downgrading if the 6.0.1 wont work? A guy in the the dev forum said he was able to overflash but i cannot post in there yet. Help plz i dont like paperweights.
There really isn't a solution for you other than sending it to LG to get unbricked. Right now there is no way of circumventing LAF which is the program that keeps us from writing anything to any partition. I'm assuming that there was an update or change in zv7 that did this as zv4 & 5 both had the ability. Basically the device is checking the system partition and taking note that there have been changes made that we're not supposed to have been. As of right now there isn't anything we can do because we haven't been able to unlock the bootloader. Also, so far the Boost website says zv7 was the 6.0 upgrade and I haven't seen a 6.0.1 ota update and Boost hasn't made any mention of it on their website. When I get my new one tommorrow I'll double check the version but so far I haven't heard of a 6.0.1 ota.

Help, H950 flash to stock for OTA Update?

EDIT: Looks like its not MM but some security update, so that sucks but I'd still like to know if anyone successfully got back to stock from rooted 5.1.1
Hi everyone.
I'm trying to find a way to restore my H950 to stock and completely remove any trace of root so that I can install an OTA update. I have tried installing the update with LG PC Suite and LGMobile Support Tool. Both of them say that I am on the latest software (5.1.1 H950v11?). It has been so long since I rooted it that I can't remember what method I used. If anyone has any idea how to flash it back to stock, I'd appreciate the help!
More Details:
I have an H950 (US AT&T) rooted on 5.1.1 and I just started getting an update yesterday saying that I have a system update available. When I tried to download and update, the phone I got an error while the update was still at 0%. When the phone restarted I got the "This phone is suspected in rooting..." Error.
I have tried following this thread [Guide] LG G Flex 2 Stock Firmware (Go Back to Stock) KDZ & TOT Method
but it didn't work. I got the flash utility to run but I still had SuperSU after it flashed my phone and the update still failed due to "Suspect in rooting."
I also tried following this thread [Tool] Easy Restore/Unroot Tool for LG G Flex 2 [09/15/15]!!
but I could not get it to work. The utility just hangs at "Working..."
Anyone successfully used either of these methods on an H950 with 5.1.1 to get back to stock?
Thanks in advance!

You chose cse flash and wiped correct? If you didn't that's why my guide removes everything 100% if you follow it correctly.

CSE flash? Sorry I didn't see that in your guide for the H950 on the AT&T network. I'm looking at your guide and not seeing the CSE Flash unless the LG Tool is the CSE FLash? I had the same problem with SuperSU left over and not able to update. I tried the default Upgrade method, then got a minios OS screen on the the Board method.

It's entirely possible that I am technologically inept, but I am having the exact same issue as the OP. I followed your guide (which was very helpful) for the TOT method, and there is no option to use CSE flash, or at least it's not discussed in the instructions.
I flashed my phone twice using your TOT guide -- pretty sure I followed it to the letter. It completed successfully, but when the phone rebooted, I still had root access. I'm not sure how to unroot this thing so I can receive OTA updates (and maybe sell later on down the road).
Thanks for the help!

Umm, so I found a possible solution on another thread in this forum. Maybe the answer was so simple that nobody thought to mention it. But apparently, you can just remove root access within the SuperUser app; just select "Full Unroot" or "Total Unroot" from settings. Then run this TOT flash, and you should be GTG. I am trying this now and will report as to whether I am successful.

Rooted or not you should be able to go back to stock. And CSE flash is for the kdz method of lg flash tool. Which I didn't realize what model they were needing help with. Also with the H950 LGUP should be used instead of normal flash tool to avoid any issues with the flash tool.

Hmm. Thanks for helping us out. So I am kind of confused. I reinstalled the Tot file using LGUP, and it completed successfully. I selected "REFURB" mode, and it completed successfully. But after it finished, my phone is still rooted. (I verified with root checker.) I just want to go back to stock so I can get OTA updates (and MM hopefully, when/if AT&T releases it). Now my phone won't get OTA updates because it says it's "suspected of rooting." I bought the phone used off of Swappa, so I'm not sure how exactly the original owner rooted it.

At this point you'd be better off waiting for a KDZ of MM when it comes out for the H950. (But remember, root will probably never be achieved for our devices on MM, if that's something you care about).
I remember buying TWO H950s. Both needed the OTA for the latest Lollipop. But despite several hours, several methods, and several hours at the ATT store, I was never able to get OTAs working on either of them. It was impossible.
And supposedly impossible for several other users on XDA, who couldn't get OTAs working for their ATT Flex 2's. So even if you manage to unroot, don't get your hopes high believing OTAs will work.
Did somebody ever able to go back to stock (H950) from rooted 5.1.1? Where did you get the TOT file?

If any member is trying to sell it on the forums report them. That's not allowed and looked down upon here. I pubically post everything I have and can get for everyone
