Click to collapse
You need to compare .kl files in your /system/usr
find about hardware buttons for mouse
Left ( code key i.e 341 )
right ( code key i.e 342 )
just change with invert the code key from both buttons

[Q] Remapping Keys

tl;dr
How do I remap keys on the physical keyboard?
VoiceInput --> ALT
Emoticon --> ???
/tl;dr
Is there a way I could make the Voice Input key on the keyboard another Alt key? I never use voice input, but I find myself using exclamation points a lot. [I get excited about things. Don't judge me!] So I was wondering if we could remap keys like that. And since the Emoticon button only works in stock Messaging, that'd be a good one to replace, too, for those of us who are on other SMS apps.
EDIT: It seems I'd forgotten about this thread. The instructions work for remapping keys. I made VoiceInput another Alt, and I put VoiceInput on the Emoticon key.

[Q] Right Click Mapping

Since there is a right click button on the dock, is it remappable? I know you can remap the "Back" key to ESC, but how about the right click on the touchpad? and yes i did search.

[Q] Usb key triggered action

I need to launch a tasker action by pressing a key on my external usb keyboard
old quicklaunch is burried but still functional, the problem is that uses ALT + key and NOT 1 key only. Can I change this?
OR
Can i create a custom layout file (/system/usr/keylayout/*.kl) to bind a specific keycode to ALT + key instead of single key?
thank you

[Q] Key code number assignment for phisical buttons

Hello,
If somebody will help me, I'll be a lucky man
My case:
I'm trying to port Android 4.1 to 4.0
Now I have bootable ROM with workable display, touchscreen, gsm.
How to solve issues with wifi, cameras and so on, I know.
But I have one problem which I can not solve...
I have some physical buttons which not work (for example programs like KeycodeChecker dont show any signs when button pressed). I don't ask you how to assign functions for buttons (please, do not try to tell me about keylayout folder).
My question:
Where in android system happens key code number assignment for phisical buttons? For example, if I press button vol+, KeycodeChecker shows me key code number 212, but, if I press button vol-, KeycodeChecker shows nothing...
PS: sorry for my English...

Hardware key mapping: how to use recents?

Hey guys,
I am a SlimKat user but dualboot with Miui. Now, that ROM hasn't integrated hardware key mapping, unlike SlimKat and GravityBkx doesn't work, unfortunately. I prefer hardware buttons over soft keys and I don't like OP's button placement. I know off changing the key mapping manually using "Generic.kl" in system/usr/keylayout.
I have found the correct Buttons that I want to have changed, but I don't know how to change them to recents? Menu is MENU WAKE_DROPPED. Back is BACK WAKE_DROPPED. Recents? No clue.
Does anyone know the code for recents? Or maybe I can download a Samsung Galaxy S5 ROM and check the recents code in their(it has a hardware recents button, right?)
Thank you in advance!
BTW: back is key 158 and menu is key 139 for those who want to know.
Oh, wow... Google is amazing...
It's: APP_SWITCH....
