by:
Apriansyah Bintang
Alhamdulillah, those were the words in my mouth when it landed on LG G3 Stylus "in the middle of the fence." Finally "google potion" has come to us. Ok do not dwell upon this subject anymore! let's rock. But, there has to be understood first before upgrading this device to you who are still newbie :
A. COMMON QUESTIONS
Is the stock firmware of Lollipop are official? yes.

If the firmware are official then why can't upgrade via On The Air (OTA) / automatic updates of device? not yet, because even though official however allocated for regional Malaysia, while Indonesia or other countries untill the author post this article currently there is no clarity when it will be given, only the sweet promises from the LG. CAUTION: now you can upgrade to Lollipoop via On The Air (OTA).
Is the manual upgrade as way below will shorten the life of our device ? Nope, there is no relation.
Is the manual upgrade as this will void the warranty ? of course, but do not worry just flash again to Kitkat then it will go back again to a virgin state.
Is the upgrade Indonesian Firmware must be via On The Air (OTA)? nope, you can flash it, and the link of Indonesian firmware is in the under point A. UPGRADE PREPARATION.
B. SPECIFIC QUESTIONS
Is using the firmware will be a significant improvement ? not entirely .
Is 3g signal is more stronger ? the author use “tri” and “simpati” cards. The signal of tri in kitkat for Bekasi (west java, Indonesia) area’s only 1-2 strips, but in lollipop at least 2 strips and 4 strips at maximum. While simpati in kitkat and lollipop both 5 strips.
If we use the Antutu Benchmark then what is the score? If the Kitkat ranging from 17,000 to 18,000 so if Lollipop minimal ranging from 19370-20447.
Does performance increased? I feel it is a litte bit increase.
Is the battery getting longer ? a little bit different with kitkat, it depends on usage.
Is interface (user interface ) to change ? not significant, may be only in screen lock, recent, navigation key, which changed to the style of Lollipop .
It will support USB On The Go ( OTG ) ? no, not yet.
Does the RAM increased ? nope, there is no change, but multitasking becomes better if the entire animations in our device turned off.
Does it affect internal memory becomes more space ? nope, even on the contrary, the Kitkat internal memory which is used for sytem amount 3.7GB but at Lollipop reach 4.21GB.
Is there an Indonesian language option ? Yeup, even the choice of languages becomes more choice.
Does using Indonesian regional firmware for non Indonesian regional will impact influence on the received signal ? i think it doesn't.
Does rooting the device must be? Nope, doesn't.
Does unroot the device must be? Nope, doesn't.
Would the device can be rooted ? Yes, only one methode for now, use king root version 4.0 : www.kingroot.net
Is this upgrade will delete internal memory ? yes, it will. Than backup first please.
Is this upgrade will delete external memory ? nope.
How lerge is the size of the firmware in a KDZ ? 893MB.
Is the pixel density will increase ? nope.
There Is bugs on Lollipop ? Yeup, GPS not working properly and there is no solution yet..
Is the result of photo more better ? a little bit increase about 5-10 %, a better result when the light is less when we using the kitkat with a flash lamp then the result becomes chaotic, ugly saturation, blur. But now it is litle bit better.
Compare the photo above is taken from the stock camera of LG G3 Stylus Kitkat when the light level is very lacking at 08:00 pm ; the left does taken using blits (flash lamp) while the right photo does not use blits.
Now compare the photos below was taken at 10:00pm with stock camera of LG G3 Stylus lollipop in the same condition; with a worse light at 10.00 pm, the left does taken using blits (flash lamp) while the right photo does not use flash lamp.
Does the input / output sound more better ? no changes.
The other Applcations does not change....
etc

I got root with iRoot too, but even the own iRoot apps couldn't got root permissions, which means it couldn't gave permissions to any other app too.
I guess that even if you get, you won't be able to update the su binaries easily, so you will have to get used with the Chinese apps.
Gps is working fine to me either, seems even faster than before.

My Australian-bought XT1033 (dual sim) got Kitkat today.
System version is:
171.44.31.falcon_umtsds.AsiaRetail.en.03
Looking into installing CWM - got adb working so will flash recovery and take a nandroid.
update: bah, just found that unlocking bootloader would void my warranty and requires a unique key from Motorola, so sorry, can't install CWM - phone is too new to void warranty until I'm sure it doesn't have any faults (this is my first non-Nexus phone so didn't realise bootloader unlocking would be so irritating).
edit: lol, looks like its already here on the forums, cool.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2639384
I don´t know why, but my G isn´t installing this update on stock recovery and isn´t upgrading when using OTA updates. It always says that an error occurs, but never show me any error code. Anyone is having this issue?
Another strange thing, is that when I plug my device on my notebook, it doesn´t recognize which version of android I´m running.
I´ve flashed Blur_Version.14.91.9.falcon_umtsds.Brasil.en.BR and stills the same thing. Any help would be great
Thanks in advance.

Hi, will this work on locked and unlocked phones?
Doubt
Hi!
Could I use this ROM if I brick my phone? I do really intend to install CM11, but I'm afraid if something goes wrong what should I do. As long as I know, the RSD Lite doesn't recognize our Mogo G, is there another safe (and easy) way to recover our phone as factory default?
Another newbie doubt, if we do install a ROM (let's say, one of the Motorola site - http : // sbf.droid-developers.org / phone.php?device=14 -without spaces]) we will have our bootloader locked back?
Thanks!

I have the same XT1033 dual sim with 16GB and updated it to KitKat OTA. My Moto G was a grey import (into Australia) destined for India (it came with a Motorola charger and handsfree).
The system version is: 171.44.31.falcon_umtsds.AsiaRetail.en.03. This update does not break USB OTG functionality, it's the same update that was rolled out in India. It now shows OTG capability in Settings > Storage (see the bottom where it says USB Disk). I haven't used it yet, but here's a video below demonstrating it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QLD8OknwyM
Here is a request to those that have updated to KitKat, is the OTG working after the update and which version was it?
And can someone upload the "171.44.31.falcon_umtsds.AsiaRetail.en.03.zip" update. I want to unlock and root, but also want to be able to return to the original stock rom later.
If you haven't updated yet, I think you can pull the file after you've downloaded it from the /Cache/ directory using adb. After downloading it, it will ask you whether to update later, choose later then pull the file to the desktop. I forgot to do this step...
Thanks :victory:
/EDIT
Nevermind, the Motorola naming of updates had me confused. The file that I was after was actually "Blur_Version.14.85.4.falcon_umtsds.AsiaRetail.en.03.zip" which can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49390749&postcount=1
When updated the version and baseband will be:
Baseband: MSM8626BP_1032.355.66.00R
System: 171.44.31.falcon_umtsds.AsiaRetail.en.03
Kernel:3.4.0-g9f5dcdc

Just be prepared to do a bit of reading and research on the device and what you want to do with it. After a few years away from all this it can be a little overwhelming for me. If you can understand the process and learn from the mistakes others have made, you'll avoid them yourself. Be patient and think ahead, be sure of what you are doing and why then you won't have too many problems.
Today, 26/05/2015 at 1620 hrs, a v20a OS. update showed up...!

Please can you confirm if in videcamera menu the option live effects is missed ? the camera quality is ok ?? I had problems when I updated in Taiwan rom , live effects in video recording missed and the quality of the camera was much worst than with kit kat this is because I came back to kit kat, at present I have SEA (Singapore) rom and I would like to update but I have panic because I worry that the same problems remains.

Ok. Thanks, would be appreciated if tomorrow or so you can confirm battery drains or not, also I remember when I updated that the charging time was 1 hour more than the usual 90 min and the bright in automatic was changing without a reason it was with the Taiwan TWN rom maybe as Singapore has been out 3 months later this updae better, I hope so. anyway it would be very goog if after a few days you can post here any improvementes you can see in the phone, thanks again for your help.
Yesterday I have updated my LG G Pro 2 D838 (SEA - Singapore) to Lollipop v5.0.1 V20A firmware. I have tried then to root this firmware using DP Tools but had no luck. My phone goes properly into Download mode but it's always stuck at 0%. I had to remove battery to boot my phone and it's not rooted. I have tried this several times but always get this message:
Any clue to resolve this problem? Thanks!
Night mode also missed in front photo camera menu with lollipop ?
Would you be able to provide aome sort of zipof the whole rom i die die need this rom my network has problems with the custom rom im on and i dont have any trace of my previous stock rom.
OK.
Confirmed that few camera and video modes have been taken out from official lollipop.
Battery drains about 10% faster than KitKat.
Battery charging is about 10% slower too.
However, I can live with those shortcomings. Not an issue for me.

U might want to unroot and or remove custom recovery.
My phone kept booting into custom recovery and could not get pass custom recovery.
I had to use adb to push a custom rom into my phone internal storage and flash the rom before I could restore it to original firmware using KDZ.
After restoring then download the update pack and run it again then no issue.
Good luck

I don't know if we'll ever get that. This release may be the last one for a long time.
I'm having no issues with the latest update.
# ATTENTION #
I do not take responsibility for any bricked/damaged phone.
If you don't know what you're doing, and you have 0 experience with modding, don't blame me or LG.
I don't want unauthorized distribution.
If you export this guide out of XDA-Developers, you must using the link of this thread and quote me.
I found this method working on my European LG V10 H960A 32 GB, and I thank @HuEx for letting me know this could be possible. I just thought that making a thread about this could help a lot of users.
Do not ask me if this works for other variants, I don't know and I won't reply
The KDZ is official from LG, and this procedure is possible due to the identical hardware between H960A and H960ATR (which is the Turkish variant of LG V10).
Pre-requisites:
LGUP with UPPERCUT (download)
A working PC, with constant power supply
Drivers installed
A proper USB cable
A brain with Q.I. > 1
Youtube video tutorial (thanks to @omar2005 )
1. Download the KDZ from www.lg-firmwares.com
2. (Optional) do a backup of your phone through LG Backup. This could be useful later, cause phone may not be fully optimized after the upgrade. Restoring the backup after a wipe while on the updated version will work (only settings won't be restored). You can do this step on the PC or on the phone, and you could use an external SD Card if you need.
3. Plug in your phone. Be sure to have both USB debugging and OEM unlock option (I'm not sure if they are relevant, but they could be helpful in case a connection could not be estabilished)
4. Open LGUP by opening Uppercut (doing so, LGUP will recognize the LG V10, otherwise it won't)
4a. If anti-virus prompts for a Trojan, disable it or whitelist it. It is a false positive. Uppercut won't harm your PC.
5. If everything is set up, LGUP won't warn you about anything, otherwise it will ask to plug your phone. Please double-check the previous points
View attachment 4187945
6. On process tab, select "UPGRADE"
7. By clicking on the three dots, select the KDZ you downloaded
8. Press on start, make a cup of tea, and be patient. Do not unplug your phone during the process
9. Phone will reboot several times. Then it will say that Android is upgrading.
10. Once the update is competed, you can go on settings->Backup & restore -> LG Backup and you can wipe the datas. Phone will reboot. You can now restore your data, phone will reboot again.
11. Enjoy your phone with Android Nougat

What's new
Pretty much all the new things of Android 7.0, the ROM is similar to the V20. Camera has a new clean look, themes are available to fully customize your phone, multi-windows, slightly improved second screen, the whole interface was re-designed with the new paged-view quick settings, quick reply notifications etc.
The only thing missing is night filter, don't really know why.

That's an interesting point. From what I'm experiencing it does not work! Stock Radio App is not even installed, and 3rd part apps won't work without root
that is strange i have the FM Radio working on my device :/
For me fm radio is working correctly. I have the stock app and it is working properly.

I also have the h960a 32gb version of this phone and figured out this method by trying. For me the phone is working really good. I have the FM radio app, and after the dirty flash everything works. I had some serious overheating on Android 6, but after this update this issue got better too. The phone is fast, fluid and the new features are great.
Thanks for the tutorial!

not EU but is the international variant, the H960A 32GB updated with the H960ATR
Same here H960A (manufactured in hungary in my case) 32GB flashed with the ATR kdz file.

i have the H960A international and after flash the ATR V30a i dont have FM Radio app, still i can see the FMService and FM Radio app in system/app folder but is not installed in the phone, and when trying to install it gives a error, because the icon is the Android symbol and not the Radio icon....
Conclusion: if you want/need radio FM working on your H960A you need to wait for H960A official KDZ and dont flash the ATR verison. - For me isnt a big deal since i dont use the radio app.
another thing:
in second screen when setting the location with SmartNotice or Weather App, wherever language you have the phone the day of the week is always in english, i try everything to change this but no luck, and i think th same as radio FM app we need to wait for the official H960A update to get those two things work properly.
Yo! Worked perfectly fine on 960A and radio app is still working like a charm. Thanks!
I'm so glad they got rid of that orange theme when in energy save mode lol!

so, i was able to get Radio FM work on my H960A with ATR KDZ...i downgrade from Nougat to Marshmallow, go to Update Center and download Radio FM, QuickRemote and Weather and then update in Uppercut again to Nougat.
And now my FM Radio work, but still a minor bug is the Radio app still with Marshmallow icon and not the Nougat icon, its just boring since in update center on Nougat the Quick Remote and Weather get updated and Radio dont...so, i will try to replace the Radio apk for the one in KDZ and maybe i can get the new icon properly on the app.
The second "bug" i told before is still here: Weather with Marshmallow in my language (Portuguese) in second screen i get the day of the week in my language, but after update to Nogat it goes to English and i dont have a clue how to change it, i do everything it goes on my mind like change my language to English and reboot and then change again to Portuguese and nothing happens here.
P.S: Anyone here are in Marshmallow and keep waiting for the official Nougat via LG Bridge? if so, are the update avaiable for H960A via LG Bridge or nothing yet?

I've got a licence for Twilight Pro, which actually has the custom quick setting, so I'm happy with that. Still I can't understand why night filter is not included in this ROM... Quite strange.

Since the faulty and non-optimized stock rom from UMIDIGI, i've been looking everywhere for ROMs based in our device specs to get a better user experience.
And that lead me to this ROM. NOA.
NOA H10 is a device that is sold in Croatia and is produced by UMIDIGI. The rest is left for them to work on and until now I noticed that even though it is a 6.0 ROM it still is better than UMIDIGI 6.0 stock ROM.
Enough of this monologue and let's get straight to the procedure.
Pre-requisites:
- Flashtools - here (scroll down until you find the latest version)
- NOA H10 ROM file - Latest MM version, Latest Nougat
- SN Writter - here (scroll down until you find the latest version) - this one is to use in case that if by any chance you loose your IMEI's number (if data and calls dont work after flash)
- Little to none skills on flashing ROM's
Instructions: - Umidigi Z Pro
1. Extract the Flashtools package anywhere you want;
2. Extract the ROM package just anywhere you want too;
3. Open the Flashtools folder and open the flash_tool.exe;
4. At this point, press the button "choose" on "Scatter-loading File" and go to the folder where you extracted your ROM files. Select the "MT6797_Android_scatter.txt" file;
5. Press "Download", and with your device turned off, connect it to the PC;
6. The flashing process will start and check message box will appear as soon as it finishes.
7. All set and done. The initial language will be Croatian but I think you will not have problems searching for your language from the first drop box menu that will appear.

NOTES and BUG FIXES:
Leave your feedback here as well as any bugs found. I might or not be able to fix them but at least everyone will be aware of them.
If you whant to install TWRP, do so. But right after installing TWRP, on first boot, go directly to TWRP and apply Supersu or Magisk. This way will prevent bootloop as reported by @DocwatZ

It's working on Umidigi Z Pro.
I installed TWRP and that works but after coming out of recovery it no longer wants to boot.
Will re-flash and and keep testing.
FYI Camera software looks like Umidigi version. It's shame because the Gemini Pro version looks way better in my opinion.
Also... NOA have http://noa-mobile.eu/element/h10le smartphone on Preorder. Possible that the Android 7.1.1 rom from this handset will work on Z Pro to.
Keep up the good work peeps. The Z Pro users will be happy one day :good:

I had to reformat my device as I was palying with gemini pro camera files and when i tried to go back to NOA ones it force closed my app. So battery stats graphs will be updated tomorrow. I can advance that TWRP, Root and xposed is working well on this ROM. Camera quality is better too with this one (cant show comparison due to reformat of mobile and forgot to backup photos. Stay tuned!
hello, i have install 7.1.1 update after 6.0 stock umidigi. The real problem i have is the poor quality of the camera. I find it better when i use gemini pro rom 6.0 but the problem of lock screen forced me to return on umidigi rom. How is the focus of this rom for the camera ? Welcome scroful!
I'm aware of the 7.1.1 problems on the camera. With this ROM I made a test with Gemini Pro Camera and the camera from this ROM and despite I dont have the photos to proof I noticed that this NOA camera took photos a little bit better than Gemini. For now, everything is stable and Bluetooth works ok altough I need to do more tests as there was people complaining that UMIDIGI rom was unstable on bluetooth. Tomorrow I will feedback about this and battery. Just gonna let settle the ROM for today. Probably later I will create a Custom Rom of this with xposed, root and TWRP pre-installed.
So is there going to be Android 7.1 alternative?
Hi Guys,
I installed this NOA H10 rom yesterday, i see no different comparing to stock 6.0 umi z pro.
But the battery time is much better ! at the regular rom 6.0 or 7.1.1 i couldn't get passed 16 hours mixed, now i have 24 hours +-
no buggs found.

Sorry for the language it's in dutch. as you can see at the bottom of the battery app it says:

This was the highest rating i could get today, now it's 22hours.. which is still almost 10 hours more than at regular umiz roms.

Hello fellow XDA members,
Since we Korean users don't have a specific thread for ourselves I have opened a new thread where we can discuss possibilities to make our device awesome.
Feel free to share anything related to our devices including latest security updates, ask for help and possibilities of Custom ROMs.
1) If you want to Unlock your bootloader/Install TWRP & Root F800L/K/S: DirtySanta Bootloader unlock and Root guide (Special thanks to me2151)
Note: DirtySanta only works up-to Dec 2016 security updates. However, if you still want to root then as according to runningnak3d If you have ARB 0 then it is still possible.
To find your ARB, on the keypad dial: *#LGMENU#*model#
So for example, F800L: *#LGMENU#*800#
2) Firmware List (If you get new KDZ files for our devices post links here so I can update the list):
LG F800K: F800K10e
LG F800L: F800L10e
LG F800S: F800S10e
3) Supported Custom ROMs: WETA ROMs for VS995/ H910/ US996 with F800L (If it works for F800S/K let me know I will update it)
Known reported Issues in F800L by @karmacoma7: lags when installing apps and 3G stops working (only 2G and LTE works)
Edit 1: If you happen to install DirtySanta, DO NOT install bootimage.img part it gives static screen to our devices. After installing TWRP and formatting data flash Schwifty Kernel (Works in F800L) It will install SuperSU and will give you root. (Device won't have any lags also)
Ampicillin: I suggest for efficiency we keep all the useful stuff in the 1st post.
I am a F800L Rooted user on 10t rom.
I have flashed 10i KDZ with uppercut, used OTA to update to 10t, then used the dirtycow exploit to root.
Now there are two ways to get the latest security patch and keep root:
1) If we get a latest KDZ (Which is possible by updating with LG Bridge) we can flash only the system part of this KDZ, without boot and aboot, thus keeping root. I have tried getting updates with root, but LG Bridge says, its the latest version. ( Some kind of protection is there) Perhaps I will try later to downgrade to 10i and try to update to the latest rom to get a KDZ.
2) If LAF cracking succeeds, then we can upload our LAF image to the developer and he will extract the key for signing KDZ, so we can root latest KDZ and flash it.
Another thing: You can use WETA roms and some other roms for vs995 or h910 or us996 with the Korean versions.
I have checked myself: WETA ROM works, but lags just a tiny bit when installing apps and 3g stops working for me ( only 2g and LTE does)
Courtesy of Mr. fenrir_ac https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6c...w?usp=drivesdk
Its a file to flash to make US roms work for above mentioned devices for F800L
This guide might work for other versions of Korean phones, courtesy of the same mr. fenrir_ac
Get these 5 files from your Korean stock ROM and move it to this ROM (or any H918 ROM), under directory /system/etc/firmware
i) a530_zap.b00
ii) a530_zap.b01
iii) a530_zap.b02
iv) a530_zap.elf
v) a530_zap.mdt
After flashing the new ROM, move these files to the same directory by using the file manager in TWRP. You must mount system before moving them to the new ROM, otherwise the phone will stuck at the LG splash screen.
Another interesting thing - a restock kernel works fine with my F800L
Otherwise if you restore backup of your kernel, you will get static ( Perhaps it will work for other versions too)
One more thing, I have used a RCTD, CCMD and triton remover from our fellow developer Zacharee1 and I find its results amazing.
The device works now as a SD820 device should - no lags at all.
Can you provide a link for a Chinese discussion site for Korean models ?
@karmacoma7
It's a great idea so people don't need to dig up the entire thread. I will update the 1st post as soon as possible.
Here is the Chinese forum, They have active developments on Korean variant.

Before you have done that. Could you run a LG bridge on your PC/MAC and try to download latest KDZ for our F800L ?
It will most probably download it, so try to find the KDZ it downloaded on your hard drive.
If you succeed, then upload the KDZ somewhere.
I will extract it, try it and if all is well - will make a guide how to keep root with the latest patch.
Yes, Keeping our devices on latest security updates is important without losing the root. So, if anyone has any links to latest KDZ post it here.
Wtf is triton anyway? I also used rctd, it seems better... Also you guy should flash the vulkan driver, is great!

Has anyone tried to root with DirtySanta being on latest security patch/update 2017? Since I assume if ARB only matters DirtySanta should work? I am on ARB -0 still.

I see. :good:
Good news. a flashable 10t rom, found on Chinese site.
Here`s a link to GD https://drive.google.com/open?id=1yha4HUaId4tpHJHgZLEGrwO_Sy9K3GGb
The Rom is nice, but all lg apps are cut out.
You have to make a clean install, otherwise no-go.
Gapps are missing. Trying open gapps now
since LG apps are cut out, can somebody make a titanium backup of stock weather, music player and hd recorder and upload to google drive ?

I will give it a try and let you know been busy lately.
Also, off topic, my device audio seems to be having an issue. It works great in some apps when using call or recording feature. Sound is crisp and clear but in Whatsapp, certain apps and chrome browser in build video websites when I try to play any music or video sound is muddy and distorted, cannot hear anything. However, my music player works fine. What could be the issue?
I tried disabling xposed, I am using Swiftchy kernal.

Hah, Yeah Chinese ROMs are not user friendly for non Chinese users. But, at least development is still happening on F800L which is good sign for upcoming Oreo and possibilities of root for Oreo!

Okay, Let's wait for Oreo. We have to be able to root Oreo once it comes out.
Edit: Thanks for the Restock kernel thing. I just flashed on top of Swiftchy kernel and now my audio distortion issues in some issues completely gone. So, I guess it was a kernel issue. Also, this kernel doesn't say anything on software version just says: Kernel version 3.18.31 and it seems to have little lag when device boots up and settles after 2-3 mins. My CPU gets 99% usage upon boot up!
