Is there a way to skip the activation setup wizard? - LG G Flex 2

I got my G Flex 2 back from LG. Was working fine. then I stopped receiving texts in general. restarted the phone several times and still no help. So I did a factory reset since there wasnt anything really important on there. And when I try and get past the setup process, it keeps giving me a force close saying LG SETUPWIZARD has stopped.
Is there a way to bypass the whole thing?

Which modal you hve and carrier??

Yes.. tap the four corners of the setup screen (i think you have to start from top left, then top right, bottom right then bottom left)

clear data from recovery , reboot the phone ,
1] connect to wifi 1
2] connect to wifi 2 (just start hotspot from anywher, - the purpose is just to invoke connection optimizer)
3]next , next till configuring screen
4] When you are on configuring screen , after some time (may even take 30minutes) a dialog/message box of connection optimizer will pop up, scroll down on that and press "here". It will open chrome.
5] In chrome , press menu -> help and feedback->menu -> view in play store.
6]In play store open google (search) app and open it . Search for settings and open it .
7]In settings , goto apps -> find setup wizard , force stop and disable it.
At this point you have successfully bypassed configuring screen. Then on what you do next is up to you!!

I am having a similar problem as the original poster. I reset my phone and the setup wizard is just looping through. I can get to settings if I time it right, so I tried to force stop the setup wizard, but then I can't disable it. When I back out of settings it starts back up. I can't even reset it again because that option is not in the settings anymore. I also can't get to recovery mode by holding the volume down button and power button.
Any other suggestions?

Try to Reflash the phone with LGUP using "Refurbished" mode.

When you enter the device after connection optimizer thing, try to go to file manager and attach any usb otg with rooted file system. After that copy the .img file to internal and root it. After device is rooted, do the same process to get in and follow the procedure on the 1st post .

OMFG I bricked my Touch Pro, need help ASAP please!!

Okay so i updated to Energy's build 21885 for the HTC Touch Pro and everything works fine like usual, and i began to start installing my apps etc.
It all went fine until i started installing some new apps (which might be the reason why it bricked my phone), i think one of the new app i installed was nueUSBKeyboard which is for the CDMA (i didn't read it properly at the start), and my Touch Pro is a GSM, so maybe that's the reason that bricked my fone.
I still don't know what bricked it, but right now when i turn on the fone, it shows the boot information at the very start of the startup, i.e it shows:
R 1. 14. 25. 35 (which is the radio i believe)
G 52. 64c. 25 35
D 5nergy ROM
and it just gets stuck there FOREVER.
I took out my battery and memory card and nothing changes, how do i solve this?? Please help.
Okay after doing some Google & XDA searches, i found a solution which i'm trying out right now. Since my phone could get to the screen with the boot information, and that i can get into the bootloader fine, it seems i can still connect my phone and update the rom.
To get to the bootloader, you press and hold the volume down button, and then you turn on the phone while pressing it. You should get a screen showing you some information and the screen looks red, blue & green.
Then, just plugin your USB and even though it doesn't say it's syncing with your PC (because you need to in order to update the ROM), but just go ahead and update the ROM anyway, it will connect and work.
Right now it's installing and I pray to god this will fix my problem, i will post back and update this, but hopefully anyone who had this problem can give me some other advice in case this doesn't work and hopefully anyone that might have this problem can try this out for themselves. This is the first time i've had a bricked phone.
Just wondering, what are the possible ways that you can brick your phone?? I didn't update the radio or anything, and updating roms is easy and plain as hell, i do that all the time so it can't be it since nothing went wrong, like EVER, and i restarted my fone several times after updating the rom, so it must be one of the new apps i installed for my fone but those are just .cab files that are safe because i got them from XDA itself, and those are very recent released apps too and are for WM 6.5 so i dunno what might have caused it other than nueUSBKeyboard......
EDIT:
Holy crap, it worked! Damn i almost pissed in my pants, god i can't live without a fone. But i would like anyone to give me some advice on what could've bricked my fone in case this happens again, coz i really dunno wot bricked it....
A hard reset would've done the trick.

Did you guys read properly? I said my fone got bricked because it gets stuck at the booting screen.
That's the screen that shows a black background and the word "Touch Pro" in the middle, and it shows your radio & rom information at the bottom right and they're in red colour.
I.E, I'm STUCK at that screen, i can't boot into the rom at all, so how can i even use hard reset? I can't even connect my fone to PC to access the memory card, nor can i use ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Centre to sync with my device so that i can upgrade the rom, which is why i found the solution is to boot into your bootloader screen and then connect the USB, that's the only way it seems.
Edit:
Here, i took a picture showing you guys what i mean, sorry for the quality but you guys get the point, it gets stuck at that screen:

Is it fixed or not? Anyway, performing a hard reset and going into bootloader are pretty much the same thing (hold vol down + OK and soft reset). You can probably hard reset from the bootloader screen, although I've never done it myself.
do a hard reset may resolve this problem by pressing and hold volume down + center button then using stylus to press reset button, when hard reset screen is shown, press vol up button to accept hard reset, do again when done
ya guys, it's solved. I stated that in my 2nd post.....
anyway i didn't know u can hard reset from bootloader screen, now i can try that next time when this happens.
Hard Reset FTW
Hi all,
Just wanted to share that today, after a year of pleasant use on my Fuze, it 'bricked' after I disabled the performance upgrade options in TF3Dconfig and rebooted.
A quick search for "brick" in the Raphael forum led me to do a hard reset. All my texts and customizations are wiped out, but my phone is back up and running. Definitely glad I didn't just accept it as bricked, as I'm not due for an upgrade for 6ish months, and AT&T hasn't got anything for Android phones released yet, so I'd be back on my Wizard (with an english rom flashed onto a T-Mobile Germany-branded device, so funky keyboard action here).
+1 for the hard reset!

Lose your Android device, either to theft or your own forgetfulness, is certainly not fun, that's what happened to my wife last month with my Nexus 7 3G. Google has finally released its response to the loss or theft of your Androphone with Android Device Manager.
It should hit your device soon, if not already, to help you locate or wipe (factory reset) your Android device lost. Here's how to use it.
INSTALL

Click to collapse
Android Device Manager will automatically hit your device without having to do a thing. If you don't have it yet, you will soon receive. But before you can take full advantage of ADM, you will need to do some things, such as allowing factory reset on your device. Its implementation is quite simple..
First, visit google.com/android/devicemanager.
and if you want you can download the apk => com.google.android.gms-1.apk - MD5 Sum: d1884b750aff2dc3ff435f95510420cb - Size: 7.30 MB (7649893 bytes)
From there, a map will pop up with some information about your device, along with a prompt to enable the Erase Device function of ADM. You can either manually open up the green Google Settings app, which should be in your app drawer, or use the send notification link on the ADM webpage, giving you an easy way to find exactly where you need to be to enable remote factory reset.
If you don’t use the notification, just open Google Settings, and select Android Device Manager.
The option to toggle both the ability to factory reset your phone from ADM, and locate it, will be in there.
Using ADM
Click to collapse
After you’ve done that, you’re ready to set to go. At the moment, there are three main functions of Android Device Manager. You can ring a lost phone, factory reset a lost phone or locate your device on a map using your phone's GPS. You can also rename what your device appears as in ADM.
Simply you can load ADM online and will show you the location of your device, but if you’re tracking it while it’s on the move, there’s a refresh button that will recalculate your device’s location.
If your device is located somewhere simply, like in your own house, you may want to use the Ring function. As Google explains, even if your phone is on silent, using the ring function in ADM will force your phone to ring at full volume for five minutes. To turn it off, you have to press the power button on your phone.
There’s nothing on your device indicating why it’s ringing, you’d have to know how to stop the ringing or play around to figure it out.
If you believe your device has been stolen, and you have some precious information on it, then the Erase Device function will come in handy. After you click Erase Device, a pop up will tell you what it will erase (essentially everything), and what will happen after that.
Unfortunately, Google says it “may not be able to wipe the content of the SD card in your device.” Best of luck if you have anything private on there.
If your device is off when you try to factory reset it, have no fear. The moment it’s turned on, it will be erased.
You may think erasing the content of your device is the best thing to do as soon as you find it’s missing, but you may want to hold on. After you erase your device, ADM will not work anymore.

For the moment, that’s all there is to it. As with all of Google’s products, we expect to see more features added in time and more practice

Yes, all seems work I haven't still tried because the apk wasn't release when my N7 has been stolen by the hands of my wife
It should have an option to force-open the gps setting in google settings for accurate device location in case the gps is turned off & lost.
Sent Via I9300, Stock XXUFME7, 4.2.2.
Tanks for helping
In My GS4, ADM is at:
Settings>More>Security>Device Administrators>ADM
You just have to tick it.
Another option is going to ADM webpage and "send a notification to device", it will open the dialogue box in GS4 to authorize remote Factory Reset via ADM.
Hope this helps some.
I had my phone beside me while watching curling the other day and had no clue what adm was. All the sudden my phone started ringing bus I wasn't getting a call so I thought nothing of it until my phone looked like it turned off and on. When it turned back on everything was gone. About 400 photos, all my apps, videos, everything was gone. How did this happen?

General Huawei Mate 8 Performance Issues

Hi,
I've had the Mate 8 for about 4 months now, and have been experiencing a few performance issues:
1. Unresponsive touch screen.
Touch screen will frequently ignore touches. I will often have to double or triple touch.
2. Slow app launching times.
4-5 (sometimes up to 10) second delays when launching apps (IMDB, Boat Browser, Wunderlist). The app will open, but the screen will be blank (white, black or grey) for a few seconds before the app fully loads.
3. Cannot Wake Device.
Occasionally (once a week) the phone will freeze/lock-up while asleep. It heats up and cannot be woken (power button, fingerprint scanner are unresponsive). Force reboot (long press power button) required. This is happening more and more frequently (3 times in last 24 hours). It appears to be some sort of memory leak.
Is anyone else having the same issues? Anyone know of solutions on how to improve/fix any of these issues? Did I get a lemon?
Thanks for any help.
1. Sometimes I have problems to zoom out in Google Maps. Overall touch on Mate 8 is 9.5/10
2. Never. Always fast.
3. It happend 3 times in 6 months that I had to restart my device. Never on Nougat yet.
The symptoms you describe might be caused by a specific app. Try to uninstall crap

Hi,
1. Go to Settings> Smart assistance> and disable the "Touch disable mode" option.
1&2. It sounds like you might have some apps that drain resources. Reboot your device in Safe Mode by holding the Power down button during boot and see if the issues manifest themselves in Safe Mode. If they are still there, you might want to consider servicing your device.
Hope this helps,
Cheers

I have uninstalled a heaps of apps, but am still getting the phone freezing (every second day at the moment). Has anyone got any tips of ways to find which app is causing the system to hang?
Updating to latest firmware may help you as it helped me also!

Sorry for the late reply.
I have upgraded the to the latest firmware & factory reset (a while ago now), and the phone's performance has been great ever since. Should have done it sooner.
Thanks again.

Hi, thanks! I did try clearing the cache. But it didn't help even after that.
I also have tried updating the phone to the yesterday's recent system update and still it didn't help.
Will have to hard reset it, but that's a task! if there's any solution without hard reset?
TIA!

I just now tried System wipe from the power + vol up button menu,
Even tried clearing system cache.
Post system wipe all my apps are gone. Except storage data.
Also on reaching the fingerprint setup on first boot the system hung and got caught in a loop of not going back, nor the fingerprint icon did appear instead of the numpad.
I'm not even sure if it's software or hardware now.
The fingerprint animation in customisation menu when clicked says "this feature will be available when fingerprint is on".
Clicking on "Turn on fingerprint" directs to "Security and lockscreen" menu, with no fingerprint option.
Really need some help.

Cannot Unlock Phone - Cannot Update USB Driver - Resolved

I've read other posts, applied some of the suggestions, but have not been able to solve this issue. I have the current Mi Flash, I have added my account to Developer options, enabled USB debugging. added Mi account to Mi Unlock status, and oem unlock, I have turned off wifi and am using cell data. My Mi account is OK, Sim accepted. I hear the Windows notification when I plug in the phone. I don't see the phone in Explorer when I'm in bootloader. I do when the phone is not in bootloader. I have logged into Mi Account with my phone # and email address - same error either way.
Issue, I start Mi Flash and after signing in, this message briefly appears on the screen, "Checking if your Mi Account has permissions". This message disappears and then Mi Flash goes to the next screen. I follow the instructions to the letter and finally plug my phone (several times) in (it is bootloader). The Unlock button on the bottom stays grey.

I wait and wait and it doesn't change. I open settings, I click the button to install the drive - I get an error:
At this point I'm stuck. I'm not sure its a driver error - the phone connects to my laptop OK and I have been able to transfer files. MTP is set default to "Transfer Files" vs charging.
As an update, I found the Poco in Device Manager, Portable devices with the following driver:
I'm guessing that this might not be the correct driver, but am not sure.
I would appreciate help with this problem. I hate the bloat Miui serves up and would like to move on to a ROM that it simple and safe. Thanks
I can't unlock too
I'm still trying to figure this out and need help. I connect to the phone through USB OK. I can access it via file explorer as a drive labelled Poco X3 NFC. I can add files via explorer and search through the phone. However, I installed Mi Suite to check drivers and with the phone connected Mi Suite pops a screen that says connect to device to usb. It already is, but I unplug and plug back in anyways, same error then it changes to this:
So its odd that it connects to the PC but does not seem to connect to the internet or Mi Suite. Is there a better USB driver to use for this. I found a Qualcom driver V1 and an adb driver R-13 Windows.
Well you have the needed Windows driver than.
Check Windows app/system error messages for clues. You may be missing a MS library or such.

I'm on W7x64. Goggle it. It you use Windows you should have discovered this important system app within you first year.
Example:
Side by side errors used to be common; missing x64 MS library (you need 2, one for 32 bit and one for x64). Sometime the apk developer fails to included in their app software; they don't need as it was needed to code the app. To run the app and get full functionality on a 64 bit system you need both libraries; a simple download from MS.
Perhaps they are now included in the 64 bit OS's unlike the XPx64 days however it's also possible the file got corrupted or deleted if so.
This is the kind of critical information MS Event Viewer can show you. It records App/System/Security events with a time stamp.
OK, this is solved. This time I went through the unlock process on my wife's Win 10 laptop. Drivers loaded, windows setup the Poco. Same thing, greyed out unlock button. I clicked on the button to install the driver and this time the driver install completed, versus the error I posted above. The screen popped back to the Unlock screen, with the Unlock button live. I clicked on one confirmation screen after the other until I got the confirmation to wait 143 hours to unlock. Glad this frustrating event is over. Hope it works at 143 hours too. Of note, I did turn off wifi and used data to unlock. I read somewhere to do do that. No idea if it made a difference.
Yay! Windows can get funny about loading drivers sometimes. You just need to play with it a bit many times to resolve the issue.
Keep Event Viewer in mind though as it can show you errors that are slowing your system down, security issues and more.
