Hello dear fellow xda-developers.
In my quest of learning "compiling android kernel from source", here I am, stuck and feeling helpless to add sweep2wake feature to my kernel.
Since I am learning the things, I have started to work on a legacy device "HTC Pico (Explorer)"
Till now, I have learned to -
i. Compile my own kernel (of-course)
ii. Added some governors (lionheart, etc.)
iii. Added fastcharge
Is anyone here who can teach me to add sweep2wake and doubletap2wake feature in the kernel ?
Any type of help or link to reference can be quiet useful. Thank You !!!
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. The purpose of XDA assist is to point you in the right direction, not provide technical assistance. I see you are also asking about this in other threads so I'm going to close this one.

Firstly, apologies but as a new member I cannot post to the developers area.
I want to know if anyone has put any effort into a port of android to satio? I believe the first part shouldn't be too challenging as Android has already been compiled to the OMAP3430 SoC. I am familiar with setting up an arm cross-compiling toolchain and have worked with the arm9260 chipset in this regard (including writing kernel drivers).
As I haven't developed for a phone before, I'm not sure how easy it is to access the bootloader and download a new kernel.
Beyond that I'm in new territory regards the neceeasry drivers and accessibility to the information to develop the kernel code required
I look forward to your comments.
Regards, Steve

Hi @juan503.
Congrats on your working kernel!
Since we here at XDA Assist merely point you in the right direction, we do not provide tech support; I cannot answer all your questions.
There is however quite a few threads on how to add features to a kernel, and what you don't find in them you can ask there.
Check these out:

Hello there, I have bought Wikipad WPT500 recetly, updated it and managed to set boot.img as insecure and root completely. Thing is, it's quite old already, so I would like to OC kernel a bit or at least install twrp. It has potential, that's for sure. Thing is, there's no source available. I;ve contacted dev team from them but no response.
Does anyone know the way to modify kernel (OC it, i know there's no way to add schedulers or governonrs without sources) or compile TWRP without sources, based on stock images ?
Please understand XDA Assist Mission as highlighted in the First Sticki thread in this forum.
The mission of XDA Assist is to provide basic help to those who have tried searching but can't find what they are looking for and need assistance. This is not a "helpdesk" providing technical assistance but more to point you in the correct direction with your problem. Perhaps you can't find posts on how to root your phone, install custom recovery or maybe you have questions about how to navigate and use features on the site.

Having said that given you are a Senior member, you should be able to find out where such a question should be posed.
Thread Closed. Thank you.
Hey there,
I tried to compile a CM12.1 based ROM but ended up having a Sustem UI FC on bootup.I did try to compile the ROM with adb enabled but my device was not getting detected in the adb.So a random guy told me to add this (PRODUCT PREBUILT WEBVIEWCHROMIUM := yes ) to my device BoardConfig.mk file. Now the question is - will adding this line help me out with the SystemUI error? Also, should I use the prebuilt libwebchromium.so file or build it from source? What are the benefits if I build it from source? Do reply.
Thanks

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. The purpose of XDA Assist is not to supply technical support but to point you in the right direction to get that support. I see you've posted a similar question here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/chef-central/android/build-freezes-building-t2996934/page2 That is the best place to ask your question. So I'm going to close this post.
Long story short: I compiled my kernel from source (G900F) and added schedulers and governors. Haven't seen any articles regarding hotplug drivers, anyone there that knows how to add one or modify one?
I looked at other's source on their git but I just can't understand how and where should I look.
bump. Anyone that can really help me? I posted questions regarding this, ask some devs, searched for hours, and whatnot.
