After I root my OPO, its rooted. When I reboot it, root has disappeared. I just have to reflash it every time but sometimes reflashing it doesn't work. Does anyone have any idea what's happening and how to fix it. Cheers in advance.

How do you root it? What build?
Flash zip through recovery. Usually latest one on the chain fire website. On latest cm12s

Just wanted to know if its possible to root (towel root) flash custom recovery and custom roms and then if I decide to later revert totally back to stock unrooted nexus without a PC. Ive attempted to read up on this but I'm a little confused that ill need to use SDK and ADB which i can't have access to at the moment or have the skills to use.
I've seen apps on google play to unlock boot loader once towel rooted but I'm just unsure if i can revert totally back to an unrooted nexus 5 with original recovery, without a pc as I'm using an iMac and having really unreliability with it :/
Id greatly appreciate any help :good:

You may need a computer to return to stock but otherwise you shouldn't need a pc

The nexus devices are the easiest devices to get back to stock because Google supplies the stock images

There are a couple different options.
I'm not sure if flashify requires a unlocked bootloader. Root, flash custom recovery with flashify, make a backup. When you are done either restore backup or if stock already use flashify to flash stock recovery, delete root apps, unroot via supersu.
Boot unlocker I have heard will work to lock and unlock boot loader but I'm not sure about resetting the tamper flag.
Using fastboot and adb is always going to be the surest and safest way to root etc. Unless you are going to be submitting your phone for RMA there should be no reason to unroot. You can always flash a stock rooted ROM and just leave it.

Steps are;
-Download boot unlocker fr on play
-Download flashify from play (just in case)
-Download vomers stock ROM (number 6 in resources section in the link in my signature)
-Download stock recovery (number 7 in resources section in the link in my signature)
Firstly, flash the recovery zip via your current recovery and reboot
Then, reset The tamper flag and lock the boot loader
Finally, open SuperSU and use the full indoor option to remove Root
Good as new.

Sorry for the noobish question that I should know, but it's been a while since I've used an HD.
I picked up a used HD on 9.18.94. Can I simply sideload 183.46.10 and run the bootloader unlock? My first goal is the bootloader then I can flash root and unlock the radios so my wife can use it on ATT

Yep, just upgrade straight to .10, unlock, root, and you'll be good.

just use this, less hassles.
What are you trying to flash? The FXZ needs to be flashed in RSD.

So my laptop is in repair and I just got the g3. I have rooted with stump and just need to install TWRP but without a computer if possible. Is it doable?
Sent from my LG-D850 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You can use flashify
You can get it from the Google play store and install the TWRP that it downloads automatically but you have to download and flash one of the "Bumped" ones from available here on the XDA forums in order to install custom ROM's.
Well u mean flashify from Google play? Then I'll have to flash the recovery from the bump threads?
Sent from my LG-D850 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yeah download bumped twrp on your phone ...and use flashify to flash the recovery.img.

I guess I'll prefer to wait for someone with the time and knowledge to do it !!! Thanks . Going to start reading a lot . If you are able to get root with that software please let me know
It didn't work. I flashed to stock, took the update, and tried it, but it was a no go.

Did you tryied both? Smart and regular?
Yup. Both processes state that they succeeded, but when I try to install SuperSU, it says that there is no superuser binary.

Ok well at least was worth to try...
If someone running the latest AT&T update, IIRC 21p, could take a nandroid and upload the system, boot, and modem partitions it would help me out a lot.
Don't have a PC at the moment so I can't go back to stock to take the OTA for fear of losing root and custom recovery.
Preferably with no debloat or changes other than root (or Viper )
Thanks.
+1

Thank you. That'll help out quite a bit.
I'm up and running on 20f, just waiting for the update to show up. When I search for updates it thinks I'm up to date.

My Atrix HD was slow like that.
Did you try *#*#checkin#*#*
Sometimes that'll make an OTA show up.
Still no luck, so I'm gonna try a factory reset.

Try taking out the SIM card and checking for the update on WiFi after a couple reboots. Works for me every time, of the update is 100% available.
