I have a galaxy s4 SGH-l337 provider is Att. I never rooted/hacked/flashed/done anything to my phone, it's all stock/basic.
Been a few days now after the android version V5.0.1 upstalled itself onto my phone. It's awful I wanted to get the new android version graviton, but before i can i need to root my phone. I haven't had success with using the popular rooting software because they do not support my version. So i am looking to revert back to kitkat and then to graviton. But, before i can revert back to kitkat i need the firmware file, and the place i went to had all but my phones model
Have i hit a dead end until lolipop works with a root program?
Thanks for the time. CraigK
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. You can flash back to nb1. See this ,http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2616221. Also see this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att. All your questions can be answered there. Don't forget to register on XDA to post questions in that forum.

Downloaded the toolkit from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2052779
I have the AT&T SGH-I317... unfortunately, the toolkit lists the Android version of my phone as 4.1.1, but my phone automatically downloaded and installed 4.1.2 the first time I used it the other day. My question is, do I need to wait for the toolkit to be updated with 4.1.2 for my specific phone, or alternatively, would it be safe to use the 4.1.1 version in the toolkit, or use one of the other ones listed as version 4.1.2.
I'm perfectly happy to wait if necessary. Don't want to take any chances of messing up my new phone. This will be my first rooting or unlocking of any kind. I'm an adept PC user but phones are new territory for me.
So, if someone knows how I should proceed, I'd be very grateful for the assistance. I'm asking this here because I'm a new member and can't yet post in the developer forums.
Thanks!
I haven't tried the toolkit since the latest update. I know the Sprint version has CF-Auto root. Check your thread for that one. It worked for me after the 4.1.2 update with no issues.

Okay so I have a question about Lollipop rolling out for LG G2 owners. I have the 32 gb LG g2 rooted and flashed to page plus. I just want to know would it be safe to update to lollipop OTA. would I lose my root or the flash at all?
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. Since you're rooted and have a custom rom the Lollipop OTA will fail to install on your device. It won't hurt it if it tries but it will fail. In order for the OTA to work you have to be 100% stock. You can see this on how to that, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 but it's probably easiest to just flash the lollipop stock firmware. Back up first though off your device. Also see this for further information, http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2

hi sorry I wasn't signed in. I wanted to say that I'm on the stock Rom still. I just have the phone flashed so I could use page plus as a carrier.

Hi everyone,
I'm on the jump program with T-mobile and am sending back my One M9 because I got a Note 5. My M9 is rooted, S on, TWRP and running Android Revolution.
I tried going back to stock using a guide on xda, but it is not working (I had used it in the past to update the firmware, but the nandroid used is for a previous firmware version).
I am resorting to sending it back as is, with a stock-like rom and rooted. Will they even check? What happens if they have issues with it rooted?
I have seen other threads but they are old and there is a lot of conflicting information.
Thanks

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
We cannot provide technical support nor can other members reply to your posts here on XDA Assist but I see that you have already reposted in the correct M9 forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...ing-rooted-t3194470/post62680623#post62680623 where others may be able to advise you. Since T-Mobile devices are unlocked, I would suspect that T-Mobile won't care much about your firmware as long as the device hardware is intact, but only they know for sure.
Good luck!

Although I couldn't find any root methods for my galaxy S5 active I seen something about downgrading it to 4.4.2 to use towelroot. I ran into an internet problem trying to download the firmware, fixed that. Then Odin started having problems before it started downgrading. Is it possible to downgrade? Its running the OF3 bootloader and after doing some research I found some people saying it's locked and impossible to downgrade. So is it possible To downgrade a SM-G870A running the 5.0 lollipop update with the OF3 bootloader? Or is there some kind of root available for it? Or even someway to unlock the bootloader without losing all my data? I've been trying to figure something out for 3 days straight now.
Thanks.
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
After reading this thread, it seems that you can't downgrade to Kitkat.
Please feel free to open a new thread in your dedicated Q&A forum. New solutions may have been found...
Good luck!
I have rooted mine and put a custom rom with 4.4.2, but i'm getting notified that there is an update by LG. Does anyone know what version this update is for, as I can't find any info on it anywhere, and if it's just going to put me back on stock 4.4.2 there's no point me doing it.
Thanks

Hi, Thanks for using XDA assist
It looks like there is no dedicated forum for your device, however
There is a general forum for android here http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help where you can try to ask to get expert's help.
Good luck.
