[Q] Samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 p5110 possibly bricked - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone, yesterday I tried to change my tablet's rom from android 4.1 to kitkat 4.4.4 using TWRP, after install TWRP and reboot it, the tablet stopped work. I can't turn it on and my pc doesn't recognise it. I removed the battery to turn it off and to be sure that wasn't the problem but with no solution. Anybody has a solution?. Thanks

Can you get into recovery or download mode?
BTW, I am notifying a moderator to move this into the Galaxy Tab Q&A section.

Nope, I can't access to recovery or download mode. I can't even turn on the device.

Did you flash a ROM for a different device? It sounds like it is definitely bricked. Probably, your only choices are jtag or a new tablet. JTag for the 10.1 inch tab is $50 from mobiletechvideos.com but they are currently working on a lot of devices and not accepting new orders for now.

Maybe is the wrong model. I installed it using CWM recovery. Anyway, tomorrow I'll give my tablet to a specialist.
Thanks for the answers.

P.s. sorry for my english
Can you get to download mode?

No, I cannot access either to the fastboot mode, or in recovery!! To access to download mode, I ordered an USB Jig on ebay, but it will arrive next week! Do you know if it works?
Thanks
There is a gnu/linux tool called unbrickableMod by adam outler, it can be found from android development section. Try that.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA

Hi Cesco, sorry for your problem. I thought that if the rom would have been not suitable for the phone it would have advice you. Can I ask you the link of the jig you bought? I think is good to always have one...

Thank you Cesco! I think that if it doen't turn on, there's not other choice to use the Jig to turn it in download mode!
Anyway, are you the cesco of androidiani.com? If you solve you problem, you have to implement unbricking in your tool!

Ok, but I'm not sure that I can solve with the JIG!
Yes, I'm on Androidiani.com, but my tool can't solve an hard brick because are needed the JIG Usb and (if it works) ODIN Downloader, to reflash the bootloader.
If I can resurrect my phone I could write a tutorial to help the users with a problem like the mine..
Anyway I haven't yet figured out if, with the jig is 100% sure that I solve this problem. Have you never used it?
Thanks!

No, Cesco. I'm a lucky man and never needed this Jig. But you know, for only 3euros I want to be ready for the worst. I usually flash a lot. Let me know if it work!
Ok, last question, I found a post on androidiani.com says that in this case, the jig is not working, so, do you think that Samsung assistance accepts it?

I really don't know the warranty policy, but consider the warranty as the last thing. Try that jig, then you'll see what to do. The pc cannot see the phone plugged to usb neither with the PdaNet?
Try to open a thread on androidiani, maybe there's someone that have had your same experience!

[Q] Samsung galaxy tab 2 7.0 stuck in BOOT LOOP!!!!!

ok i have had my samsung galaxy tab 2 7" for about a couple months now and i have a bit of a problem. I have been hearing about everyone trying rooting their devices and how cool it is because of all the customization that you can do wit it. So i decided to give it a shot and it worked out ok. I have had a rooted device for about a couple of days and everything was fine and then i forgot to charge my tablet one night and it died. So i went to go back and charge it and to my suprise nothing was happening. It got as far as the charging animation for like 1 sec and then it shuts off and does it all over again. It is making me so mad because i cant do anything. I cant reboot it or anything like that. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!
Nothing to panic. Download the stock firmware and flash it via odin.
It would gt normal.

For now, yes. TWRP seems to work quite well, though. I think we should be thankful we had a custom recovery right when the phone came out.

{SOLVED} Lost root after flashing CM12.1

Hello guys, I'm new to this forum but not to Android. I'm familiar with Samsung devices coming from a S3 mini. So I was wanting to root my Galaxy tab 2 7" (GT-P3110) but don't have access to a computer currently. So I got to digging and found a Chinese app called "Root Master" which worked for the device. I was on stock and it was successful. After doing so I flashed CM12.1 and gapps to then find I lost my custom recovery and root. I tried rooting it again with the application but with no success. Any suggestions/help would be much appreciated.

Oh boy... Does Cm 12 boot? If so, go into developer settings and set root access to 'Apps & ADB' and turn off 'Update CM Recovery when ROM updates'.

Yeah, everything runs completely fine. I just lost root and recovery. I'll give it a go. Thanks.

So is everything working for you now? You can get recovery again by flashing the latest TWRP from @Android-Andi's recovery thread through Odin or Heimdall.
Have a great day!
Yeah, everything is fine and TWRP was still installed so need to do anything else.

Yes I already tried
But smartswitch said that the phone does not allow data transfer via usb.
I can't use touch. Every rom I flashed does not make the touchscreen work.
I saw on youtube that some said to get back to marshmallow. But I heard that could lead to loosing the imei.
What should I do?
