Hi there,
When I come to the forums without logging in, a nice mobile optimised version of the site appears. When I login I get a normal version of the site. Is there a setting somewhere in able to change?
Thanks
Hi, thank you for issued XDA Assist. I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you using the mobile app or a browse?
Just browsing on Chrome
Thanks
Personally, logging into XDA with chrome gives you more options. But have you tried the XDA app from the play store. That works well too.
Yeah I have, but like using the browser as normal... Just a little confused why when logged in I get a different view

Anyone notice the browser has no function on Google today? Or is my browser the only one having issues?

Same here, I just search via the address bar.
I'm also getting stock browser close itself automatically with no error, could be flash or JavaScript.
same problem here, looks like started after a new flash update.
It was working fine yesterday. It appears that Java is causing it. If I turn Java off the iss is gone. But then heck y have a tablet if u can't use the Java! Where do we go to tell Google about this?

I found that if I disable Java, open a search, then re-enable Java, it seems to resolve the problem.

Only for a bit, then it goes right back to not working. Java needs to fixed.

It's just today's Google image thing. I'm sure it will be fine later.

have you tried looking on market.android.com? It should show you any recent purchases under my account or you can also look under my library too and see if you can find it there too.
this was a free app. how can I see history using the old market app?
ok. I see where you meant. the app is not showing anywhere...sucks

When I start it ti's giving me an error and does nothing. How can I fix that?
Try googling the app name to see if someone has the apk hosted. Usually works for me when the crap market search engine fails to locate apps I've downloaded and used many times in the past.

I want to run Google maps and YouTube apps rather than the browser versions, but there is no option I can select like my p1000 had when I clicked a link. Any way to do this? The browser versions suck.

I have no trouble running the apps. In fact, I think it came with the YouTube app installed.

Yes they're both pre-installed it just doesn't goto the app when a YouTube link is pressed, it just plays it in the browser and no choice to use the app instead

I don't have my Tab at work, so I'll check when I get home, but I didn't think that they opened in the browser. Youtube may (I don't remember for certain), but I'm almost certain Google maps does not. Of course, I may have just be oblivious to it, so I'll have to check to be sure.

Have you tried updating or reinstalling the apps from the Marketplace?
Just took a closer look. Maps is a standalone app (I think it was around 30 MB). YouTube doesn't open in the normal browser, but i do think it's possibly just a link that opens the browser with certain functions disabled as it's only 68k, but doesn't have the normal browser menu options.

I don't think I am getting my message across clearly. This is an example. If you install a new browser and then do a Google search, it will then ask you which browser to open up the search with. This is how it is on my p1000 with map links and YouTube links when browsing and pressing links. On the p6200 it is not giving this option. It just runs them inside of the browser.

YouTube is pre-installed and not on the market here with Honeycomb. Maps is up to date and reinstalled. I just think its something usefull that has been removed from Honeycomb. Maybe Google think the web versions are just as good on honeycomb which I would disagree with.

Seems to only be from the browser. If I open a link outside of the browser it gives me the option for the apps..Its odd why they have made it this way.
OK, I did misunderstand you. I see what you're saying now, and I think mine does exactly the same thing. Not sure if there's an option to change that default behavior or not.

Weird. Mine works exactly as it should. When I click on a YouTube link from the Dolphin browser (don't use the stock browser), a pop-up will ask me what I want to open it with and the YouTube app is one of the choices. Same thing with Maps. Maybe it's a browser setting in your tablet? What browser are you using? Or is the problem that you have a non-US tablet model (different stuff set up for international models)?
Yes it's a browser issue, I use stock. I've tried dolphin browser and it works fine with links to external apps.

Sorry if already mentioned elsewhere but is there a way to have android follow email links according to installed applications. For instance, if I click a link in Gmail for responding to an XDA thread, I want it to open XDA app not the browser. Without this option, the app is fairly useless for my needs. Thanks!

Currently nope...people usually use the app for forum discussions...it's not a web browser...won't respond to external links...
Hi all:
I'm using QuBeX's Lollipop ROM and TWRP on my OPO and, all in all, am pretty satisfied with the setup.
One niggling problem, though. Some times, when interacting with the system, the browser starts automatically, takes me to a redirect site, which then opens up the Play Store app with some random app that it suggests I install. I've seen both Uber and Lyft suggested.
I can't figure out what triggers this, but it seems to happen more in the XDA Free app.
Had anything else seen this? Any pointers for figuring out / fixing the issue?

BTW, the URL for the redirect page is always www.pxlvlt2.com, if that helps.
