[Q] Help with retail USA XT1032 (Can't see sim) - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought a 16gb moto g when they were released straight from the motorola website.
USA, using an AT&T sim.
After a while, I unlocked in and played around, and the last thing I've done was follow this guide to update to 5.1.
(It won't let me post a link, just append /watch?v=vPwsdN66spM to youtube.)

[Q] Reboot loop after 4.4.2 update to 4.4.4

Okay so I have just updated my phone yesterday as I got a notification saying there was an update to 4.4.4 so I downloaded it and installed it and now the phone is stuck in a boot loop, is there any possible way that you can make simple for me as I am new to rooting and flashing phones, this was my first ever time.
Thanks for any help or advice in advance.

Okay so after doing a couple days research and listening to you guys, I found out when I rooted I didn't flash a recovery... So yeah I installed CWM recovery and then wiped cashe partision and it worked. When I wiped it, it came up saying to "fix root" as I may have lost in then I clicked yes then booted straight away. That's it fixed now.
Thank you for your help everyone!

When the phone is rebooting, press and hold power down, you'll then get into Fastboot. From there, go to Recovery using the volume down key and when selected, press the volume up to select. If it tries to install the update again, don't let it reboot into the ROM - when the recovery restarts itself, make sure you hold volume down again.

It doesn't work it just keeps rebooting and coming up with the "bootloader unlocked" screen after itself
1. With the phone powered off, press the VOL UP + VOL DOWN KEY together + POWER KEY .
2. The device will display different BOOT OPTIONS
3. Use the VOL DOWN Key to SCROLL to Recovery and VOL UP Key to SELECT
Tip: If the device reboots, you may have waited to long to make a selection, you will need to begin the process again.
4. The device will display the Motorola logo and then the Android in distress ( logo with Exclamation mark)
5. Press and hold the VOL DOWN key, then tap and release the VOL UP key.
Tip: You can try this step, holding the phone in landscape. If you are stuck on step 5, try a force reboot by pressing the power Key and Vol Down key, and start the process again.
6. The device will display additional menu options (Text will appear in BLUE)
7. Use the VOL DOWN Key to scroll to wipe cache partition and the POWER Key to SELECT this option.
8. The device will then perform the partition wipe
9. Once the Formatting is complete, press the POWER key to confirm a REBOOT
11. The device will reboot and start the normal power up sequence .
worked for me.....

Still none the wiser how to update to 4.4.4 though! I mean surely with a rooted phone there is an app to do it these days???
u can try this
if you have unlock bootloader and can go to fastboot mode,.try to flash your moto g using your 4.4.2 stock rom by manually (you can search how to do it),.flash partition gpt and motoboot (ignore the error),reboot bootloader and finished the rest command..flash phil touch recovery and reboot ro recovery,go to install zip, choose install zip from sideload then send your phone update using sideload command.
that"s solved my problems when i'm getting stuck on blank screen after unlock bootloader warning or only booting to recovery,i'm on 4.4.2 when get that error.
but now in my case,i should go to fastboot mode and choose normal powerup to make my phone booting normally,.because if i'm power on using power button, moto g booting to recovery, not a big deal for me as long as my phone back to the track hehehe
my moto g is o2 germany, but i'm flashing with 4.4.2 germany retail and 4.4.4 update for germany retail.

[Marshmallow][official] Android 6.0 official update for sparkle v

OTA links are already there on xda, but here was no specific thread for sparkle v so i am writing one
Google has released the OTA files for sparkle v and other android one devices.
NOTE: To update your phone using OTA files your phone should be running Stock lollipop or atleast stock recovery
If you are running a custom rom or custom recovery then before proceeding to this guide you must revert back to stock lollipop using sp flash tool
Pre-requisites: 1.Your phone should be atleast 60% charged
2. Back up all important data (just to be safe)
3. Make sure you have the stock lollipop rom so that you can get your phone back if anything goes wrong.
GUIDE-
Sparkle V users can easily update their device by following these steps:
Step 1: Download the official Marshmallow OTA file from here https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota/google_sparklevsprout_sparklev/d1178816334e0c160d435ab0a88f78a5005053c0.signed-sprout-karbonn-ota-2280749-omit-oem.zip
Step 2: Connect your smartphone to computer using the original USB cable.
Step 3: Copy and paste the OTA zip files to phone's storage and make a note of its location.
Step 4: Boot your smartphone into recovery mode or stock recovery: Disconnect the phone from computer, and then turn it off.
Press and hold both the Volume and the Power buttons until the display turns on and enters bootloader mode.
Hit the volume button to open the Recovery menu and then press the power button to select it. Your phone should now boot into recovery mode.
At this moment, a dead Android with an exclamation mark should appear on the screen. Now press and hold Power button for three seconds and then hit the Volume up button once to progress into recovery mode.
Step 5: Return to the main recovery screen and choose 'install update from sdcard'.
Step 6: Then select the OTA zip file using the volume buttons for navigation and the Power button to select any file or open a folder. After you select the zip file, confirm its installation and the update should start installing on your device.
Step 7: Once the installation is done, return to main screen of recovery. Choose Reboot system now to restart the phone and boot into the newly installed Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update from Google.
Voila!! You are running official Android 6.0
I found this on ibtimes. I HAVE JUST COPY PASTED the guide for convenience. Hit thanks if helped.

Unable to Boot in Safe Mode

Just rooted MOTO G XT1033.
Unlocked bootloader and flashed TWRP latest and then flashed SU binary from ZIP. I am on Stock 5.1 (Latest for XT1033).
Want to go to Safe Mode but not able to, every time booting normally.
Steps I followed:
Long press power button, hold the popup "Power off" and then click "OK" when it asks the confirmation to boot in Safe Mode.
After this phone is switching off and when its ON it is in normal boot.
If anybody can help me with this.
Please let me know if I am missing something or anything additional?

I need fast help!!!!!!

I did a a misstake, I was going to do a retore to original Stock Kit Kat, I was on Linage OS 7.1.
I did the restore and forgot to install the Kitkat baseline, kernel(_to_10f.zip).
The phone got the _to_20f.zip right now.
The problem is because I forgot the install the _to_10f.zip the phone just freezes at the lg logo with the moving circle.
If there is a complete correct installed Sotck KitKat, I can press down volume down and power button together and then release powernutton when LG Logo is shown and then press powerbutton again to enter recovery which isnt possible now and If I am on a correct installation on Linage 7.1 I press the volume up and hold power button and when the Lg Logo is shown I release the powerbutton but keep pressing the volume up till the recovery mode comes up.
Now I can do neither of them, It seems that beacuse of wrong kernel it wont work with none of those to ways of entering recovery mode
The only thing a I can access is the donwload mode which I enter by pressing down and then connect a usb cable from the pc. It gives the message USER B5 with grey text and ROOTED with red text.
Is it possible to connect the phone to a pc and install the _to_10f.zip ?

I fix it by using LG Flassh Tool and installing the original Sotck Lollipop.
Now a new problem, how do I root Lollipop D838 with lollipop?

Exactly what I was going to do But I dont find the origianl kdz file for the kitkat 4.4
I think I succeded in rooting the phone, but after installing the twrp apk and reboot into recovery I got a new error:
demigod crash handler critical error.
So the best thing is to find the kdz file.
