Fingerprint problem - Ascend Mate 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm having problem with my finger print recognition. It always says "doesn't match". I wonder anyone solved this yet?

I've noticed that and enrolled the same digit as a new print that improved response

Mine works about 9 out of 10 times. Try to redo the print match?

Actually like I wrote leave the registration in and re register the same finger again. Improves recognition

I tried that and got an error message because the fingerprint was already registered. I've like re-registered my fingerprint for ten times now until I finally got it to work right 95% of the time.

I've registered the same finger by starting it another location, it improves recognition accuracy

Bug: Touch Screen Inactive after Scrolling

In Setting or certain apps, when I scroll up or down to the end, there will be 1 to 1.5 seconds that the screen is not responding to any touch. Tested with two mate 8s, 32gb and 64gb, both on b170 firmware. I believe it is a system UI issue. Hope it will be fixed.

I guess that's normal since my AL-10 does it (I never really noticed it until your post) I'm not sure if it's actually a bug or if it happens on other phones.
yes ive had it as well but never really noticed it until this thread either i have the impression that its due to data being loaded in the background, i.e. threads loading up in tapatalk

+1 noticed before this thread.
Wasnt a big deal for me (not only in b170 i faced the issue - before i had this too)
Have the same issue on my LG G3 since i updatet to 6.0. Its on some Sites until they have finished loading.
Same on my huawei mate 8. Is there any solution to fix it? It's very annoying.

Fingerprint ID not in settings [mate 8 nxt-al10C00B172]

Hello everyone. I just purchased a used mate 8 nxt-al10 for $100 Cad . The screen is shattered other than that it works great. The "fingerprint ID" isn't anywhere in the settings so I can't use the scanner. Any suggestions? Could it be the drop that broke the screen dislodged the ribbon cable for the scanner?
Any help would be awesome!
Thanks
u can try and do a factory reset, see if that helps. other than that, anything is possible @internal damage...

I tried the factory reset and it still does not show up then I opened up the phone and the connector seems fine. Not sure what to do now. Maybe I should flash the international rom and see if that works?

I can't post links yet but the youtube jerryrigeverything has a teardown video that will help you. It's pretty simple
Anyone?
is the cable connection fine on both ends? does the cable itself look alright or damaged in any way?

Nope the cable looks to be in perfect shape. I'll post some pictures when I can but it looks good under the hood. Does your mate 8 have a small line on the scanner where it looks to be darker on the bottom?
Also random question is there a guide for flashing the international Rom with steps for beginners? Last time I rooted a phone was my nexus 5 3 years ago.
OK so I'm officially running kangvip slim b180.... And still no fingerprint ID in settings!!! I'm going to assume it's a hardware issue and order a new scanner. If anyone has any better ideas let me know.
Thanks !

Hello I used this website to order it. I haven't received it yet but it seems like a reliable source for parts.
Also when yours stopped working did it not show up in your settings anymore?? Knowing that would be a big help.
Thanks!

Huawei Mate 8 kills protected and "ignore battery optimization" apps

Hi,
The rom is B320 rooted.
It has been now 3 time that it killed the Alarm Clock Xtreme which is both selected as a protected app and as an app that can ignore battery optimization. this is really annoying ! it is making my phone totally useless and unreliable.
This also happens to other apps like Gmail , instant messaging apps.
Has anyone encountered this problem?
Please help
Same here. Anyone?
I've reported this issue some days ago.

As basimzanaty mentioned, make them "system-apps". Titanium Backup Pro got this option, but you can do it manually with a root file-explorer.
Facing the same issue , Any suggestion for a non rooted device.

Has anyone been able to use the finger print sensor to swipe down to the notification

I feel that this is an obvious feature that should already been there but do any of the ROMs have this feature?
Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
I would love to have this feature back as well.
Using Finger Print Quick Action from PlayStore. It works when I assign toggle notification to single tap action
GravityBox if you use Xposed also works.

Google said that about the Nexus 6P and then a couple weeks later we had the fingerprint sensor able to swipe down for notifications. So that is probably not true.

It is.
1. take a look at the hardware sheet.
2. the fingerprint sensor is too small so recognize in which direction you swiped.

Weird Fingerprint sensor issue

i have bought a samsung note 10 lite 2 days ago, and i'm facing a problem with the fingerprint sensor, when i try to unlock the phone, it won't respond to my finger at all, i have to relock the screen and unlock it again to work
What could possibly be the reason ?
Thanks in advance
I have the exact same issue on my 10 lite. I gave up trying to figure it out. A friend of mine has 10 lite and he has no issues at all.
Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
I have managed to fix it by setting show icon when screen is off to "on always on display"
Disable optimise battery for com.samsung.android.biometric and it should make the fingerprint faster and more reliable.
Has anyone figured this out? It's driving me crazy.

Thanks. Fingerprint sensor is working much better now. Even more it's working like charm and now Im using it like it should always be

Wait I'm on One UI 2.1 and the system tells me that it is already up to date... How did you get 2.5 ?
It's rolling out now for some regions.
Sent from my SM-N770F using XDA Labs
You can try other regions. My device is HongKong TGY I use it in United States on At&t but flashed Spain PHE firmware that is 2.5. I rooted it and it works just fine. And finger print is much better on 2.5
