[SOLVED] Question regarding Updating HBOOT - HTC One S

I am trying to install the newest ROMs available in this forum but most of them require to update to HBOOT 2.15 or 2.16
but I don't know what steps I should take. in some other thread it was suggested to use RUU but Im not able to find the RUU for my phone ( ORANGE mobile)
Please let me know what is the easiest way to update HBOOT ( and also s-off the phone)
P.S. I have already unlocked the phone and installed custom ROM and kernel ( ROM MIUI-4.4.25 and kernel 3.4.10-Bulletproof-1.4+)

You didn't specify on which hboot you're currently on...

You should first get S-Off to update your hboot. I used rummrunner for that and it was easy. Afyer that you can flash another hboot and get rid of that red warning too

Thank you Rapier, I was able to flash to hboot 2.15; now I have one more question, in your experience which one is better 2.16 or 2.15?
I did the following steps (if any one is intrested to know):
1. used rumrunner (as Rapier said) to s-off my phone
2. Downloaded the hboot in the post (menstioned in the next step) and changed the cid number in the file "android-info.txt" to my phones cid which is "ORANGE202"
2. followed the steps in this post.

There are pros and cons to each...
Mainly the difference is the partition layout. 2.16 use a single partition for both system and data so you'll get more storage and space for apps. Downside is that it is an unofficial hboot (comes from a leaked, never released HTC ROM) and all ROMs support the official 2.15 hboot. Some have builds for 2.16 as well but those are unofficial and you cannot post bugs or expect them to be solved if they're not bugs encountered on 2.15 also. So 2.15 has better support from this point of view.
You should check in dev section which ROMs are specifically built for 2.16 and flash only those if you decide to flash that hboot
There was also an issue in recovery that doesn't allow sdcard to be mounted on 2.16 but I'm not sure if latest recoveries fixed that. Beware that also for recovery you must flash one built for 2.16
That's mainly all about this

Are you flashing the appropriate firmware for the ROM? For ICS ROM's you will need to update your firmware and HBOOT to V3.32 with HBOOT 1.27.000.

[Q] How to reset phone to stock COMPLETLEY?

Hello, I've had an HTC Sensation for about 1 year now, and I would like to sell it (on ebay) with everything stock.
Currently the phone is running an early build of CyanogenMod 10 pyramid (Android version 4.1.2.)
I have also made the phone S-Off with the JuopunutBear method.
Info about bootloader:
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT - 1.27.1111
RADIO - 11.23.3504.07_M2
OpenADSP - v02.6.0.2226.00.0131
eMMC - boot
One more note, I have also installed a custom recovery, ClockworkMod Recovery v5.8.0.9 and it is a touch recovery.
Again, I would like to S-Off the phone, install the original recovery (if possible) and the latest stock ROM.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

But it when wanted to run the ruu it says that i have to search a compatible ruu for my phone. but because i have already used the ruu i simply changed the radio to 1.11.50.05.28 but it don't work is it because i have a other hboot?

As you're s-off I think you should reflash stock recovery before you will be able to flash any other RUU successfully...
Also it's not necessary to lock/unlock bootloader once you are s-off.

[Q] Wifi : I don't understand, i'm exhausted.

Hi,on my HTC One S s4, everytime I change rom the wifi is unable to do authentication afterward...
English isn't my first language so I may have missed something.
Only the stock rom is ok.
I think I may have to flash a new radio.zip,
but i can't figure where the download links are and what i should be looking for **exactly**.
I tried to flash different boot.img, theresults where the same or unbootable.
I mannaged to go this far by myself but now i'm exhausted, HTC is way more complicated than my previous devices.
i'm
S-off + hboot 2.15 + unlocked via HTC-dev Root
and twrp touch recovery
and super cid 11111111.
My cell is Fido/Rogers
my bootloader is like that now.:
****unlocked****
vle pvt ship s-off rl
cid-11111111
hboot-2.15.0000
radio-1.11.50.05.28
open dsp v31.1.0.45.0815
emmc boot
I want to use roms :darkjelly and nightly cm10.1 and xperia/htc.
So how do I fix my wifi problem on my future roms ?

I would also say it's the radio. Try this it's aroma. You can choose what you want. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1998270
Use the sense based installer which includes the wififix. This flashes it to the dedicated partition on phone.
Then flash ROM. Boot. Then flash temp radio installer (same radio as sense based one).

[Q] I need steps to change the firmware for JB and setting to S-OFF

Hi,
My phone (AT&T HTC One XL) is running on a Viper XL 4.2 Rom. Of late I see signal drops (No Service) and random reboots. Could some one please help me with to overcome these issues. I am using this phone in India and the service provider is Airtel.
**I read in a forum that changing the firmware and security setting to S-off would help. If yes could you please guide me on this.
Current phone settings are as below,

***UNLOCKED***

Thanks for your help and support.
First you need to find out if you have SuperCID or not. The fastboot command to show your current CID is:
Code:
fastboot oem readcid
If it shows up as 11111111 you have SuperCID, if not you need to get SuperCID first.
Once you have SuperCID you can get s-off, you'll find that thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2155071
Once you have s-off you can update your firmware, you'll find the download and instructions in the first post of this thread:

Looks like you've flashed the 2.15 firmware so the Beastmode kernel isn't necessary.
