Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 (SGH-I777) that will not enter Recovery mode, no matter how much I try. I tried holding the [Power+Vol up+Vol dn] combo and it doesn't work at all. I can enter recovery mode by holding all three buttons and connecting a USB cord when the buttons flash.
Here's the full story: The phone didn't use to start up at all. I tried using batteries from my friends S2 (I9100) and switched on the device while I charged the original battery separately. One of my friends who was familiar with flashing, put the original software back on it but later put CyanideL on it. The ROM worked perfectly and everything worked, except that the phone wouldn't charge when switched off. I forgot to charge it for two days and it wouldn't later turn on. I tried switching to a charged battery and the OS wouldn't boot. My friend said he could return to stock and he flashed the original software again, but we couldn't access the recovery.
I tried flashing I777 UCKH7 Return/Unbrick to Stock (or Root) Odin3 One-Click Downloaders from ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20229527 ). The phone would boot then to a SAMSUNG logo that would turn off after sometime, which was expectedly what happened when my friend flashed the stock ROM. Searching through the forums there were cases where it was reported that such problems could occur with faulty boot loaders. So I flashed I777UCMD8 Stock Binaries from the same thread. Same results ensued. I tried flashing different packages from the thread after reading their description, using ODIN V3 1.85. I only used the PDA option. Nothing seems to bring back recovery mode. All the buttons do work, I think. If however, I flash CWM recovery, the screen changes back to the SAMSUNG GALAXY S2 boot screen and stays there for a few minutes and restarts again.
What do I do to get my phone back up? I couldn't find people who couldn't get in to Recovery mode? Most were using the wrong combos for Recovery or could access the OS itself. I can't access the OS and my button combos doesn't work at all.

Hi,friends
I just bought a used Rogers Infuse 4G I977 from ebay.
It was a rooted phone with Stock 2.3.3 UXKG3 installed
and there's problem with it:
1) It cannot boot into CMW/e3 recovery mode, when i press 3buttons(power +/-) or hold +/- and plug in USB cable, the screen will turn on with 4 lights on(home/search etc.) but nothing else shows on the screen,if i press the power button again it will reboot but reboot into another black screen with some sound, sounded like turning the phone in normal way but nothing shows.
2.When I turn on the phone normally, there is NO Samsung/Rogers Logo,it only has the booting sound and 1-2mins after I will have to press the power button myself to open up the lockscreen and use the phone
What I did:
Re-flash the root UXKG3 via Odin
UNROOT my phone
Install CWM via Rom Manager
Install e3 and use the file explorer to put update into CMW
Lots more,i tired EVERYTHING in the forum
Goal :
Now i don't care i can install a ROM/Root or not.
I Just Want To Have My Samsung/Rogers Logo backed on when i Turn on my phone, just wanted to look like a normal phone.
Please help me!This will be a gift for my friend and I wanted to look really nice and stock give it to him,I've been reading on Infuse 4G forum for 13Hours striaght and i have tried everything i could.
I own Galaxy S 2 with lots of root/custom experience so i'm not a noob and i know what i am doing but i really can't fix this.
I can provide video of the loading screen and everything etc.
Odin or heimdall back to stock,
Run the program
Place pone in download mode
Do what it says on the program/on the op of the program
Download mode: pull battery, put battery back in, hold volume up and down, then plug in USB cord.
You have to pull the battery or it won't work...at least its never worked for me without pulling the battery...
Edit: just saw you have already tried Odin...maybe try a different Odin?
Actually when I first flashed cm9 I had no Samsung logo on boot, I'd get a rainbow screen then it would go into the cm9 boot animation...I flashed gingerbread boot loaders through heimdall and then reflashed cm9 and the rainbow screen was replaced with a galaxy s logo with cm9 logo under that
So maybe you don't have the right bootloaders...Odin does not replace bootloaders-at least as far as I know it doesn't. So try heimdall...however be aware that flashing boot loaders is the easiest way to actually brick this phone...so do it at your own risk...I'm not saying flashing new boot loaders will fix your problem...I'm just saying it worked for me on a different but similar situation.

Alright i will try helium tonight, thanks.
Please guys, my galaxy S2 SHW-M20K (Korean) is in trouble.
I bought it from a 2nd hand shop , and it was runing Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean (rooted stock rom). I had no problem with it till today when I tried to install "CWM Recovery", After searching the web i found a post with two files that supposedly could do the task. These files are:
1. CWM_KT_M250K.tar
2. Tegrak-Kernel-Build-39-for-SHW-M250K-UE18.tar
Using Odin, I triedd the first file but it couldn't work, and the phone could not boot so i downloaded the "rooted factory firmware" and flashed the phone. Everything was ok. Later I tried the second file. Again the phone could not boot and stuck at the logo with a yellow triangle. After waiting for about 5 minutes I tried to shut it down by pressing the power button it did'nt respond. (Now this is a point that I regret), I removed the battery as a way of forcing to turn it off.
Now my phone cannot boot. It doesn't respond to power button, neither does it allow me to enter recovery mode nor download mode. But When i connect to the charger or pc, it start charging and keeps cutting off the charging frequently. But it only allows me to enter download mode when connected to pc. When I tried to flash the "rooted factory firmware", again, the flashing goes smoothly but when the phone starts rebooting it fails as if there is a power cut. Is my battery damaged? Can someone give me a guide on how to fix it?
I need your help gus, I am not an expert in the rootings and roms,

As u mentioned, I think that your phone has gone to a Soft Brick. I don't know much about the Korean build, so Google it to solve the Soft Brick. Try flashing the stock rom via odin but I don't recommend it since it may cause your phone to be hard bricked if not done properly.
So go to the service centre, you'll get more help there

I thank you sir for responding to this. From what you have said, I think the best decision is to take it to Samsung service center. (For I have tried to google it but I couldn't get a solution). I would also like to know if it is repairable, and about the cost, is it worth repairing or should I think of buying a new phone?
I am stranded.

Download stock firmware (like xxxx.tar.md5 full Odin package) of ur device ,enter into Download mode of ur device & flash stock firmware with Odin.
Try this...
Hi all..or anyone out there
I have had the seemingly strange bootloop problem on my stock note N8010...which stuck on the dreaded "samsung galaxy note 10.1" and only has odin feature working. (and no factory reset options because I think the poor old tab is crammed to bursting with apps, files and cache and so had a meltdown) poor thing.
so anyway I check these sites of techie wonder and wisdom and followed every logical option..starting with the simple ones
first ran power down and tried to boot up (x3) with no joy, then take apart the tablet to disconnect / reconnect the battery and boot up (x3) still no change.
So went and got the firmware from samwares (both jelly bean and kitkat) to then flash through odin....tried and failed first because of dodgy cable, but the then got a new one...and joy of joys (at first) odin recognised my tab and the firmware flashed across with pass..but then auto rebooted straight back into the dreaded samsung 10.1 again....so tried different versions of odins... and tried other global n8010 firmware...but funnily and frustratingly then all fully download and pass in odin (and the andoid logo and green download status bar on the tablet seems to shown that downloading is and has fully taken place.... but the darn thing still wont boot up past the samsung galaxy note 10.1
Sadly coming to the ends of my tether (of so many nearly there false hopes, high and lows) and very little cash to send it to the Sami tech bods doesnt help matter....I then read and tried the (supposed) last resort pit file/firmware option...first with kitkat (as apparently that worked for someone somewhere) and then tried with jelly bean..again each time itAlways passes in odin.... but auto reboots into the dreaded bootloop logo .... to haunt and torment me.. Aaaaagh!!!!.....I would not mind if it said action failed (for once) like some others seem to experiencet...but it always passes in ODIN????
So.....have come to the semi ignorant conclusion it is either the bootloader section of the tablet or the original software that is messed up or some internal hardware component has a fault.
but was wondering if there is anthing left to try...or would it potentially be possible or worth trying to root a tablet in this condition?
As although I have not ventured into the wild worlds of rooting.....I am now pretty confident of messing with this tablets mind..and have little to lose...so any further ideas and help would be great.
Exact same here. Never flashed, totally stock N8010. My wife hadn't used it for a couple of weeks. So she grabs it again and it was off. booted to nothing but the boot logo. Nothing worked except Download mode.
Flashing stock roms has Odin reporting success, but it still won't boot up. Trying re-Partition does give a fail as soon as I press start.
And we aren't alone. It appears there are quite a few of these cases. I have no idea how to solve this.
I have done a bit of rom flashing on my old galaxy S (the first one) and bootloaders and such usually were included in a ROM. Rooting was done with Recovery or an app and I think it was also possible with adb, IIRC (it's been a while).
It's my wife's Note and she's starting to scope out mini iPads...
Same problem with GT-N8010
I am also having the same problem.
I tried to upload a new ROM via ODIN. All was successful from the ODIN app (PASSED). but stuck on the boot screen. Power and Vol up does not work (it appears to but then crashes out to the boot screen again) so no way to do a hard factory reset.
Volume down/power does work and allows you to get to Odin mode. but as above, uploading a new ROM does not seem to work.
This is an un-rooted GT-N8010 with the stock ROM when I purchased it back in 2013 I believe.
Come on guys, give us some ideas.
Thanks
Gene
Sounds like wrong model firmware flashed as that's the usual bootloop problem .
Try Odin firmware flash wait to passed then remove battery for a short while and replace and try recovery mode .
In my case there is no incompatible firmware issue... The tablet just stopped working one morning and that was that.
Can't comment on the other posters though.

My wife's the same. Never done anything to it. No idea how to remove the battery. I let the battery run down once, then recharged it, made no difference.
That was before trying to flash the new firmware. My Note says N8010 on the back, it says so in the download mode. I got a firmware from SamMobile for the N8010. Don't know what else I can do.

Having same problem here ... tried flashing different firmwares along with PIT file - still no luck ..
stuck on samsung galaxy note screen .. cannot get recovery mode
Any help guys?
About a year ago I successfully rooted my SGH-T769 with a version of CWM using ODIN, and today I am trying to unroot it by installing original ROMS... I factory reset the phone and cleared dalvik and what-not, but now when I try to boot up the phone, I am stuck at the Galaxy S Blaze splash screen. I figured "oh well I only need to get into DOWNLOAD MODE"
So I turn the phone off and attempt to get into download mode using MANY different methods.
(all 3 buttons, release power; all 3 buttons, plug in, release power; two buttons, insert battery, release volume; ECT.)
I'VE TRIED IT ALL.
Is there maybe an app I can get on my computer that will boot the phone into DOWNLOAD MODE when I plug it in?
Or is there a fix for this?
(NOTE: I CAN STILL ACCESS CWM RECOVERY MODE BUT THAT DOESN'T SEEM TOO USEFUL)
(ALSO NOTE: If you know how I can use CWM RECOVERY MODE to correct this issue... Tell me and I'll love you long time. :3 )
:good:
Hello,

The experts there may be able to help. Good luck.
My Galaxy S7 (SM-G930R4) has decided to not want to boot. I can't boot normally or into recovery. I can only boot into Odin mode.
I've tried to flash stock rom, but it doesn't seem to work. I've heard that I should use the ROM from samsmobile, so I'll try that next.
This all started to happen after I accidentally turned on the phone right before I took the battery out. I put that battery back in and it booted fine, but after a few minutes it rebooted and started to reboot over and over again. It won't even show the charging screen when it is turned off and plugged in.
OK, I tried to flash the stock rom with Odin, but it still is in a boot loop. I've flashed it 3 times. I've firmware files from different sites. It seems that this S7 is dead. Please help!
Try to flash another rom and keep in mind that it sometimes takes up to 10-15 minutes at the first boot.
You could also just flash TWRP...

TWRP for the Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930R4)???
Also, now I've been greeted with the screen that says "An error has occurred while updating the device software." It says to use the Samsung Smart Switch PC software to fix it. Hopefully that works.
Where are you?
What firmware are you using? Branded or unbranded?
Have you looked on Sammobile for the correct firmware?
Are you able to boot into system recovery? Home+VOLUME UP+Power (Not Download)?
Oh you have got the G930R4. I thought G930F.
Then I don't know if there is a TWRP you could flash.
But if there is one you could just flash it and enter recovery mode and install a new ROM from within the TWRP environment.
Check this out.

Sounds like your device is currently bricked anyways, so just give it a try.
Maybe you can get a working TWRP recovery mode again.

I am in the US.
I'm on Android 8.0 (Oreo)
I have a US Cellular Branded phone.
As soon as the phone is turned on, it tries to boot into recovery, but it can't so it keeps on trying over and over again. I've tried the firmware from SamMobile, but nothing seems to work.
When I flash to Stock ROM, and I turn the phone on, it stays in a bootloop of the "Recovery Booting..." screen.
When I flash the rooted Engineering rom, and I turn the phone on, it stays in a bootloop of the Samsung S7 logo. I can't boot into safe mode.
I tried to use Samsung Kies... didn't work... I tried to use Samsung Smart Switch... didn't work... I've tried 3 or 4 different ROMs from different websites.... didn't work.
i have the same problem. was able to enter download mode several times, but at some point it died completely (not charging anymore). how do you manage to take the battery out? does the SM-G930R4 the possibility to easily remove it?

The glass panel on the back is glued onto the phone. If you remove the glass, there are screws and from there, it's easy. I broke the glass in the process... so yay me.
Mine won't charge either. It is completely dead, but it will still turn on when I plug it into my computer.
Really strange. Mine is not turning on, even tried several locations, charger, etc. Once I had download mode while having a black screen. Keep an eye on odin and instantly flash firmware if it got recognized. I press all three buttons while plugging in; that's how it worked the first time for me....
