hello,
I posted about am month ago but the thread is now closed (search for a8-5500-hv) saying I had purchased a lenovo a8-5500-h and wanted to know if there was a way of modding the rom make 3g phone calls as it has 3g data & wifi.
The basic end result was that although no no one had the bits I needed that the H variant was the same hardware with a different rom. This information was from the russian lenovo forum.
Although at the time the rom was not available on the russian site. Two days ago the rom was posted! Along with the other drivers etc needed and some instructions in russian which translate poorly (and in places not at all!) some faffing later I have done it & can confirm it works.
THe original author has given me permission to re-write the instructions in English and to post on this forum if anyone else might want it.
I have it all & would like to know where on this fourm you would like me to upload the various rar files and directions?
thanks guys.
As we do not have Specific forum for your device, please post a thread in
Android Development and Hacking > Android Software Development
In the thread you can post a link to where the Rom can be downloaded. Make sure to include a tag [ROM] in your subject and the Device Model Lenovo A5500-HV

Hi I'm using android Jellybeans 4.2.2 on my tablet (unknown type) I tried to change the wifi into adhoc But it didn't work and the wifi button turned to gray (I can't turn it on) can you please Help By telling me how to fix My rom specially WPA_Supplicant As I didn't make a backup . BTW I made a factory reset and I cleaned all caches But It Didn't work
Hi,
Without knowing your make and model of your tablet, it will be near impossible for anyone to suggest any help.
You should try to determine what it is exactly, because using any files not made for your specific device can destroy it.
Then ask for help here,
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!
My tablet is colorfly CT974 Ivory 2 And I posted in the hack forum please Help I can't Use My wifi anymore . Thx For your answer
You will need to be patient. Also, less popular devices have fewer people using them, so help can be hard to find unfortunately.
I would contact the manufacturer and ask about returning to stock files.
Otherwise you need to wait for help in your other thread.
We're here to help members navigate the site, not support.
Thank you for understanding!
Ok Thx
Hey , Luckily I found My original wpa_supplicant in the sdcard (I didn't notice it ) But still can't Fix Wifi Can you Help?
As said above.... Xda Assist help navigate the site, not support. Please ask for help in the section I linked you to.

You must be patient, especially with less popular devices, as fewer members own them. You can try Google search to look for answers as well.
Thank you. Thread closed.
hi . i need help i couldn't find any answers on this .
How can I hook up my android tablet to a land line phone for dial up internet
i have chinese tablet . model : City Call
My android version is : 4.0.1
My first thoughts are to get a usb external modem
and connect it to the landline socket
then connect the modem to my tablet
then enter the user name and the password from the dial up card
" 10 hours card " for example
i don't want to waste my money buying external modem then
discover that this method doesn't work . i just want to be sure 100%
My biggest fear is my tablet won't be able to recognize the external modem
or the dial up connection uses a different method to connect the internet
differently than android and 2g/3g/wifi connections
can i do that ? do i need any " FREE " apps for that ?
is it possible at all ?
sorry if this is the wrong section to post my question . i am new to this site
so feel free to move my post to where its belong . ^__^

Hi,
I wanted to post this question within the following thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2040163 but as i'm a newbie to this site it will not let me post in that part of the forum. If possible can a admin move this to give me the best possible chance of this question being answered?
I have been looking at the tread regarding installing GFE on a rooted device http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2040163. Can someone that has sucsessfully installed this on a rooted device please let me know if you are able to copy and then read any of the emails or attachments contained within good technologies application.
Regards
M
So I've rooted this device several times and only once.... have I gotten the wifi to stay on.
But I decided to turn off the device and after that next reboot, the wifi was no longer allowing me to connect.
Attempting to turn on the wifi will freeze the device. I have no idea why it's doing this nor how I got the wifi to stay on previously.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
I have successfully rooted many devices and this is the only device that has given me this much stress.
I do not want to go back to stock again, KNOX over heats the tablet and Samsung devices are known to have
heavy bloatware. I just want this device running on wifi and block the mobile data option but that requires root.

that has not given a specific answer to this problem nor close this discussion, This issue needs a solution. I can not stress the importance on this request. Any time I ask a question generally I get re-directed to another post with in the vicinity of nowhere near the request and only to go back to square one. I just really need this issue resolved as soon as possible.
I have already search on this form

as well as this one.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/development/rom-sm-t237p-rooted-odexed-2015-04-11-t3079083
and still no solution was found.
Again please DO NOT re-direct me nor close this post.
-Thank you for your time.

Hi there,
First of all I think you need to read our sticky threads about the purpose of this XDA Assist Forum. Take a look bellow with highlighted words:
The mission of XDA Assist is to provide basic help to those who have tried searching but can't find what they are looking for and need assistance. This is not a "helpdesk" providing technical assistance but more to point you in the correct direction with your problem. Perhaps you can't find posts on how to root your phone, install custom recovery or maybe you have questions about how to navigate and use features on the site.
Our XDA Assist team will give you links to threads/forums that are relevant to your problem. You may be pointed towards guides and instructions that can be quite complex, so you will still need to read carefully and be cautious before attempting to make software changes to your device. It is essential you are in the correct forum for your device model; what works for one can ruin another.
