Hello!
Recently I found on the street a nexus S, I charged it with my xperia z2 charger ( I guess are the same, have the same port and slot) but battery didn't charge, if I remove the battery and plug the charger, doesn't work neither ...
so maybe it's bricked or something?
Thank you so much! Regards
Probably, but any micro USB should charge the device. I can't tell for sure if it is bricked with the detail you provided

Thanks for answer! So maybe phone motherboard is dead? Or maybe the adapter for charge inside phone is dead?
How I can know what is broken?
Thanks
I am not too certain, your best bet would be to take it to a local phone repair place or send it back to the manufacturer for repair

Hi guys,
I stupidly plugged my Nexus One USB cable into a higher voltage charger in my car, about 8v-10v I think, and I could immediately smell burning. I unplugged it straight away and the phone died. The result was;
1. I could no longer charge it off the wall charger or computer USB charger, just got zero response, no led's etc.. seemed as though the phone was totally gone.
2. Then I took the battery out and charged it in my external battery charger. When I put the battery back in the phone it turned on and worked perfectly!!! although the battery didn't seem to last as long.
3. When it was powered on an working, it wouldn't pick up the USB connection to my PC. Did nothing.
So.... it seems as though the USB port is obviously not working. Would this be the extent of the damage or would it be something more serious in the phone?
Would the official Google dock allow me to charge the phone and connect it to my computer given that it uses the 3 pin method and not the USB?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Morgan
Ahhhh the smell of a resistor going. And within a circuit when one major component goes it will drag some others with it. Which could explain short battery life. Back up your stuff. And look into your options to replace device. Unless you have extencesive knowlege on micro surface mounted printed circuit board components and measureing values.
good day.
I don't have any knowledge of circuit boards so is there any other options to repairing this device? It is basically brand new!
Is there any chance that a dock would allow me to charge it?
If not, can I replace the main board? I disassembled it yesterday and know how to change it out.

Just guessing, but no. The cooked components for the charging circuit would also be in parallel to the dock port.

You can buy an anker battery who comes with external charger, this solve your problem, the alternative is to buy a mainboard for your sensi, but I think this is much more expensive solution...
Get lucky!!

Try another charger. Quite a few people seem to be complaining about the OEM Sammy chargers going kaput. Also could be a cable problem (broken wires) - I had a similar problem with my wife's tablet, fixed by replacing a cable.

Before buying a new charger, I would suggest confirming the exact problem first. You may be able to borrow a charger from someone (any USB charger with approx 2 Amp output will work, for example, from an iPad), or a cable. See what fixes the issue, and get a replacement. Also, if you have some average soldering skills, the cable can fairly easily be fixed at home (in case it is a faulty cable) - the wires usually break at the connector, and the OEM Sammy 30-pin connector is snap-assembled, not glued, so you can take it apart and put it back togethet. Good luck!

Hello Friendsss ... Past one week I have Been facing a issue of " SLOW CHARGING " of my Osprey xt1550
Initially i thought that there might be some issue with the Rom so I flashed the Squid Kernel but the Problem was not solved
Then i changed the Complete Rom and flashed 2 roms during this week but the problem persists
Then I thought may be There is a issue with the charger but i tried 5 charger of same configuration but still Charging very Slowly issue is there .
And May be my fone was accidently dropped in water bucket so this might be the issue :silly::silly:
plz help me guysss:fingers-crossed:
Thnx in Advance
Slow charging is never (well, rarely) a software issue... it is almost always hardware.
1. Charger... get a quality replacement of at least 1A
2. Cable... get a new (or known good) quality cable
3. USB port... The Moto G 2015 series has been known to have USB port issues, luckily it is easy to replace without soldering on this device. YouTube can be your friend here
4. Battery... If the battery is at or near it's life span, it will charge slowly and should be replaced.
I would tackle them in that order.

Hi all, i have a problem with my s6. I repaired my s6 usb port and changed it with a new one. But still my phone charges at 250mah instead of 2000 and my pc wont recognise it, any suggestions?
A kind of "script-type" solution, but have you tried different USB cable? I suggest you buy a proper one, like 28/24 gauge USB cable.
These are a bit more expensive, but charge very well. Much better quality and charge faster.
Already changed ton of cables and usb ports, still the same problem

I think your charging ic on logic board needs replacing. Only micro solderer people can replace that. Might not be worth for you.
i ve lent it on a samsung repairer guy. they changed battery, connector and installed a new os. now they said they should give me it tonight or tomorrow.. let s see if it works

The way I read that you're expecting to get rapid charge from pc ports. Need a rapid charger for rapid charging.

Same issue here. Think its related to a charging chip
Hi,
I've got the exactly same problem here. Repacinfg battery and the USB port of the phone did not solve the problem. Did your repairing work out? Any more ideas?

Hello all :
I have exactly the same problem that you all I have 250 to 300ma really charge, that it is any charger of 0.5 amps 3.1 amps either with a quick charger from Samsung or quick charge 2.0 or other, any cable too, and any rom, tested Global, Lineage and stock.
Oooo, and i tested with a custom charger, 9v 2amps, nothing change !!! 0.250amps and 5hours to 50% -> 100%....
Is really strange problem.
Any Idea ? is possible to limitation software ???

Yes is possible, but here i dont know.. beacause, it would have quite different effects depending on the chargers and on the voltage. here we have, in my case, the same problem regardless of the charger amps or voltage.
this is more like a software crash of the chips in the worst case.
Other hand I noticed that I had lost all utilities USB my phone example when I plug it on my computer it is absolutely not recognized... Any Idea for that ???
Thanks

Need help.
In software, how or where is manageme the charge ? In the kernel ?
Is strange, the charge is blocking at 250ma...
