Hello everyone. I recently picked up a Rogers/Fido Samsung Galaxy S6 variant and was wondering if I was to get it unlocked, that it would work on Wind Mobile. I cant seem to find the answer anywhere. I know with other Samsung devices they made different models with different bands.

Yes, it should work on Wind. FYI, you can get an unlock code from eBay for a Rogers S6 for around $14. So you might as well unlock it if you already have the phone.
All Canadian models are identical. Just unlock and use with any Canadian carrier!

I've bought quite a few unlocks from eBay sellers before. If the seller has a good feedback rating, you're likely good to go. This seller does, so it's not likely a scam. (99.8%, 5878 ratings).

I have always wondered, where do the sellers get the list of code from? Did they get them from Samsung or Rogers?

Wow, I had read sometime back there was some work going on regarding this....so no headway yet huh, must be some lock these guys put up.
I am going to take your advice and stay away from this phone then as I need it to work with ATT here and other gsm networks abroad.

I think I am going to buy this phone. But I couldn't find anywhere. Can someone tell me if I can use the Nexus 5 from the Google's site on any phone company in the world?
PS.: I have already searched about the bands and it works on my country.

It doesn't matter where you buy it from. They're all unlocked.
Just a quick question I hope I can get a quick reply on.to help a friend. From what I can tell this phone should work on ATT with a carrier unlock. Just want to be 100% sure before I tell him to go ahead and buy one. But from what I can tell it should be fine (Although may or may not have 4G on ATT, but thats not hugely important).

It says it's unlocked for GSM carriers so you should be able to use your AT&T SIM without hassle, if not use ebay protect to get a refund

Thats what I thought. Just wanted to be sure. Ive never had to deal with bringing a phone from one carrier to another before. I know it needs to be carrier unlocked. Just wasn't 100% sure if GSM was ATT compatible. Also thanks for the advice on the ebay protect. Will let my friend know about that.

Hello,
I just came back from US, I`m from Brazil.
Bought a SG6 edge from craigslist. Posted a "Wanted" topic and arranged a metting with a man who said the phone was unlocked and would work with any carrier GSM.
Well, only discovered that this was a Sprint model (SM-G925P) and that it was locked by sprint when got in Brazil (**I know that was kinda dumb).
My question is: This model could work with GSM carriers? in Brazil we only have GSM carriers..
If first answer is Yes, It is unlockable with unlock code?
Or should I just re-sell it on Ebay and pay the international shipping?
Edit: Ohhhh great, also just found out that this phone has a Bad IMEI/ESN. This is bad for me, even overseas?
Thanks!
The bad ESN should only keep you from activating it on Sprint. Sorry that you got scammed...that sucks.
Thank you. ]
does this work with GSM also?
How could I unlock it?

The only way to get it unlock is thru Sprint. Sorry you got scammed, but you should have asked for the ESN before you bought it.

I know this is an old thread but looking for any advice. In a similar situation/scam. The ESN is not blacklisted, just still attached to a account. Thought I did my homework and called Sprint before purchasing and verified that ESN could be used. They didn't tell me it was still attached. Do I have any options as far as using this phone or should i just try to sell it to be used on another carrier or overseas? Any help is greatly appreciated?

Hi, I left Canada for good without paying off my phone bill and am hoping to unlock my S7 Edge.
I can't really call Telus to ask them to do this for obvious reasons.
Tenk.

Well, they could blacklist your emei number and when that happens, your phone will stop working I believe, maybe I'm wrong

Maybe you got away with it, is up to them, enjoy the phone while is working, they could block it at any time, or maybe they do not really care, good luck

It's not blacklisted, so far so good.
Carriers don't tend to share a block list, if it gets IMEI blocked by a Canadian telco it'll probably only affect Canadian networks. That's why a lot of phones get sold for cheap on eBay, the person broke the contract, it got blocked in their country but they sell it to another country.
