[Q] integration of microg/android_packages_apps_GmsCore ? - Omni Features Development

Hi,
do you know if microg/android_packages_apps_GmsCore was finally integrated into omni?
this ticket says it was accepted but I have no access to omni's jira to verify by myself: https://github.com/microg/android_packages_apps_GmsCore/issues/2
this projects is a free/opensource reimplementation of google play services (gcm, location, store, ...)
Thanks
J.

Guide: how to get more free RAM

Hi everyone!
In this thread you find a small guide for get more free RAM on your device (about 40-50mb: screenshot).
First of all you need root permissions.
Second install DisableService. Now open it and select Google Play Services, so uncheck:
AdRequestBrokerService
AnalyticsIntentService
AnalyticsService
BrokeredFitnessService
CastService
CoreAnalyticsIntentService
DeviceConnectionServiceBroker
DispatchingService
GcmService
GeocodeService
GeofenceProviderService
GoogleLocationManagerService
GoogleLocationService
LocationWearableListenerService
NlpLocationRecieverService
WatchdogService
WearableControlService
WearableService
You'll get a lot of free RAM but I don't know what work and what doesn't work now.

Nice suggestion but I've blocked installation of google play services and installed old google apps which does the same trick!
GUIDE UPDATED.
I have also disabled SystemUpdateService but I don't know what doesn't work now.

I suppose that was the process checking for new firmware updates
you might add this to the OP.
It doesn't matter much now.
we aren't going to get any official updates now
Another thing , the NlpLocation service is the notorious google play process.
It wakes up the device at regular intervals.
Disabling it might actually save a bit of battery
.
Disabling the NlpLocation service won't cause any problems unless you use apps which depend on your location like Google Maps weather reporting apps etc.
Press thanks if I helped .
what about eventlogservice and ConfigFetchService in google play services?
A better solution: DELETE Google play services

Guide to enable Google services on China variant AL00

Hi everyone,
I've been seeing many people having issues with installing Google framework on the AL00 variant.
The fact is that Google framework is already baked in and it is just a simple update to enable it.
1. Open app gallery and change country to China
2. Search for Google play store and click update
3. After update, click on open
4. The usual setup will appear
5. Done.
After the above steps, the majority of Google services and sync, etc should all be working.
* Update - OK Google does not work out of the box.
Have a good time with your new baby ?
Cheers!

I should say Google framework instead of services. I need to test out Google assistant as I don't use it but "OK Google" might not work at all due to Hivoice.
I'll update this thread to reflect more facts.
I just used the browser to look up "Google play store" and it gave me an option to download/update it, I've never opened the app gallery and everything works fine ??
I do the same? thanks

Hi Vincent,
Thanks for the suggestion above. I have legit fried my tiny brain on all aspects of getting google play to activate/update install what have you.
My location in the App Store ALREADY says China - and I am still unable to open or update the Google Play Store.
Any other suggestions? I am also unable to create a Huawei ID for the phone, it keeps saying "Restricted" and won't let me. Any work-arounds for this?

Google Camera privacy policy?

I was wondering please if someone with a Pixel could check if the Google Camera has a privacy policy in the app itself? Either via an online link from the app, or within the app itself?
The version installed on my old Nexus 6 doesn't seem to (there's a generic built in help, but I couldn't find anything by searching for privacy). But of course, that may be a rather old version of the camera app!
Thanks in advance!
No one
Under help there is a link to privacy policy, but it just a generic google services privacy policy.

Thanks! I'm a camera developer, and was just curious to see how Google themselves interpret the rule about requiring a privacy policy.
To clarify - that's a link to an online site that opens in the browser? (The Google Play policy says "within the app itself" which is vague as to whether an online link counts.)
And is it to http://www.google.com/policies/privacy ? (This is the link that's on the Google Camera store listing - yeah, I had noticed that it doesn't actually say anything about Google camera's use of camera permission or anything about the app specifically at all, unless it's buried in there somewhere...)

Yes, it is a link through browser to that page.

Unrooting after installing Google services

Hi everyone!
I installed the Google services on my p40pro, here come the question: many apps (like Google Pay) can't be run because the phone is identified like rooted/modded. Is there any chance to fix this? Lz Play is meant to enable a kind of rooting mode?
Thank you
Max

It's not root, It's actually the lack of safetynet.
Removing LzPlay Doesn't help.
Why did you need to install GMS?..
