did you try charging it over night?

Yes.. Didn't change anything

Did you charge using pc or wall charger? That can make a huge difference. Try charging overnight with wall charger. Mine usually comes back to life after a few minutes at wall charger. Pc just doesn't charge quick enough

2 things you can try.
- the reset button at the SD and sim slot. Its a white square far at the left (display facing upwards).
Press and hold it for 10 seconds or so. (Don't press too strong)
But that didn't ever do anything to me, as I once tried to reboot at recovery mode with it.
- wait, wait and wait until the battery is empty (as it's not easily to be taken out). Then connect the stock standard wall charger. Wait for 15min. You can check what happens, but don't touch the phone.
If the led remains red, you can try to power it on, but chances is that it still doesn't work.
If everything else happens, you might be lucky (the led might not be red again).
Good lluck
I'm always curious if a thing worked, leave a message if success or not.

Hey,
after days on the charger i get following:
Phone charges for about 10 seconds.. screen goes on and so and then it stopps, fashes the red led and starts again. i believe the screen takes to much energy at this stage of charging.
i also know what happened.. at this night my phone showed me a looooong time 50% battery.. and it went off.. so the battery drained to much and i dunno how to get it back to work right without giving it back
i can enter fastboot but adb cant conect.. so i dont know how to make a backup other than this..

Sounds like your charger or your cable are faulty (at least, hopefully it's that)
With the wallcharger it should charge quick enough to not go off again.
Definitely try a different charger and cable, if that fails i recommend you claim warranty because then it's probably a hardware failure.

Chargers were all okay, tested them with my i9305, but with my Z3 they didnt work.. just a loop (Charging Loop i will call it yaaay)
I went to o2 today, they took it without charger or else and will repair it.. they gave me a S3 mini for this time (my s3 lte doesnt take any sim cards anymore x.x)
so, hardware failure i believe.. but it was the new 5.02 lollipop.. so be careful if the battery stucks at certain point!

Motorola XT 720 Start up problems

Why won't my XT720 start up?
When it is connected to my charger, the four action keys light up. Despite leaving it to charge overnight, it appears that the battery isn't charging. The phone won't start while it is charging, neither when connected to the mains or to my car power supply.
I bought a new battery without any improvement.
When I access the bootloader screen it says there is too little power in the battery to program the phone.
The phone is not recognised by my computer when connected.
The phone is running Froyo 2.2. with Dexter rom.
I would be very grateful for any suggestions......apart from binning the phone!
Thanks!
I think the phone likes to selfboot with too little charge. See if you can shut it down cleanly so it won't autoboot. It's annoying but you may have to watch it very carefully to catch it when it's trying to boot because it will drain itself back to death very quickly.

Hi Oakham, do you have any update to your case? I have the same problem now.
Yesterday, I noticed the battery bar went down to orange region (about 30%?). I plugged it to the wall for about an hour (the charging symbol showed up). Later I found out that the battery bar did not move (still stuck at orange region). Later the night, I tried to charge again (the bar was red at about 15% or less). The charging symbol showed up. Later I checked, the battery bar did not improve but declined. The phone eventually went out of battery and turned itself off.
I tried to continue to charge using both the wall outlet and PC USB. No luck. I could not even power up the phone now. Did you manage to resolve your case? Anyone got the same problem and found the solution?
I thought about buying a new battery to try, but then I saw your post, so I hesitated.
Thanks.

I've had this problem. Watching the phone closely while charging and pulling the battery whenever it starts to boot works. After about the fourth time doing this I got a battery charger from amazon for ~$5 because it's gently loving annoying.

Thanks for your advice.
So when you first bumped into this problem, how did you get it back to boot up?
I followed your advice to watch it while it's charging. When I saw the motorola logo showed up, I pulled the battery. Then I plugged it back and let it charged for some more time. Then I tried to power up the phone. The motorola logo came on and then the big battery symbol came on saying it's 100% full (but i knew it's not). Later, those 4 soft touch button lid on. This cycle repeated. And I'm clueless.
Please let me know the steps you took to recover your phone.
Thanks.

Once you get into the system use 'power off' from the menu. It won't autoboot then and you can leave it in the wall overnight. I think. A voodoo doll may work, too. It can be really frustrating, but I've been able to get out of it every time so far. Like I said, I got sick of this game and found a battery charger for pretty cheap.

Try deleting batterystats.bin and doing what M said.. can you get to open recovery and charge from there?
I also had the 'M' logo screen, stuck on-screen when the charger was connected. There is a post which suggests, for this, 'Pull battery.2) Insert battery and hit power button;3) As soon as you hit the power button, hold the volume up button down until the unboxing logo comes up.'
As my phone is still under warranty, I sent it back to see if there is a physical problem. I'll try the above suggested solution when my phone comes back from 'Motorola', whether or not it is repaired by them! I've also bought a battery charger for the phone's BP6X battery from e-Bay (£9.50, including another battery.)At least I will then know that a battery is fully charged before I try fixes.
Thanks for the other posts/replies!

In my experience OR drains faster than it can charge.
Sent from my XT720 using XDA Premium App
Damn!
I had about the same. Battery got drained down from 80% to 5%. Then the screen for "please plug in for charging" appeared. Some moments later the phone went dark and now I can't get it to work again. It doesn't react on the power button. Even when plugged in the charging-symbol doesn't appear. I can't turn it on. Sucks!
Any ideas?
My phone has been repaired by Motorola, under warranty, and returned after four days. Accompanying report is brief: 'Software update and screening'. Seems to be working fine.......just like a brand new phone!
This morning i find myself in the same situation. My phone have the soft keys iluminated but it didint work.OMG... what happend durring the night. So i tried to boot the phone but nothing happend, and after reading tje post on the problem i have tried to remove the battery and put`it back, tryed anothe reboot, and holdind the buttons power+vol up. Nothing worked. But when i have tried the combination power + vol up + cammera shutter and plugged the cable. at first nothing happend. but after i have relesed the buttons the logo apeared and started charging. after that i powerd on my phone normaly
My phone does that everytime it charging and I remove the plug when it's in sleep mode. I have to remove the battery and it's power on normally.

my sensation dont turn ON

hello
i have drain my battery.
now it dont charge and dont turn on
i think is the CWM.
i used a 9v battery to charge my battery, but the phone dont turn on
when i connect to be charged the orange led, blinks for 11 times...
what i can do to turn on my phone ?
I had this problem. its not CWM. If u drained your battery till its fully dead. It has to be charged at a certain point for it to turn on. the blinking orange light means its charging. I left mines for 5 mins on the charger then unplugged it. Then hit the power button, then it turns on.

what recovery you have ?
i have cwm 4.1.0.5
Question... When you plugged it in in it's "completely dead" state, was the led off, flashing, solid? I drained my battery completely, when I plug it in, the led flashing 11 times last 3 flashes are slow then goes dark.
I tried doing what the ABOVE post said with connecting a bare usb wire for 20 mins to + and - red and black ...
but did not work either, maybe just going to tmobile and getting a battery switched out since it is still a new phone... may work? Its not even recognizing the phone in the computer to do the adb reboot function either... someone who fixed this issue please help us! dire need to use the phone ahhhh
theres like 4-5 people with this problem on the forums right now that havent figured out how to solve it

Help...Dead One S will not charge

Help Please. I have been running this Trickdroid for quite some time. And thanks to such great battery life I have never seen my phone under 10%....until yesterday when it ran all the way down and powered it self off. ....now it will not take a charge tried all my different chargers even tried a rapid charger (Nex7 charger) and the charging LED never comes on. Will not even try to light up the screen when you hold the power button. I'm concerned about sending it in via TMO that they will fix it and find i unlocked and rooted it and charge me full price for my replacement. Any thoughts? Has this happened to anyone else on this ROM? Is there a way to revive it? Thanks.
Hold power button soft keys should light up then release after 3sec but it on charge and leave it there even if light doesn't come on and after awhile the light should come on
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
Yes mate K1llacannon is right mate i can totally confirm that.
I read from one dude with a HOS he left it sit there a full night with the charger connected and after that he could use it again. Apparently, the light will come on eventually but it will take a while until the battery has enough juice to boot the phones charging electronics. Before that, it will take power but show no indicator.
Also, i suppose it is some sort of emergency circuit that charges in the beginning and it is only charging at some minimum rate or something like that so it takes a while...

Thanks guys for the reply....I have tried this and the keys never flash and I left it plugged in all night last night and then again all morning on a different charger and still nothing,....ugh.
It now does do this when plugged into the PC: The PC will do the "durp drup" like its connected then do the tone again as if its not connected again. This cycle just keeps going. I tried to do some adb but keeps saying no device.

Try fastboot devices, adb only works when phone on and USB debugging enabled and in recovery sometimes. If it shows your device then maybe try fastboot reboot recovery or something.
My first One S was completely dead on arrival, no sign of life after charging it for 24 hrs straight with original charger (tested charger OK) and holding PWR for 10, 30 seconds and longer. Got a new one no questions asked. Not that this is necessarily the same problem you're having since yours have been running but then again I'd guess they at least test all phones so they start at factory...

New phone doesn't turn on

Hi
I bought my relay from ebay http://goo.gl/GbQ1Nt just started using the phone today.. I put my SIM card of a carrier from Peru and it worked just fine. Everything was running smoothly.. I was making phonecalls and texting.. I put my gmail account and started downloadign some apps..
After a couple of hours, the battery was almost dead so I plugged it..
After five minutes, the screen turned off out of the blue.. and I haven't been able to turn it on since
It won't turn on, nor enter recovery or download mode
I'm not even sure it is charging.. when i plug it the red led turns on.. but there is no other charging indicator..
I'm in Peru so returning it is a bit o f a challenge.. I was just wondering if any of you guys know what could be wrong..
Thanks

The link you posted for the auction doesn't work. Wanted to check if you got it new or used. One thing I've noticed with mine is that I have to hold down the power button for a second or two to get it to turn on (seemed like it was a little bit longer than other phones I've had).
Outside of that it sounds like it might be some kind of hardware problem. Might even just be a bad battery. One thing you could try is using an external charger for the battery if you have a universal lithium ion charger or if you know someone who has one. That way you might be able to narrow it down to a problem with the charging circuit in the phone.

thanks for replying
I've edited the link
I tried an external power bank but it didn't even turn it on.. so I narrowed it like you said to: the battery is so messed up it won't even charge or the battery is fine but the whole charging circuit is wrong.
Then I took it to an electrician and he said the battery had energy and should start the phone, but it didn't.
After that he charged the battery alone for a little bit with his "whatever kind of car-battery-like thing" but it still was not turning the phone on.
When I came home I plugged it once more to the external powerbank and some how the charging animation appeared..
I let it charge for a while but it didn't seem to progress, so i turned it on and holly crap it turned on
but after the boot animation it vibrated and turned off and now it's not charging again
man.. i thought i had it
any thoughts?
i've read about something called sticky power button.. its a hardware problem in the galaxy sII model.. could it be related?
Not sure about the sticky power button I've never had it happen to me. I would think that when you had it on it would have popped up the reboot menu like when the power button is being held down. If it were me I would contact the seller.
i returned to the electrician and he recharged a little bit more the battery..
this time it did turned on and it reached the lockscreen it said 1%
so I plugged it.. and it now stays on.. and it says charging but stays at 0%.. doesn't advance.. is it a battery issue or a charging circuit issue?
forget about the sticky power button

[Q] can't boot / led blinking red

Hi all, have my xperia z3 for about two weeks, not rooted, not unlocked, without any modifications. Yesterday before sleep it was with more than a half of akku, today as im woke up and got it in my hands it was off, im plugged charging cable, was thinking maybe the battery was drained, but nothing happens still, its just blinking red (led).
Was trying to hold power + volume up, nothing.
Reset key near sim dont works for me either - i'm just notice 3x vibrations and thats it, its just repeat vibrate 3x times again and again but nothing happens, no boot.

Try to flash it with flashtool with an ftf file to the latest update and see what's happening, or just factory reset it with the pc also can be done with flashtool
Most likely the battery has drained beyond its limit Plug it in via wall and leave it on charge it could take 1-3 Hours for it to reach its limit until it will begin the charging Cycle, I recommend using the official charger that came with the phone

Not 3 blinks, vibrations i mean, the led is blinking red whole time if i plug it to charger or leptop, its just , no changes at all, its still blinking same way after being plugged whole night. After my Google researches im thinking the battery drained completely off so its in a sleep mode, but i wont try to boost it because of warranty i do have. I dunno if charging dock can play some trick in this case, my bro have one.
P.S. but yea, called o2 ready and they mailed me DAT Repair retour form, just had no luck this time, will be wisely next time, but as i said last i saw it alive it was like 25% charged, **** happens.

When you press Power + Volume Up, are you still holding it after the initial 3 vibrations? I mention it because on my old HTC One X, you had to keep the buttons down for 3 sets of 3 vibrations. if you released beforehand, the phone would not reset.

Hi, as i mentioned ready, i was only able once to get vibrations by using power + volume up, its somehow don't work with my phone, maybe cause battery have very low voltage/charge. Anyhow, im using power + reset key near sim, its works always still and i can repeat it endless, its seems, till the battery will just drain off completely.
But yes im tryed 3-4-5 more resets one by one but no progress :/
Even if i get it fixed i will send it to DAT/Sony anyways, its a noway solution for the price i paid .
just for a log: got replacement - Mainboard defect. Report says they replaced the Mainboard and therefore its imei was changed, but im sure its completely new device. Whatever its working and stable, and can be completely drained off without any bs about battery sleepmod, how its was mentioned by someone on these forums. Sure this may have a place but its should be completely controlled by software/hardware, so i dont keep my eyes on the percentage of charge alltime.
At least there root nocking at the door
