Can someone tell me how to hide installed apps on Samsung s6.
applications > application manager > all
Press on app you want to disable, press the disable button. There are some pre-installed apps that will not have said button so you can't do anything with those. After you've disabled apps, you can scroll to the far right in the application manager and see them under the "disabled" heading.
You can also check out this thread, definitely has some good info.

Here is a tutorial to get rid of from Samsung's spammy Galaxy Apps notifications
if you don't want to go the page
Step 1. Open the app drawer, then find the Galaxy Apps store.
Step 2. Tap the ‘More’ button, then tap ‘Settings’ in the top-right corner.
Step 3. Deactivate the ‘Push notification’ toggle. This will stop the app from launching notifications when Samsung decides to promote a certain item.
Step 4. Since you’re here, this could be the perfect place to stop app update notifications. You can do this by deactivating the self-explanatory toggle in the Settings screen.
thanks those are always so annoying

Have you enabled unknown sources?
Enable installation of non-Google Play applications.
From home, swipe up to access Apps.
Tap settings app icon Settings > lock screen settings icon Lock screen and security > Unknown sources to enable this option.
You'll need to do this every time you install a 3rd party app as the setting won't stay enabled.

Hi there,
is there a way to stop apps being killed?
Some of the apps, that I need to stay open, are being automatically killed in the background, even though there is enough RAM (2.2GB).
I went to battery settings or anything, but there is no option that I could find.
Any way to do it without root?
Regards

It's done differently on EMUI 8 devices.
Settings > Battery > App launch
Select your app, turn off the toggle so you get a pop-up called Manage manually. Make sure the three options are enabled (blue) then press the OK button.
This will stop the operating system from closing the app.

Might be Doze doing that then. Try playing with those settings:
Open the 'Settings' app
Select 'Apps and Notifications'
Select 'Apps'
Press the 'Settings' cog at the bottom of the screen
Select 'Special Access'
Select 'Ignore Battery Optimisation'

Did not know about that, will try it out, thanks!
Done this, app is still being closed, even when I opened it the evening before I went to sleep. It is an app that will alert me when someone is having a hart-attack in my neighbourhood. Quit annoying.
For EMUI 8, tried everything on mate9, any setting is useless to stop closing apps in background, only can do:
1. swift to apps using push notification
2. downgrade to EMUI5.0
3. rooting if possible.
What I have found is that if you lock the app in the open app manager window it won't kill it.
I want to change the behavior of the long-press on the home button so it doesn't try to launch assistant. I'd like it to do nothing.
I tried disabling assistant, but this just displays an obnoxious banner telling me to turn on assistant.
I did find this app that allows you to remap the button to all sorts of things, but would prefer something that doesn't need all those permissions.
This is with 3-button navigation enabled as I'm using Nova Launcher on Android 10. Phone is not rooted.
[edit] and of course, I found the answer immediately after posting the question:
Settings > Apps & Notifications > Default apps > Assist app - change it to "None"

Only thing is if you use the "Squeeze" for Google Assistant it disables that too. Which is good or bad depending on how you feel about GA. I just got mine today so I'm still playing with things. Might delete later,IDK.
In our smart phone some default application is installed and I can not change the permission so any solution to denied permission without our device move on root
You may go to settings > apps and notifications > show all apps (you might also need to display "system processes" using the 3 dot menu on the top right hand corner depending on the app)
There, you should be able to either disable or uninstall the app, or change its permissions
