Subsidy Unlock Running CM 11 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I have an AT&T Samsung Skyrocket. I rooted it and have installed CM 11-20150412-NIGHTLY-skyrocket. I'm trying to subsidy unlock this device. After no small amount of hassle by AT&T they have given me an unlock code based on my IEMI. This is the body of the e-mail they sent me:
Thank you for contacting AT&T Customer Care about unlocking your AT&T Mobile device.
CASE: CMaaaaaaaa_bbbbbbbbb
MOBILE: xxxxxxxxxx
IMEI: yyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
UNLOCK CODE: zzzzzzzz
We have reviewed your request and confirmed that the device may be unlocked.
Please allow 24 hours upon receipt of this notification to complete the unlock process.
To unlock your device, simply:
1. Power off the device, remove the battery, and insert a non-AT&T SIM card.
2. Re-insert the battery and power on the device with non-AT&T SIM.
3. The device displays” Enter the device unlock code.”
4. Enter the eight-digit unlock code once.
5. Press OK.
If your device has been altered from the original manufacturer’s standards, such as rooting the device, your unlock code may not work and you will need to contact the original manufacturer for assistance.
Please visit this link http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location or call Samsung Mobile Customer Support 1-888-987-HELP (4357) Mon - Fri : 7am - 2am (CST) Sat - Sun : 9am - 10pm (CST)
I went to a T-Mobile store and they let me use a brand new SIM. When I powered the phone up I got the prompt for the unlock code. I carefully entered it and got a message the the unlock was unsuccessful. I powered it up again and even more carefully entered the unlock code. Same results.
More time on hold with AT&T and they decided that it needed to be an "Activated" SIM. So I did that. Needless to say I got the same results with 2 people verifying the entry of the unlock code.
Even more time on hold with AT&T and I got a third copy of the above e-mail with the text about altering the phone highlighted.
How can I accomplish a subsidy unlock on a rooted/ROMed Skyrocket?

Backup everything on your phone. Use Odin to go back fully stock, recovery and all. Do the unlock procedure, then reinstall custom recovery and ROM.

Wow! Not sure I want to unlock that badly.
Thanks for the reply.

unlock codes only work on stock firmwares.
the free unlock method only works on one specific firmware.
either way u would have to backup ur cm11 rom to proceed, easy, yes.
but ive read that att were giving out fubar codes, ymmv.

Say it isn't so!
AT&T has done that to me before. That time I was on a Captivate with stock ROM. They actually gave me a $100 credit toward international roaming because they couldn't unlock the phone. That was less than I spent so I made money on their fubar!

[Q] Sony Xperia U network unlock

It's probably a n00b question so apologies in advance, but if I root / bootloader unlock and Cyanogenmod flash an Android phone that's locked to a certain network, will that network lock be removed along with the official default Android ROM? Or is the lock at something like a BIOS level (or whatever the smartphone equivalent of a BIOS is)?
I bought a pre-unlocked Xperia U about a year ago that I've been using on Vodafone and had to return it under warranty (got stuck in a boot loop despite the fact that it's totally unmodified, not even rooted, honest!) and the replacement they sent back is locked to Virgin Mobile. They're telling me that the phone I sent them was originally sold to Virgin in France and locked to Virgin before I bought it, and that they've therefore fulfilled their responsibility. So I'm just wondering now about unlocking, and I've always been curious anyway about how / if bootloader unlocking, custom ROMs etc are related to network unlocking.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide with this!

well u can unlock it.. by getting the code from sony..
It will also unlock the ph..'s Sim lock..
Or ask the sony officialy for this.. they'll provide u every info required.
But unlocking the bl will do the job for you to be sim free
But do double check this from google too.
Also before unlocking pls make a backup as it will wipe everything from the device.
Just unlock and don't flash any custom kernels. If you want to then do it carefully pls with a backup and a copy of flashable stock rom.
Flash custom roms based on stock kernels
Hope this will answer the query..
Thanks for your reply! I spoke to Sony and they just told me to contact the network (which have done and they're wanting to charge me a fee to provide the unlock code). So to clarify, if I root the phone and unlock the bootloader, the network SIM lock will also be removed?

When I dial that number, the number just disappears. What is it for? They want £15.32 for the code. Should I just pay them and forget about trying to remove the lock?

Sorry the code is this
*#*#7378423#*#*
check the sim lock counters should be zero in all..
if zero then once u can try googling the code for unlocking if they work then it's great.
if not then it would be better to pay them for this as its a bit risky..
and are u using virgin's network??
As it's cheaper what they areaskingfor i guess.

How bypass TMobile Unlock App & get Prompt to enter Network Unlock Code / IMEI unlock

How bypass TMobile Unlock App & get Prompt to enter Network Unlock Code / IMEI unlock
Can't seem get the phone to prompt for to Enter Network Unlock Code or IMEI unlock input anywhere after I put a different carrier sim or invalid sim. Is there anyway we can bypass the 3rd Party Tmo Unlock App or get the phone to bypass to enter the network unlock code? The phone is already Rooted running on various ROM such as Darthstalker, Resurrection and Dr, Ketan L2 and also Rooted Stock ROM, but noting seem to get the sim to prompt to enter network unlock. Try Build.Prop nothing there...so far. Try Deleting sys file, apk and other Efs nothing work.... Do I need to change or install a new Baseband/Radio/Modem?
Its built into the T-Mobile based roms if I'm not mistaken. If you flashed an international rom I would think it would go away and you could get the standard unlock prompt. Thats how others have done it in the past. They flashed MetroPCS roms and then unlocked and then flashed back. Make sure its safe to flash an international rom first (even if only temporary).
Has anyone been able to try this successfully?

It can't be avoided. You must unlock through the app. If you install a custom ROM, and are able to get an unlock prompt from the phone, the code you buy over the internet will not work. You are best to go through the unlocking tools which cost between 25-30 and will let you unlock it with the T-mobile app.

You DON"T need an Unlock code for these new Samsung Tmobile phones.
If the phone has been paid off for over 30 days then you can use the free "Tmobile Device Unlock" app to unlock
it and if the phone is STOCK and no one deleted the unlock app it should be in the app drawer of the phone.
If the "Device Unlock" app is not in the app drawer then you can simply download it from the playstore.
To unlock it with the unlock app it only takes one click.
The Device Unlock app will NOT ask for any codes at all it only asks if you want temporary or permanent unlock.
Here is the direct playstore link for the Tmobile Device Unlock app in case you need it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....simlock&hl=en
Here is Tmobile's "Device Unlock" step by step instruction link in case you need it:
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-14011
I unlocked my Tmobile S6 Edge+ and when I go into Settings>Mobile networks and click on
"Network operators" then click "Search Now" it displays Tmobile, AT&T and Verizon as options.
P.s. If the Unlock Device app does NOT unlock your phone it means that it's either not paid off or it has been stolen. (Blacklisted)
Good luck,
Have a great day!
Or, you can use a third party unlocking service like UnlockRadar.com. Here is a link: https://www.unlockradar.com/service/t-mobile-usa-device-unlock-app-official-unlock

I know when I put completely stock note5 that I have used the unlock app and it successfully unlocked the phone. After I flashed the rims, the app does not work but I also loose unlock. Anyone else have this issue or know what to do to get unlock back with a custom rom?

Sadly this is true! The people who think they are entitled to everything and anything are ruining a lot of stuff for everyone else! A lot of devs just gave up and left because of people like this and crybabies who don't read first before doing something to their phone and then suddenly their incompetence is somehow the devs fault!? People need to grow up already.. Seriously!

Galaxy Note 10 VZW Flashing Firmware to Bypass Sim Lock SM-N970U to SM-N970U1

Hi All,
Been at this for several hours today and feeling a bit frustrated. Here's the context.
I bought a used Verizon Galaxy Note 10 and took it to another country.
I arrived and put a sim card in *(the phone is intended to stay here)
4G signal appeared and text messages came in
Phone blocked signal and said "sorry, your device cannot be activated on another Network right now" then it says to call Verizon.
I call Verizon and ask how to unlock.
After transferring to multiple agents, the answer is that the phone is not locked in their system and that upon inserting a SIM from another carrier, I should be prompted to put in a code and it will be "00000000" to unlock the phone
The phone never presents this option and is perpetually unable to activate because of this sim lock.
At this point, I started reading up on how I could get around this and settled on using odin to flash firmware for a different carrier and maybe having to flash the SM-N970U1 packages because that should allow me to have different stock firmware.
So I proceed to download various different images.
Here is the TMB image for SM-N970U that I downloaded:
https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-N970U/TMB/N970USQU6FUBH
I also figured maybe I would be able to flash the verizon base image and get around this lock:
https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-N970U/VZW/N970USQU6FUCD
So then I proceed to use Odin3_v3.14.4 and place all of the 4 files in their corresponding fields in odin. The file list is as follows for one of the packages:
BL_N970USQU6FUD9_CL21599467_QB39871099_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
AP_N970USQU6FUD9_CL21599467_QB39871099_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT_meta_OS11.tar.md5
CP_N970USQU6FUD9_CP19049000_CL21599467_QB39871099_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
CSC_OMC_OYN_N970UOYN6FUD9_CL21599467_QB39871099_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
I click start, the phone is recognized and then the flashing appears to occur successfully until it says pass at the end.
I reboot the phone and I notice right away that the signal is present, but then disappears and as the phone initializes the VERIZON message appears again.
Immediately I'm thinking, ok, I've just reflashed it with the TMobile image but the phone boots and says verizon and the sim lock is still there, so I probably didn't do something right.
So I factory reset, try again, no changes, I try adding the USERDATA and it also does nothing different.
At this point I'm willing to try the U1 firmware, so I download from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/n970u-and-n970u1-firmware-links-here.3957705/
But when I run the odin flash, I get model mismatch, yet the thread says they're compatible as U1 is just the samsung unlocked version. so I try the odin patch b found here:
https://odindownload.club/download/197/Odin3-v3.14.1-3B-PatcheD.zip
And it fails to write.
I am in desperate need of help as I've been unable to find more specific information, typically in threads people may say they've resolved the issue, but then they don't actually indicate what steps they took, or any of the details surrounding the resolution. If I can get help getting this resolved, I can document the exact steps i've taken in explicit detail so that others can follow them and achieve the same result.
Update:
Downloaded FRIJA to get the latest firmware, am going to explore doing a nand erase and repartition, followed by flashing tmobile firmware to see if that gets around it.
following:

Flashing a (custom) ROM on an Android phone doesn't give one SIM unlock because the SIM lock stuff is in a separate ROM chip that is not part of the normal phone storage, AFAIK the SIM lock is stored in the Radio NVRAM, but I may err as always ...
Verizon has a 6 month unlock policy. if the phone is free of debt and older than 6 months it should be automatically unlocked. phone them, you bought the phone in good faith.

That's why I am thinking of wiping the NVRAM and just re-partitioning. Then I'll flash a non-verizon system onto it. Could be that this resolves it.
Thoughts?

So this appears to be true.
I loaded up ADB and turned on USB debugging and started passing shell commands through and found these files in the system with nvram in the name:
/sys/module/dhd/parameters/nvram_path
/vendor/firmware/nvram.txt_ES03_semco_b0
/vendor/firmware/nvram.txt_1rh_es13_b0
/vendor/firmware/nvram.txt_CS01_semco_b1
/vendor/firmware/nvram.txt_ES02_semco_b0
/vendor/firmware/nvram.txt_1rh_es43_b1
/vendor/firmware/nvram.txt_1rh_es41_b1
/vendor/firmware/nvram.txt_1rh_es32_b0
/vendor/firmware/nvram.txt_ES00_semco_b0
/vendor/firmware/nvram.txt_ES01_semco_b0
/vendor/firmware/nvram.txt_1rh_es12_b0
/vendor/firmware/nvram.txt_1rh_es42_b1
/vendor/firmware/nvram.txt_1rh_es11_b0
Makes me wonder if the value for locked/unlocked is editable in one of those files.
a sample of what is in the /vendor/firmware/nvram.txt_ES03_semco_b0 file:
### RSDB mode Parameters(Both core are active)

In any case I have an issue that I can't seem to resolve. Every guide I have found about how to change carrier firmware is pretty straightforward. Yet when I flash the firmware successfully through odin for say, the sprint version of the phone, upon reboot, in about phone still says VZW, which basically tells me the phone isn't actually flashing.
I need to understand why I can't seem to get it to have another carrier's firmware. What am I doing wrong?

Maybe I can edit this with ADB?
I have seen several forums where people with the same error message simply flashed another carriers firmware onto the phone and were able to get around it.
Here is someone saying they tried the U1 firmware and it gave them the option to put in an unlock code:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/is-verizon-locking-s10.3908683/post-80813873
Every time I try to flash the U1 firmware odin tells me model mismatch.
Update:
I flashed the latest available ATT version of U1 firmware from here:
https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-N970U1/ATT/N970U1UEU6FUDA
Using Odin patch 3B downloaded from here:
https://www.droidmirror.com/downloading/download-odin3_v3-13-1_3b_patched-zip
Having tried many U firmware + USERDATA from different carriers and never was able to get it to say anything other VZW in the about phone section.
By going to the U1 version I was able to get the unlock code portion to pop up when inserting the sim card, the phone also claims it's model number is SM-N970U1 instead of SM-N970U now.
The code Verizon gave me on the phone 0000 0000 flat out DOESN'T work. I called again today and they had their manager use a tool to provide an unlock code because the "unlock" button in their system didn't appear for my IMEI.
That system said the unlock code is 0000 0000 just like the tech the previous day. So now, they're transferring me to the advanced technical support, but somehow I doubt they will give me a code.
In any case, what I would rather do is go through ADB and try to get some binaries or text files out (may require root for these files) and get the unlock code from the device itself.
I wish this thread was more active because there are some good opportunities here to explore the OS itself and the files in it as well as tools that can be used to read the binary.
Spoke with "Advanced" support at verizon. They had no way to generate a code to unlock the device. Basically Verizon's systems didn't automatically generate an unlock code after the previous owners had the phone activated for the minimum 60 days. Because the phone was a prepaid phone and not a post paid phone, their system deleted the history of the of the prepaid account after a certain period of time when the previous owner had sold the phone to the repair shop and it sat there for months.
BASICALLY, Verizon phones are uniquely equipped with a block that prevent legitimate purchasers of various types from being able to use their devices as they hold everyone hostage with their network locking.
It looks like I can't root the device either because of the oem unlock option not being present and the workaround of changing the date not presenting the option.
At this point I'm looking to root the device so I can inspect the OS

Hello I came across your thread because I am having the same issue. I think mine is similar because thus phone was a replacement through asurion/verizon. It also says its unlocked when verszon looks and when asurion looks, but I do not have service for more than 10 secind with my new AT&T Sim. Have you found anything new?.
I also looked into rooting the phone but I don't plan to keep this phone and if I want to do the trade in process and they see the root on the back end I will not receive the trade in money.

If Verizon says the phone is unlocked, make sure to Flash the U package with Verizon bloat. Connect phone to Wifi and the unlock should happen. They only seem to unlock when on the Verizon bloat U package. Anything other than that and the phone stays locked. Once it unlocks you can flash back to whatever you want.

Is the Motorola website not working properly for unlocking the bootloader on devices? Every time i try to request the unlock key for it a page that only says "There has been an error with your request." appears. What can i do to unlock the bootloader even with this error?

If the previous owner possibly still owes money on it then you can't unlock the bootloader. You'd have to get the unlock app from TMO and they'd have to authorize it to make it unlockable bootloader, which TMO won't do if there's money owed on it.
You should be able to unlock it. The exception is if the previous owner relocked the bootloader. In that case, the bootloader cannot be reunlocked.

the Device Unlock app says that its permantly unlocked
Edit: the seller i bought it from said the IMEI associated with the phone was clean and said it had no problems having to do with not being paid off
I am also having a problem. This seems to be a problem with their website. I tried different browers, computers, and connections. Get that error every time after submitting the device key.
I tried with my new G100, and I have the same error. Any idea of a workaround?
I am having the same error with my Motorola G Stylus 2020 it has to be with their websites ive tried different browsers, computers, they need to solve this issue!!!
same error, i pray their system is down temporarily, G100 with different browsers.
I tried all methods that involve the motorola website I found on the forum but none work. I contacted motorola support, I'll keep you posted if I find anything.
Same here. I called and finally got level 2 support which said they couldn't help. They sent me to the motorola forums where I've asked about it. Will post if I get a reply as well.
Here is a link for the motorola unlock bootloader thread. Post your device ID there

I asked support and they told me the site was down and should be up in a few day. I re-tried now and it worked. I got my code. But the OEM unlock option in the developer settings is still grayed out. Apparently I have to wait which is stupid, I'm very close to just return the phone.

Yep. i did it just now and the site seems to be working again
confirmed working again
Ok, for reference, as there are some different things scattered alongside the forum.
I have a G100, german model (I'm in switzerland, but it's considered german).
What I had to do:
- go here <https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-a>
- contrary to what customer service told me, the global portal works, even with a german model
- the website was down, but it's up now, if it's down for you, I guess you'll have to try again, customer support did not help me
- BUT, to be able to use the unlock code with `fastboot oem unlock <code>` you need first to activate "OEM unlock" in the Developer settings.
- To access this settings, you need to activate the phone. Some says it works on wifi, but I used LTE for the initial setup, just to be sure. After the setup, I did a few calls, I don't know if this is significant, but the first call took like 5 minutes to connect (I say this because you might be tempted to turn the phone off right after the activation). I applied all the updates, left my phone on my desk, and after 72h this settings was accessible (not grayed).
- After toggling the setting, you can use `fastboot oem unlock` and proceed with lineage installation
I just successfully bootloader unlocked a Moto G 5G (2022) using the website. It took them about five minutes to email me the unlock code after I submitted the string on the website.
Keep in mind that you are referencing two different things: network locks, and bootloader locks. The device may have a clean IMEI and be network unlocked (you can use any carriers SIM in the SIM tray). This doesn't necessarily mean that the bootloader can be unlocked for purposes of flashing custom ROMS. You'll need a phone that is both network unlocked and has an unlockable bootloader.
that's why wiko is better........
I'm having the same issue but with my xt2131-1 model. I received the unique code via email and it says failed to validate code.

Question OnePlus unlock token page blank

Greetings, so I recently upgraded my phone to oxygenos12 and it came with a lot of glitches and I hate it. Try to flash back oxygen11 and realised the bootloader is locked. So I tried downloading back the unlock token for the phone from my email and the oneplus token page keeps coming up blank with no token download. I saw you have to be logged in to download it and I did the same and I get the same blank page. what's really going on here? I really need oxygen11 back since this 12 here isn't supporting my two sim cards and my cellular data isn't working!!!!
OnePlus page must be down. I’ve been trying to get on there for the last 12 hours.
I have been trying this too,, it's coming blank.. like what's happening here I just get my new phone which is t mobile varient
Website is still down for me. I contacted OnePlus and they went on the routine of trying to make me fill out for another unlocking token and telling me it’s 7 days blah blah blah. They weren’t getting the fact that their website is broken. Finally after 30 different screen shots and copied links they finally understood. Hopefully the IT team can get the page back up asap
Still blank for me. Just my luck... I've been putting off rooting my oneplus 6t for so many years and finally decided to do it...

Hi you shouldn't need a token to unlock bootloader for OnePlus devices.
You should also have OEM unlock enabled in developer options.
Fastboot OEM unlock

this is inncorrect for the TMOBILE variant. FOR TMOBILE ONLY.... the oem unlock option is only so you can retrieve the unlock code. once you receive the token you will be able to flash it and fully unlock the phone.

I still haven't been able to get on the site. It's still broken here for me. I talked to chat support multiple times and it takes some convincing that the site is actually broken. Then I send them links and screenshots and they say they will send it over to IT.. but is been almost a week and nothing has been fixed... I asked them it they could send me my unlock token file in a email and no response lol
This is my first experience with one plus and it's not so good the phone is good but the tech support sucks nobody seems to know anything about why the page is broken or when it will be fixed or for that matter any way to deal with this token crap.
Looks like OnePlus doesn’t give a ****.this is ridiculous
I just got done with chat support was able to drag some info out apparently the support department has only received a communication from the team handling the token page issue with please give more time. I have a feeling that they have no idea what's going on and have a complete communication breakdown so who knows how long this is gonna take. I only received the generic answer of please give another 24hrs for a response "I won't hold my breath" in the meantime dose anyone know a bypass for getting around this token nonsense?

Wrong!!! The T-Mobile variant requires a unlock token. Only the factory unlocked version does not.

There is no way. I've been looking everywhere and there is nothing that says how to bypass it. If this doesn't get fixed tomorrow, I'm sending phone back and not getting a t-mobile variant ever.

Technically it is the T-Mobile software that's triggering that. If you convert it to global or EU, you don't need it, but you get stuck having to have root to get data working (software thinks the phone is dual SIM and it breaks it). Also, if your device is SIM locked, it's stuck that way unless you flash back to T-Mobile firmware to unlock it.

Well what your saying is not possible because in order to flash firmware, you need to have the bootloader unlocked so NO!!!

Nope, just an MSM Tool that can flash a T-Mobile variant. I don't know if one exists for the 9 but there is one for the 9 Pro that you can use to get to EU software and then use the global 9 downgrade package to get back to proper 9 firmware.
Convert your T-Mobile (LE2127) to EU via MSM, No unlock.bin needed!
*** Use this at your very own risk. *** You will lose all data *** Backup your working modemst1/2 and persist. If you lose these for any reason, it's unique to your device and not recoverable if you didn't back up (via MSM or other people). ***...
