Group Message Toast Notification - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone else been annoyed that every time you go into a text message the toast notification pops up saying that it will be sent as a multimedia notification? See the picture.

Not sure if you realise, but that image is tiny and I can't really make out anything.

I did realize but was hoping it was legible. I don't know ow hoe to make it bigger. But either way I'm sure anyone with the phone could see that any time you open a thread from the OEM messaging app with a group Message there is a constant reminder that it will be sent as a multimedia message. It is very annoying.

I'm guessing this is a dpi/screen size issue. Our screens are more of a 16:9 view (not sure if that's exact, just saying it seems that way). Personally, that's one of the only things I don't like about the phone. I miss the wider screen on my HD2, same as the Desire HD. Maybe that has something to do with it? Try playing with DPI settings, or use Spare Parts and check/uncheck compatibility mode, that used to fix screen app screen issues on the HD2. It doesn't bother me that much so I'm not gonna mess with it too much, but you can :highfive:

Can't remove "3 unread messages" notification from OPO custom lockscreen

Any ideas what app that "3 unread messages" notification could be linked to and how to remove it? I have tried marking all emails as read, and marking all SMS as read, with no luck. Its a very odd error and quite annoying as I like the custom lock screen.
By any chance you don't have 2 sms apps installed, like go sms and stock? If so, you'd have to clear them from both apps, and then disable the one you don't use.
That was it, thanks very much! Had to re enable stock messaging and clear its SMS.

No problem, figured that's what it was. I normally just delete the stock sms apk, personally.

Do you have Facebook messenger?? I noticed that on my nexus 5. I believe it the area where you closed the app. Similar to the area on top of the screen to remove a widget. A reboot fixed mine.

I do have messenger, but I don't have any active chat heads. It happens now whenever I'm in landscape.

Pink line running down the edge panel

This annoying pink line, about 2dpi in width, just popped up in my edge panel. It runs down the whole thing and never goes away. Even when i reboot into recovery. I've restarted the phone, factory resetted it, etc. but it's still there. The funny thing is it doesn't show up on screen shot. I'll get a pic with another device and post it when i can. Anyone have a fix? Is there a code i can put in the dialer to get to screen settings?

But it's not there in screen shot
If it doesn't show up in a screenshot, and it still turns up in recovery etc it's probably safe to say it isn't a software problem sorry seems like a hardware issue
Thats definitely a screen issue not software. Your display might have been hit/dropped but either way its physical damage.
Sorry..
That's what i thought. Ugh

No Text Notifications After Switching Back to Default App

T-mobile limits the size of videos sent by text message for the stock Samsung app. So in order to send a longer video I recently found out I can just use textra..
However, after using textra for a bit and then switching back to the stock messaging app, my gear s3 will not get txt notifications!
I ended up resetting the watch to fix it.. But it has happened again through that same process.
Any thoughts?
I have an s8
S3 classic
T-mobile
Thanks,
DG
I wanted to show some tests that I did.
The first message is me using my watch number, so using 4g
The second message is me using my phone number thru bluetooth...as you can see, it doesn't actually show it' ever sent the message, but my phone did get it...
So something is wrong with the messaging app connecting with the phone as it shows the messages arent being sent (even if they are) when using my watch to send a text with my actual phone number.
Sigh
