HTC SENSE 7 LAUNCHER FOR S6/S6 EDGE
Ok guys, so far this is just a base for a project, currently my device doesn't have root, therefore I'm doing what i can without. Therefore here is the sense 7 launcher working that can be installed on your Galaxy S6/Edge. Install both APK'S
Once/IF we get root i can definitely get things working better. However, in the meantime, when placing widgets you can jut tap them, and move them later.

Just wanted to ask if there has been a fix for the broken G+ plugin for Blinkfeed?
Much obliged,
Da Baron

I believe their is a thread floating around xda that not only has the launcher but other apps as well like gallery, keyboard, music, etc
If I find it I'll link it for the other apps and it also has more plug-ins G+ FB ETC
I'll be watching this thread for sure I miss my M8 badly

Stock Android on Epic

I just want to be sure I am not missing anything - there are not any Epic roms out yet right? to put it a different way, every single epic owner on the planet is currently using the Sprint/Samsung factory version of Android 2.1, yes?
Have spent a number of hours on xda and google, but wanted to be sure I was correct on this one.
Just really anxious to get away from Touchwiz, it doesn't even really feel like Android.

You're correct, no custom roms yet. In the meantime you could install a different launcher such as launcher pro and adw launcher to give your phone a more aosp look

Honestly, after I installed ADW Launcher, Beautiful Widgets, rooted the phone, and uninstalled all the Sprint crap with Root Manager / Titanium Backup, I'm actually happy with what's left of Touch Wiz. The dialer / contacts / integration etc is actually pretty nice. My phone looks like stock 2.2 now, but has a few nice improvements.

Agreed. I think touchwiz is like a double edgd sword. One the one hand it has a ton of features and usability improvements, on thbe other hand it looks horrible. Launcher pro gets rid of the ugly and adds even more features.
I wouldn't want stock android even if it were available.

This is good info, thanks guys. maybe we'll get a chef who knows how to keep the good and eliminate the useless/ugly... and hopefully froyo to boot
I'm pretty happy with the stock ROM. I just use LauncherPro instead of Samsung's launcher and it's fantastic.

I agree 110%, there are some nice improvements once you remove all the crap
To switch to a stock vanilla launcher -- How To: Disable TouchWiz Epic 4G
Although it only has three screens, I've found it to be really really responsive and reliable. It always works very fast.

if we get good devs for the epic i may buy one. looks as there isn't as much interest as the evo has.
I can't wait to see some roms start to pop up, gonna be nice to have a working hotspot without paying 30 dollars a month

Widgets etc

I was thinking of getting a Nexus S but want to check something with those that know more about this than I. I have a bunch of HTC sense widgets in .apk (extracted via Titanium Backup) that I like. I have so far assumed that all I need do is buy the Nexus S and then transfer the .apk's and install them from there (calendar, clock etc). Is this actually posible or have I taken an overly simplistic view of this?
Perhaps there are dependancies I am not aware of etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You cant run HTC widgets ... as simple as that.
Try to find alternatives.
Well that sucks. >.<
I wonder why that is. Also, does that mean I can only installed widgets that have been specifically developed with the Nexus S in mind?

Because HTC widgets rely on the Sense UI frameworks to work. The Nexus S doesn't have them.
Same story for the Galaxy S line of widgets that rely on the TouchWiz frameworks.
Beautifull widgets have almost all the htc widgets.. It will cost you a litlle though..

Moved to Q&A

[Q] anyone know if there is a way to put sense 3 or 3.5 on the samsung roms?

i like everything about this phone but the ui
then you shouldn't have gotten the phone .. and this is a Q and should not be in the dev section

Then you should've gone HTC... Normally we're not like this. Post things in the right section and we're much nicer.
You did try the phone before you bought it, right?
1. Print this out.
2. Acquire scotch tape
3. Tape to phone
4. ?????
5. Profit!

well do you just want the launcher and widgets or the whole set of menus dialer and more?
you can use 3rd party apps like go contacts and launcher pro and go weather or beautiful widgets or fancy widget and replace the lock screen with a market ap but to port the ui takes work both ui's have some kernel integration and the phones use completely different hardware so it takes a lot of work from experienced developers and none here have any interest in that. best i can tell you is to buy a sensation or it's canadia equivelant if you are not satisfied with market app.
though i do like mikeys suggestion.
I prefer Mikey's suggestion, agree with Dani's and suggest you look at how the proposed Sense port went for the original sgs and then come back......
I used Sense with Cookie's improvments. The GO Launcher and ALL of its addons are actually far superior - then add 2 quicklauncher - and this phone DESTROYS sense. Just a bit more work to get all assembled - but its all there and WAY MORE.

Getting TRUE sense UI on samsung based rom is (impossible??). Porting them is a lot harder then anyone might think.
sense is very heavy. i remember even 2 years ago on windows mobile phones it consisted of thousands of files. and it seems to only have gotten more bloated. its definitely not impossible, but its so intertwined with the framework, it would take alot of work. htc is not going to make it easy.

yeah I didn't know.. I know they port all the time from htc to htc so didnt know how it was from htc to another model or another model to htc.. the sense 3.5 for my inspire was great but the phone button broke, so i got the samsung infuse until the next htc came out.. I do however like some of the feedback i got and with a few free apps from the market ive got it dialed in with the htc looks without the battery cpu and mem hog.. may just get the galaxy 2 and mod it the same way and see if i can hold off on the htc.. but i hear the htc holiday aka raider is going to be amazing

[APP] Flipboard for Android

You know how Flipboard was exclusive only to the Galaxy S III? Sure, you can stand in line and wait for the official launch for the Android app, but since we are all buddies here...
It's simple, I just had a Galaxy S III lying around and I extracted the .apk using AirDroid. So, there you go.
Woot! My favorite site has covered me - http://blog.gsmarena.com/flipboard-...gs-cool-news-feeds-to-non-galaxy-s-iii-users/
About the S Voice, I no longer have the phone with me. But I'll try my best to get it again and extract everything you guys have asked for. Stay tuned.
edit : how to create account : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25871282&postcount=141
edit 2 : for working widget install app in internal storage (not on sdcard)

Can you get the S VOICE apk as well please?
thanks +1 for S Voice please
Thanks, downloading right now!
I think that S Voice implies the presence of Samsung/Touchwiz Framework to work.
Edit: Works on Galaxy S Cm9 (Ice Cream Sandwich)
Min Req
I'm asking about the minimum requirements for the device to run this app??
Thanks !!! You are an absolute legend I finally won't miss my iPhone !)))
Great, let me try.
Woohoo!
Now to see if it grinds on my SGS as much as Currents does....
Update: Like butter, even on the original GT-I9000!
thankss.. working fine on my galaxy S i9000 !!!
Nervana!!
Awesomesauce! Just installed it on my Transformer Prime and it works like a charm
EDIT: it acts a bit funny after a while... like after flipping a page, it returns back to the previous page on its own. clicking on that page brings you to the new page you're supposed to be seeing. maybe it's still pulling content from the net? still very useable so far though...
Very laggy and lots of FCs on gtablet honeycomb. Also, not working in landscape. Any fix?
Hi,
thanks a lot for this! Works like a charm.. What would we be without the xda community?
cheers,
it installed and opened on my samsung vibrant. i haven't checked it out enough to see about lags and FC's.
Only thing I don't like is the forced resolution
Excellent, thank you. Am I being silly, or is there an obvious way to create an account for Flipbook?
Dafuq. Wheres the widgets? I hope its not cooked into TW5 cuz it does not come with this app

Will not work on my Desire with CM7.
amazing thanks alot .. the only thins missing is the widgets
Smooth as silk on my Galaxy S2. Hoping for S VOICE app as well

Isn't this what has already been achieved by the user in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/htc-blinkfeed-plugins-devices-08-03-2015-t3049438
And rather successfully I might add.

I could be mistaken, but the one you link to seems to just be Blinkfeed related, where this is the Sense 7 launcher. Seems like you'd already have to have the Sense launcher to use the Blinkfeed plugins from that other thread.

It is the launcher and all. Like you said you can't have the plug ins without the launcher. The OP of that thread covers it all. He is even going to get the themes to work too. He had spent a lot of time getting it to work for any device.
I can't get any of the news feeds to show up in blonkfeed. I can choose which ones, but when I go back to the home, nothing shows up.
