S4 System Apps Safe To Remove

Here is a list of Galaxy S4 i9505 system apps safe to remove:
Please use some caution when deleting apps, just because they are 'safe' to remove doesn't mean you won't need them.
For example: DO NOT delete GoogleContactsSycAdapter.apk if you need to sync your Google contacts.
I have deleted everything on this list from my system apps as they are things I don't use.
I actually NEVER REMOVE system apps completely. I MOVE them to a folder on my external SD. That way if I ever want anything back I can simply copy it back again. I would suggest you do the same.

If you want apps to stay deleted after reboot you must remove the PreloadInstaller.apk from system/apps
I will update this as I find more.
If people know of any apps not on this list let me know so I can add it to OP.

Yes that's correct
You must delete the preloadinstaller.Apk otherwise the apps you deleted are reinstalled on reboot.

Thanks for the list mate. Can you freeze these through Titanium, or will they pop up again because of the preloadinstaller?

Freezing in TB is different. If you freeze apps you don't need to worry about the preload installer, no harm in freezing this anyway though

Thanks for the list. I'm puzzled about com2usPoker and match3VS. Those are definetely games, but they are nowhere to be found, except for the preinstalled apps section. Why on earth would they put them there? Can't play them and can't delete them without root. My phone is unlocked and bought straight from Samsung, so that is not carrier bloatware. Seems to me like Samsung released a rushed-out firmware that contains junk as well.

Yeah it's weird isn't it. I think you're right about rushed firmware.....in fact I think the whole phone has been rushed if I'm honest. It just doesn't feel to me like it was ready to be released yet.

Those 2 games are part of the group play application.

Yeah, found out earlier. Group Play along with tons of other Samsung crap were the first I disabled. That's why I didn't know where they are located.

Nice list, surprising after I removed all the bloat my phone has no lag and stutters like when it was stock bloated. Samsung are really started to overbloat. For example all those preinstalled crap games. WTF are they thinking?

For those who want a rom lighter fluid and particularly frugal battery that just removes everything that is not used because, to our knowledge, many of these applications are started when the device and end when we shut it down ... This list that I created I use now for each new stock rom and I've never had any ForceClose or random restarts or Bootloops!

I do not need it ... On the Note I can use 3d games! On the nokia it is not possible However you are free to not follow the list I created based on my needs! I got many private messages to users who wanted to know how to get the results that I got on the beautiful SweetRom...this thread is the solution!

that would be very usefull...or maybe you can point something that might be useful. i once try it, everything working fine...but when i remove some more, only picasa sync left...no contact and calendar sync...

I removed all synchronizations because they require a lot of battery...so if you don't use them it's the best thing remove them

hmm... so how do you keep your contact/calendar backed-up?... i flash a lot, so having everything sync to google is nice, i only need to remember to backup my sms (which i miss sometimes). however, i like the setup that use less battery...
and...how do you organize the removal of the file, do you have script or something...

SIM card it's my source of storage of contacts! TitaniumBackup it's my source of storage of calendar! I don't understand the Last question..sorry

the list that you see on the front page shows all the elements that you can delete. In the folder of the language you have to delete all the files leaving only those who have the format name of the language you are using (it is the same number of elements you see in the examples of the Italian language only instead of leaving those, you have to leave those of your language)

i want to retain snote... however i cannot capture screenshot using spen...everything else (ie double tap to open snote,) gesture using spen working fine... what is included?

If you need the S Pen extra functions, then put this two files back:

yes, it would be better, but OP said he don't have time... i'm trying to see by comparing with the list from sgs2, but sgs2 does not have pen.
FlashAnnotate.apk and FlashAnnotateSvc.apk seems a little off from spen hahaha... i mean, we cannot simply guess by filename.
edit: how can we know what apk did what?.... like i want to delete MyFiles apps and replace with total commander.. i have totalcommander.apk, but don't know which file to delete for MyFiles.
edit2: i got it..its SecNoteMyFiles.apk (got this from titanium backup)... i thought it's regarding SNote...

I don't know what's wrong, but when connected, the my computers doesn't show correctly phone and card... it shows /mnt/mmc/Downloaded Data instead of phone (like in attachment)

I've seen the old list and was also wondering if there is an updated one. I have used Titanium to freeze a few that looked like obvious bloatware and have not had any issues. I haven't been adventurous enough as of yet to delete them.
I deleted facebook, twitter, and life square.
I have froze AT&T code scanner, locker, messages, smart WiFi, beats music, browser bar, city ID, device help, W games, LG setup wizard, and my AT&T. I've had these frozen for a couple weeks with no issues and I'd imagine they can be safely deleted.

Can anyone link to the old list?
Also these screenshots are the bloat I removed and have not experienced any issues

[BATCH FILE] Stock Verizon Apps that can be removed..are removed!

I officially started a list and created a batch file that removes all the Verizon bloatware. Also looks like it removes OTA because I no longer have the "software update" option in settings.

Revamped the entire script it should not freeze now. First it suspends the system, then removes the apk's, then soft reboots the system. Please leave feedback.

you could delete those, but if you get the popup and click the video it could crash.

So, I am gathering that you 'disabled' these apps by freezing. And to do that, you have to pay for that app? If you don't have the paid app, is there an alternative?

There are other apps that will freeze. Just do a Playstore search.
You really should consider buying titanium backup. Well worth it for people who root. You own a phone that is expensive..... Spend a few bucks to support the people who develop the apps, that keep your expensive phone running the way you want it to.

Yes, I froze them. I definitely agree with mwshows, titanium pro is one of the best $5 I've ever spent. It's $5 you can probably find in the couch...

Could some one please please send me a copy of the odex files of the s5 weather widget. Only the odex? Pleaaaasse and thank you so much. Root browser / system / app / accuweather2014.odex and WeatherWidgetDaemon.apk
from my (not anymore) locked note 3!

There are no odex (even on my odex stock system) files for these but here are the apps and fonts you need.

No problem, go to the link I posted a couple posts up to get the fonts you need for the weather if you haven't installed them yet.
