Stuck with Samsung Logo after installing TWRP - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I decided to root and installed a custom recovery on my G920l.
The root went fine and I installed TWRP but once I tried to reboot into the recovery my phone has frozen and doesnt want to turn off.
I don't get what I did wrong and how to fix it or at least how to turn the phone off?
Thanks

I just figured out how to restart it holding power + volume down but I guess my TWRP doesnt work...

Try to Flash stock kernal for fix stuck on boot.

The phone is booting fine but I guess the recovery still doesnt work.
And TWRP keep failing to install the custom recovery ???

Thanks

i got the same situration . do u know how to solve it

Hi guys, i have a g920f with 5.1.1.
Installed twrp 2.8.7.1 and i want to install a custom rom. To copy the rom on the phone, in the past on galaxy s4, i used to reboot in recovery twrp, then wipe everything and copy the rom file on the phone.
Now with twrp 2.8.7.1 and S6 when i reboot in recovery mode i'm not able to copy any file on the phone because i don't see the phone in windows explorer.
I think is twrp mtp problem, do you have the same issue? any workaround?
thanks in advance

[Q] can't boot to recovery

Hi Guys,
I have an i9023 running ICS.
I've downloaded the ROM Manager application from the Market to change my kernel. It said I have to flash ClockWorkMod Recovery first. I had it already but I did it as I thought it's not the latest. Flashing was done, it has been rebooted.
Since that I'm unable to boot to recovery or bootloader. Neiter from ROM Manager, nor switching off and choose reboot to recovery. It stucks at Google logo and nothing happens after it.
Also tried to keep the volume buttons pushed while turning my device on, but it boots normally to my ROM.
Any idea? I definitely need a kernel and of course I have to be able to access recovery.
Thank you in advance.
In Rom manager setting, enable erase recovery and then flash again.

You sure you use VOLUME UP + POWER? Other combo's won't work.

You can try with Root Explorer to rename install-recovery.sh if there is system/etc/install-recovery.sh...

Help! TWRP not starting

I tried to install/flash TWRP to my tablet (SM-P900 wifi) using Odin, but it doesn't seem to be working. I've tried Odin v3.09 and v3.07. I have also tried to install TWRP v2.7.0.1 and then v2.7.0.0 for the hell of it. I get a "pass" from Odin and it says the install was a success, but when I enter recovery mode the stock android system recover initiates, not TWRP. I've followed multiple guides to the 'T' with no success. I've even tried to reinstall my USB drivers--though I haven't had any problems connecting my device to my PC. I'm not rooted (yet). I want to root, but I wanted to make a backup before rooting because I was under the impression that I could do that with TWRP. Do I have to root to use TWRP? Any help is appreciated. This is my first time messing around with roots and such. My goal is to root to clear some bloatware and mount an external HDD. Custom ROMS and themes may be in the future, but not now. Should I definitely do a backup before rooting or just root and go from there?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
This may be a silly question, but just to make sure, you are booting into recovery mode and not download mode right? Download mode is volumn down and recovery mode is volumn up.

Not a silly question for a noob haha. Yes, I installed in download mode.
Not sure if this will help but I noticed that when I installed TWRP with autoreboot turned on and I allowed the OS to boot up I lost TWRP. I reflashed with autoreboot unchecked in Odin and then forced the tablet into recovery manually after Odin was done. TWRP loaded up that time and I immediately did my nandroid backup of stock unrooted.

Thank you for your reply. I ended up re-installing the stock firmware/recovery and then flashed TWRP v2.7.0.2 with Odin v3.09. It did the auto reboot, got the pass, then I turned the device off. I tried to boot up in recovery but let go of the buttons too soon, so it booted into OS again (woops). Second time was a charm though, got it to boot into recovery and TWRP booted right up. Yay. I did try to install TWRP v2.7.0.2 before I re-installed the stock firmware, but still wouldn't boot TWRP.

In case of a bootloop, I suggest you download a new rom and install it via twrp's file manager, using a pendrive/otg pendrive. Else, your can flash the stock motorola firmware using fastboot. that method always works in case of softbrick.
Tried to reflash twrp?

Hey, thank you the problem was solved but then I installed CyanogenMod 13.0 on my moto g. After a day of use the phone automatically stopped working and i restarted it. Didnt display screen after CyanogenMod animation. I booted into TWRP recovery, was backing up data into a usb otg when the backup failed and the phone rebooted itself. Now it doesnt even display the CyanogenMod startup animation. I tried to enter twrp recovery again. It shows the main blue screen with twrp written on it but doesnt proceed further instead it restarts. I tried flashing twrp recovery again but the same problem persists. please help me out
Try flashing stock ROM, then again TWRP and CM13 via TWRP. I suggest this version of TWRP (NOTHEME version!).

Phone loading into recovery menu after factory reset?

Hey, I rooted my S6 edge (I believe just using the CF autoroot ROM, if my terminology is correct, I'm not too well versed here) and installed a custom recovery menu (TWRP 3.0) a few months ago and everything was working fine.
Today I decided that I wanted to wipe my phone, and I quickly googled to see if a factory reset from the settings app would play well with a rooted phone, and it said it would, it lied. Now my phone is rebooting only into the TWRP menu. I don't know what to do to fix it.
I've tried reloading the back up I made when I installed TWRP, it restores successfully but when rebooting it crashes. I have to reboot using Power+VolDown+Home. I also tried to just reinstall the ROM (assuming that going to Reboot - Download would be the same as using the stock recovery menu) but it also crashes so I don't think ODIN can detect it, the phone does however get recognised by my computer
I'm completely lost on what to do now, as I'm rather new to this, so any help would be appreciated!

Thank you both for replying. I couldn't get it too turn off, however I did manage to install a custom ROM through TWRP itself. I think I've just installed TWRP wrong, so thats why it was crashing, so I'll update and reinstall when I'm next at home to see if that stops it crashing. Everything seems to be working now though, so thanks!

HELP! Bootloop after flashing TWRP

Hey folks,
my S10e (G970F) is bootlooping after flashing TWRP via Odin. The flashing process via Odin did PASS and I could enter TWRP afterwards because the file "Encryption_Disabler" needed to be installed while still in TWRP but I messed up since I've forgot to put that very specific file to the internal storage before and my PC doesn't seem to mount the S10e after being in recovery mode (TWRP). I was cursing myself and in a fit of distress I decided to reboot the S10e into system and that was when it doesn't boot past the SAMSUNG booting screen anymore. I'm stuck with bootlooping.
As for now, I can enter the download mode , my bootloader is unlocked and I'm back on stock recovery but the device deprives itself from booting up which resulted in a never ending bootloop. And let me tell you, bootlooping can cause extremely distress and you feel like sighing every other seconds because it keeps messing with your brain.
Can you guys help me out here? Thanks for your efforts!
I've managed to fix it myself. YAY! I'm happy!
