Hey guys!
I installed OpenEclair-v1.1.4 firmware 2.1 on my HTC Magic on sunday.
Works fine except the camera doesnt function properly - just a black and white checkered grid and I cannot seem to get a 3g connection, or even a 2g connection to the data service with vodafone.
Is there a setting I need to change somewhere or do something to get my network access back?
Please help!
in the about phone seciton it does say Model Number : T-Mobile myTouch3G which of course is not what i actually own,,,,.

Hi everyone,
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 (16gb) in Singapore and was using it fine on Singtel's network (signed a contract with them). Now I have moved back to Canada and brought my phone with me assuming that all would be ok to use it with the network here. However I'm having big problems with this one network I just signed up with (Virgin Mobile).
85% of the time I cannot connect to it: voice calls and SMSing won't work nor will the data work on it, the only thing it says is "Emergency calls only". Then at other times everything will seem to connect and work fine - I can make calls and use data.
Virgin Mobile will not support me much because they're thinking it's the phone's problem, if I use the phone they gave me (a lower-end model) it works fine.

If I check out the status, it usually says this:
Network
Unknown (switches to VIRGIN when it does work)
Mobile network type
UMTS (switches between that and HSDPA and GPRS)
Service state
Out of service
Mobile network state
Disconnected (switches to connected when working, and even when it's not working sometimes)
I have Network mode set to auto mode (GSM/WCDMA). I've tried to switch it to GSM only but that didn't seem to change anything.
I'm wondering if there's some kind of configuration settings I still need to do with the phone? I'm also wondering if it is the network I'm with right now? Virgin Mobile isn't one of the bigger telcom companies here and I'm thinking that if I switch to one of the bigger telcoms, will it work better?
Something else to add - before I signed up with Virgin I was using my phone with a pre-paid service (called Chatr) for voice only and it was working fine.
I'm sure this phone can support the GSM frequencies here.. can't it?
I also still have the Singtel customizations on the phone. Will it help if I remove it?

Hey guys I'm running the latest xtresto lite deo mod v2.2 I'm getting constant network connection drops not just data but call service/ sms as well i updated to the xtresto mod in hopes of fixing this but it didn't. Its not just my area i live in it does it all over Melbourne in Australia I'm with optus as well if that helps also tried tweaking my apn and new simcard. I generally fix it by turning on airplane mode then off and I've also tried just wcdma/ gsm and just wcdma. Thanks any help would be great
Go back to stock 5.1.1 ROM to fully solve your problems.

I have a samsung galaxy s6(sm-G920F) on 5.1.1 non rooted, the problem i am facing is that the lte stopped working without any reason, i didnt drop it neither i updated anything it just stopped working now i only see the E sign on the network bar, i couldn't find any answer for this so any help is appreciated

You said your rom is not rooted? That probably means the default network settings for your phone is LTE/3G/2G. That option will look for the best signal you have in your current location, then it will choose that data network i.e., EDGE .
It seems like your 4g/LTE signal is weak on your vicinity Perhaps, if you could force LTE (by rooting and installing Advance Signal Status app from Playstore [Device Info >Set Preferred Network Type > LTE only) you can have at least lte reception. Unless, 4g is not available in your area
Try going outside your house, and find open spot and see if your device was able to detect it.
Just let me know if you still have some concerns. Cheers!

But if I insert my sim card in some other mobile i can see the lte sign on top :/
So it cant be the problem with the reception
& one of my friend uses the same simcard as mine
But he's able to use lte
I have tried the WCDMA only option
But cant get the lte sign
Please help me :/

So it cant be the reception which is causing troubles :/
I cant even connect to a 3g
It only connects to an EDGE :/

Same problem for me. Same galaxy s6 model and same original android version 5.1.1 (g920fxxu3q0kn)
From a couple of days it doesn't connect on lte. But the big problem is that if I choose lte/3g/2g it doesn't connect neither in 3g. I have to force it to 3g only to let the device connect back to internet.
I don't know why but when I came back home, if I switch back on lte/3g/2g, it connect back again on 3g (no lte in my home area)
I'm not sure if it is involved with transit in/out wifi spot or some kind of lte cells. I will try other tests next days
I fear it could be a bad bug
is it possible to activate 4g only on our devices because the switching between 4g 3g sometimes makes connection lost in the process .
You can't use 4G only because you will be unavailable for calls. 4G only you can use only if your carrier supports VoLTE.

LTE only/4G only is available on marshmallow beta B511 and on Kitkat firmware (however, in KitKat, it is a hidden option which you can access by installing 'Advanced Signal Status' app in Google Playstore. For Lollipop, it is not possible to have 4G only/LTE only mode unless your phone is rooted. When LTE only /4G only is activated, it will remain on that setting even if you restart your phone. You have to get into the settings again if you want to be back to 3G or other network modes. When LTE only/ 4G only is activated, you will not be able to receive any phone calls. Only text messages will be received.
