Hi all, my first post here, though I've been using these forums for quite a while. I always wondered why Android lacks behind its competitors in the Audio segment. I searched for hours trying to find a good App that would get me some surround sound on my new LG Optimus One and I was surprised to find none. I heard about the Cyanogen MOD with the DSP manager, but then, this phone is just 3 days old and I don't want to void my warranty rooting it or something.
I know these surround effects I've mentioned are possible on android, since the Galaxy 3 with a 667Mhz processor, 256Mb Ram with its TouchWiz UI is able to provide its users with Virtual 5.1 Surround effects in addition to some basic Reverb effects on its Music Player. More over, I noticed that even a basic Nokia 7210 Supernova with just JAVA in it is able to support stereo widening! Why hasn't android got any stereo widening features or apps (atleast) ?
However, I did find some resources for you developers, which may help you in developing some surround effects like that Dolby's or SRS's

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed as of now, hoping that someone will be able to develop an app or something with these Surround sound enhancements. I guess I'm not alone, there are many, many people waiting for these features on Android like me! Let me know if its possible to implement these surround sound feautres on Android..

I was missing srs enhancement on my stock desire z using westone um3x's earbuds ..
I think the sound quality was better on my old windows mobile 6.5 phone using srs wow enhancement.. but the wm6.5 srs enhancer itself was similiar to an equaliser with a lot of user options and NOT the simple on/off toggle "take it or leave it" srs enhancement found in android phones to date.. (see link below)
Nevertheless i thought i'd try android srs so I rooted my phone and flashed virtuous unity 2.37 to test the srs enhancement not available on a stock desire z ..... and whilst it improves the sound the improvement is not significant ....
I have since gone back to stock gingerbread (NO android srs enhancement) and purchased music playerpro from the market; its audio effects use the new audio enhancements built into gingerbread including stereo widening.... (the "virtualiser") ... and imo are superior to the dsp power pack... and now i feel i'm almost back to where i was on the music front using wm6.5 and srs wow enhancement....

PS - I'd gladly pay srslabs for something like the old srs wow application working on android .... also i'm not affiliated to playerpro in any way ....
I've tested many sound enhancers for Xperia L. But most of them can change Xperia L's audio to be louder and extreme sharp. I want the big and crisper sound. I found those kind of audio quality in DOLBY TrueHD. I want it on my Xperia L.
I don't love Acid audio engine as it's not compatible with Xperia L. I want pure installation, not combination with beats audio as it can stuck my phone at boot logo. Dolby effects on Xperia phones will be great.
And I want full control panel for dolby enhancer. If all the dolby products are included, you're xo xo xo thankful.
So can anyone help me?

1st install this with cwm

and it's driver, activate it and disable DSP
manager and enjoy without any issue.. and
sound enhancement of stock will be work

I flashed SONY Walkman as stated. Updated it to latest version using apk file in apps/theme forum at Xperia L. Viper installed as well but SONY Walkman and Viper has no real connect with each other!
MY review about it all :
Sound is sometimes low and sometimes high on its own.
Sound is DISTORTED.
CLEAR AUDIO or any other sony function has no affect.
ROM has started to lag a bit.
NO difference in gain in headset volume.
I would suggest NOT to go through with this unless you have backuped your ROM first with nandroid.
Reflashing CM 11
AND if you miss albums/walkman other sony apps, just install apk but keep in mind the tweaks like clear audio wouldnot work

bro i faced all of issue as you mentioned in post,when i flashed given link walkman and enhancement port...
and i was trying to resolve it... then i install viper4android fx, and it's driver at super quality sound...
and i enable v4a fx and force enable on headset mod...
set parameters in v4a app and disable dsp manager..
then i start walkman and all issues like low audio output,fluctuating of volume level and distorted sound all are solved and working loke stock ...for me is more thn stock...
clear bass also working when it's set at zero it have no bass and if i increasing the bass level also increase means it's working and bass effect is same as stock not like dsp manager...
equalizer and presets all are working ...also surround sound (vpt) working efficiently as works in stock ...
I'm enjoying real sound enhancement of stock sony not only music player in cm11... and i posted if people like to use sound enhancement same as stock... i found it's working for me so i share trick...I'm not developer....

I've been searching a mod for improve the bass ' cause the M2 aqua has a skirl sound. I tried to improve it installing Viper4android but still sounds skirl. Could you recommend me a mod or something?

First of all thank you for your hard work.
I own a phone with MT6753 (4,7", 2GB ram, 16GB flash, dualsim, LTE). I decided to risk and i flashed your rom via CWM( created myself). i was very suprised when your rom succesfully boot up! Android works really nice but i found one problem which i can`t resolve. My problem is a purple screen on Camera :/ All things which should be black are purple. Can you help he fix this problem? I have a backup of my stock rom. I tried replace some libcam* library from /system/lib and /system/lib64 but after then camera are stopped working. Please give me any advise to resolve my problem.
