Hey there
When playing a song I get a white notification block saying:
"Music temporarily unavailable.
Couldn't play the stream you
requested" DONE
Been having this error on/off for a month now. Sometimes it works on wi-fi but not on cell, most of the times not at all.
Right now at home I can play from my other devices (win7-pc, chromecast, Nexus10) without problems.
I can browse music fine on the phone and play moview works fine - so the account is not the problem.
All hits I've had searching gave just different settings to try with caching, dl'ing etc. They are to no avail. Tried all combinations.
I hope anyone can shed some light. Best regards!
Edit: I'm an all-access subscriber.
Having this issue right now on my Nexus 7 2013 - both on WiFi and LTE. Like you, I've tried all the usual tricks - deleting app, wiping cache etc.
I'm going to try CM12.1 now and see if it's going to make any difference.
EDIT: So I installed CM12 and it's working great! Play Music works fine with radio + downloaded music + library.

Yeah - I did a factory reset and it works now. Weird. And a bit of a hassle...
Cache music option off fixes it. Temporary fix though, you loose ur album art. No more error message though. Looking for a permanent fix though.

Hello fellow posters,
I am having a very strange problem that shows its ugly head with Napster and Slacker Radio. The song will play for exactly 12 seconds and then stop. The song will then resume again several seconds later. The rest of the song plays fine from that point forward. I find it strange that it happens on both apps at the same exact time (12 seconds). MOG doesn't seem to have this issue.
I have a 4G signal with at least 3 bars when the issue happens. The problem doesn't occur is streaming from WIFI.
Is anybody else having problems with these apps with their G2X?
Thanks for your time,
Lance
I have the same problem. I was running the gingerbread leak thought it was that. So I'm back on stock same problem.

Napster and Slacker Radio
Does anybody have ideas on how to resolve the issue (song stops playing after seconds almost every time. The song then starts playing again after several seconds).
Is it a phone issue since it happens on both Slacker Radio and Napster? Any setting changes that can be done?
Thanks,
Lance
I haven't tried napster, but for slacker, try version 2.1.191. I loaded it with titanium backup. The last couple versions suck, and apparently not just on our phones/roms. The market comments are BAD. lol...
Not sure how to locate it if you don't have a backup. I'll see about getting the apk somewhere.. It was free on the market, so I can't see how it would be "piracy"...
I have the same problem with Slacker, so it's unusable on my G2x. If this isn't fixed sometime soon, I'll be canceling my paid Slacker account.
slacker updated again today. so far so good streaming over 3g
I had to turn on High quality mode in the settings menu, then the song would cache all the way in 3g. If it's in normal quality, they song doesn't cache all the way and will occasionally skip. Wifi works normally.
I've also disabled the local stream manger in slacker as well. Not sure if that has done anything
I tried again with the latest version and disabling the "local media server" option. Already had high quality enabled.
It actually plays music now. Thanks for the tip. Now if we could get music apps not to stutter when the cpu gets used... Sigh. A dual core should NEVER stutter music when multitasking.
Yes it what the "local Media server" not "local stream manager" . Sorry about that; I didn't have my phone on me.
Glad you're working. Not even sure what that feature does.
i deleted slacker. the damn app wants to run for so many actions. check it out using an app like autostarts. it starts running for a ton of different actions, things that don't even make sense.
winamp is almost as bad,but tolerable.

I disabled Local Media Server too (never noticed that option before), and it seems to be working properly for me too. Thanks everyone!
I have Napster and I have the SAME EXACT problem. The only way I got around it was to download the playlists so it wouldn't skip. It's extremely annoying. I've already informed LG about the issue a month or so ago. Its only on Napster tho. Not Rhapsody or Pandora.

This apparently just showed up with the last update (yesterday or today) and fixed my streaming issues in slacker too (only had time for a quick test though)
Hello! I've been a Google Music All Access subscriber since nearly day 1, and I haven't had any issues with the service until recently. I can't pinpoint a specific time this started, but it was before Lollipop rolled out to my Nexus 5 (problem probably started about a month ago?). GMAA has mood radio stations that you can pick based on the time of day, so for work, bedtime, etc. Often (>50% of the time now) when I try to play one of these radio stations, I get an error that states "Couldn't prepare radio. Please try again." The error persists for specific radio stations; trying other stations makes it work (but the original station still doesn't work). I've attached a screenshot of the error.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? It's REALLY annoying and I'd like to get it fixed! I'll contact Google directly if I have to, but I'd prefer to avoid that.

Did you ever end up finding a solution to this problem. I've been experiencing it for a couple months now. I emailed Google Play app support but have not gotten a response from them even after numerous attempts.
I keep having this issue too and its so annoying...if anyone has a fix please share.

Found a solution that worked for me I grabbed the old APK from APK mirror and installed that version instead ( grab oct 21 2014 release) install this version and play a few of the contextual radios they all seemed to work on that version. After playing the ones that weren't working I installed the newest version again and they continued to work.
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-music/google-play-music-5-7-1717q-1530520-apk/ this is the version that I used to get it working again.
Here's what worked for me... I completely uninstalled the app. It was installed by default as a system app. Then installed again through the Google Play store. Haven't had any issues so far ??

Thanks for this. I started getting the same error so I followed your instructions. I'm not rooted so I couldn't completely remove the app. But I uninstalled as much as i could and cleared everything I could and the radio stations are working again.
Hey guys
I know I'm late to the party but I found a fix to this issue and I wanted to see if it works for other people. I did this on a galaxy S7 running Android 7.0 and running the latest version of Google play music. Here's what I did:
1. Tap the 3 dot menu on the playlist in question and select "create new playlist"
2. Name the playlist something different from the original
3. Remove one song from the playlist (I don't think it matters which but I removed the first song)
4. Put the song back in the playlist.
5. Check to see if the radio function works for the new playlist
6. Delete the old playlist and rename the new on to what the old playlist was called.
7. Now you should have a playlist that is identical to the original and the radio function should work for it.
Hope this helps.
I have this weird problem with Pandora over LTE. It won't load songs and play unless I toggle airplane mode on and off. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. I never use to have this problem and I can't figure out why its doing this. No other music streaming apps have problems (play music and SoundCloud). I have to toggle airplane mode after every song. Its really annoying. My N5 is completely Stock and I am on Straight Talk

I am on Android 5.0.1. I have even factory reset my phone and I still have the same issue. I can't figure it out at all. Pandora works fine over WiFi, but not LTE or 3G. All other music streaming apps I have work just fine. If I start Pandora and let it try to play a song. It will start then have really buffer issues. while it is buffering if I put airplane mode on then off the song will play just fine over LTE, but once a new song starts I have to do the same thing with airplane mode. I would ditch Pandora all together and just use Play Music or SoundCloud, but both of those apps use so much data. ( I listen to about an hour of music a day) I have Play Music setting set to the low quality, but from what I have read online it will stream the best quality your connection will allow. I have great connection everywhere I go in my home town.

Slacker? I would try to file a bug report with Pandora. It may not be up to date with Lollipop.

Pandora claims they have no issue with 5.0 or 5.0.1, but I can not use the app. I really only started to have this problem when I updated to 5.0.1. May flash back to 5.0 to see if that fixes the problem.
Here's an interesting side note. If I turn on the hotspot feature on my N5 and connect my N7 to it and play Pandora on my N7 everything works fine. I'm going crazy trying to figure this out.

jdawg0024 are you on Straight Talk for service? I am running KitKat (4.4.4) on my Nexus 5 through Straight Talk and I am having the exact same issue. I have tried everything as well and cannot figure this out. Songs take a long time to load or will not load at all. Once they do they will skip like as if being buffered. Works fine over wifi connection and all other streaming services work fine as well.
Up until today I did not know about toggling airplane mode but that will make the songs play. I would love to get this figured out..........
Pandora streams fine for me on T-Mobile lte with xtrasmooth 5.0.2 ROM. Also had worked on kk4.4.4.

Good to know but I dont think I will be trying a whole ROM just to fix something that should (and used to) be working with the stock 4.4.4

Pandora worked for me when I was on 4.4.4 and still no issues on stock 5.0.1.

Yes I am on Straight Talk. I have called them, but they say they aren't blocking any services. Pandora has since emailed me and said that they are aware of the issue, but do not have an ETA on a fix

Although I have a feeling that it is Straight Talk's issue. I know 3 People who have the N5 and they are all on 5.0.1 and each on a different Network (Verizon, Sprint, and ATT) all of their Pandora Apps are working correctly.

I have also spoken with Straight Talk and specifically asked if my service was being throttled and they said that it was not. I am tempted to try a reset and upgrade to Lollipop but would much rather have it working as is.

I can tell you that a factory reset will not help. I thought it was 5.0.1 that was causing the issue so I flashed the 5.0 factory Image and that did not fix the problem. Then I flashed the 5.0.1 factory image and that did also not fix the problem.
Clearing the Pandora cache worked for me.
This issue only started for me about a month ago and has gotten progressively worse.
Every time I open Google apps that could be used to stream music (play music, YouTube), I get a message saying that Bluetooth has stopped.
It happens whether I'm actually connected to a Bluetooth device or not and I can't find a way to prevent it. It never used to happen while using power amp either.
Is there anything that can be done?
Edit: It happens any time I play music now
Edit 2: The problem seems to be related to an update of the play music app. I uninstalled the update and only have the base version of the app now and everything is working fine.
Try going into apps in sttings if ure rooted use a diffrent app manager and clear the cache and data on bluetooth
So i recently got a new phone, and while AA worked perfectly great with my Galaxy S7E, it seems to have a few issues with my Huawei Mate 9 (purchased from Best Buy's website, unlocked US version i assume). It seems its a UI issue Huawei has a problem with across multiple devices as to why phone calls don't show on the AA screen, so i guess there isn't a whole lot i can do about that one, but Google Play Music about 3/4 of the time says the song is playing but i don't hear anything even though the volume is up. Is press my steering wheel controls to move it to the next song, and i have to keep going until i find a song that'll play. I thought maybe it was a cached music issue so i cleared the google play music cache, but nope. Reset AA, reset my headunit, uninstalled AA and reinstalled, pretty much most troubleshooting steps. Thought i managed to fix it last night, but nope. The issue came back this morning. Everything else seems to work fine in AA but that. I stream all my music thru my own library thru google play music so its kind of an important app for me, so its frustrating that this is happening. Everything works fine if i just play music over bluetooth, but doing it thru AA causes this issue and im not sure why. Any ideas? Thanks.
