OMG...
Started download around noon, still says five hours to go.
Anybody got a mirror yet?

The download is for OCF. Is that newer than OC9?

Yes.
Samsung does there version numbers by Year, Month and Revision.
"O" = 2015
"C" = March (A would = January, B February, etc.)
"F" = Revision. They go 1 thru 9 then start with letters.
So OC9 would be several revisions before OCF.
And I'm now at 68% downloaded, only 3 hours to go !!!

Man just a bunch of malware comes to my phone and I can't download either file so I'll just have to be patient

I don't have a mirror to use, but I could give someone with a mirror a link to my dropbox so they could download it.
I can post the recovery, no problem. Download won't be done until I in bed tonight though... lol

Here is just the recovery...

someone please mirror...
this download time is crazy.
Also, If anyone has flashed this...
Let us know if you notice anything different. Battery life, Smoothness, Functionality, Etc.

Sorry about the malware and download time. I've scoured the Internet for our phone's firmware since I received it opening day, and this has been the only link that I could find. Thank you to those who can mirror it.

Once I download the firmware, I will upload to Mega and share(Probably tomorrow).

I flashed this and have not noticed any difference, positive or negative. However I have not performed a factory reset since flashing yet.
My upload speed sucks but will also try to get a mirror up later today if nobody else posts one first.

Here is a mirror.

Will this fix the cell signal issue I've been having, driving me crazy with all the dropped calls, also how would I flash this with no root??

I've requested access. Thank you.

Me too. Thanks

Just made it available to anyone with the link.
Sorry about making it private. I forgot to change the settings earlier.

Does this fix the rotation problem?

Can someone write up a brief instructional on how to do this? I haven't been on Samsung in forever and am rusty. It would be much appreciated.

Download the zip. Unzip it. Download Odin 3.07. Run it. Put your phone into Download Mode. Plug the usb into the computer. Press the PDA button. Find the file you unzipped. Press start. Wait for it to do its thing. Odin will say Pass.

Normally with Odin i think you do need a pit file.
But (and i havent actually tested this out yet) with this EXE i believe its an all-in-one file that will restore you to stock

[Odin]Stock EH17 Odexed with CWM 3.1.0.1/Root/Busybox 1.19

First of all thanks to samfirmware. Odin this to get odexed stock EH17 with the purple CWM 3.1.0.1, latest root and su binary and Busybox 1.19.
Removed Asphalt Demo to make space for Busybox. Attached if you really want it.
Odin tar:
MD5: 417acf5bc49568fc3ca5505d04e9eed8
http://dev-host.org/gf9qor3y1btg/Odexed-Rooted-CWM-Busybox-EH17.tar

MD5: 7f574b567aa420e36c127d27e180a3f9
http://www.multiupload.com/W4AOLDRP52
IMPORTANT: Make sure you have installed the proper XP or Win7 drivers before starting. Also, remove the SD card from the phone (this may not be necessary, but having the SD card installed has caused Odin to fail for a number of people, so might as well just do it).
1. Extract the contents of the zip file to a folder
2. Open odin
3. Put your phone in download mode (Shut it off, wait for lights to all go out, then hold 1 on the keyboard while powering up)
4. connect phone (you should see odin put a Com4 or something like that in the first box. The actual number is NOT important what is important is something popped up there when you connected your device, meaning ODIN can see it)
5. The only box that should be checked is Auto Reboot.
6. You do not need to choose a pit file.
7. In the PDA Section choose the tar file. (Should be the sph-d700-****-8Gb-REL.tar)
8. Hit start. It will do its thing.
9. If it fails than try a new cable.
10. If the phone hangs for any reason take the battery and sdcard out and let it sit for an hour. Put it back together and try again.
Awesome thanks .. Cant wait

Thanks, do you have a way to monitor download numbers? If so I am sure samfirmware would be interested to know just how many Epic users use their leaks...hence why they requested no mirrors for the files they posted to get a count. I know if i had not flashed yet and I had an option I would flash your awesome AIO tar... Thanks for all your work!

No problem I might port it over depending on how the rumors go for an official update.
I look forward to a deodexed version with AIO as well once that gets around. I feel like EH18 will be the official since they never leak the official. But this will hopefully stop the memory leaks and random reboots.

I recommend just making an account. It's free and I'm guessing you won't go past 20 GB.
If you don't register, then you only get 1 GB.
Only cost $5.00 on PayPal for a donate version for a year which gives you a few more benefits.
Thanks for this!

I have no idea why this Epic is randomly rebooting. But it's really inconvenient.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/266817/ocs.android.72727.log
that was what popped up on the sdcard. I can't figure out how to read it. I am assuming that's the file the phone is creating when it reboots **RANDOMLY** several times a day.
if you can't read that, tell me how I can get the log that the phone SHOULD be creating when it reboots randomly... or a way to figure out why it's going this.
So this is still leak right? Not an official release yet?

Thanks ZaYAC-ua. I finally got the flash tool working after a while, but unfortunately the recovery files don't seem to work properly for my phone. Ah, well then I am very grateful that you kept a copy of that rom, as the dropbox links from geekbuying have been deactivated. Your copy got me out of a real bind when I bricked my phone. Sorry that I made mention of your personal server on an open forum. I hope I haven't caused you any problems due to the extra bandwidth. PM me if you want me to pull the above posts so you don't get any more traffic.
I am glad it helped someone. No need to worry about bandwidth as i have plenty of it.
Last week Cubot published a new ROM in their Dropbox. Just go to www.cubot.net -> service and download the file for A6589/M6589 for the download location.
Quite stable and fast. I did use SP_Flash_Tool though instead of the attached flash tool. The ROM is using the Touchwiz launcher, hopefully they will update this in a future release.

Hi,
I'm having this same problem with my CUBOT M6589 (brand new). The phone boots ok, and after some minutes the screen becomes pink and reboots. May you post how you have solved this?
I've already applied the latest "new firmware" that's on cubot's website.

[SYSTEM] De-Odex Framework / System [No-Wipe]

Currently designed for the Wifi version only. Alternates available upon request.
This package includes the de-odexed system and framework folder based on a wifi model.
This is NOT a full install, so do NOT wipe before using.
This package is designed to be used with the custom recovery image. This will NOT work with Odin.
This will delete the current system and framework folders and flash the new ones in their place. This is only a temporary solution until a full rooted install is established.

My Verizon GC120 should be here in a couple of days. As far as I know it is untouched stock. Let me know the commands to pull the files you need for this and the other dev work you are doing.
Thank you for taking the time to do the work! We all appreciate it!
Finally received a GC120 camera I can do something with. Attached are the .img files pulled. About says my phone is on 4.1.2 (LK3) but I keep getting an install update request although the folder titled as the update in /cache is empty (so there's nothing I can pull from that).
I also pulled the modem.bin but it says invalid file when I try to upload.
*These are the files for LK3
Camera updated to LL2. Updated files attached.
MC4 files attached
So maybe I screwed myself updating all the way to MK4 update. Can't root using framaroot now like I did with all the others. Gonna try a few other options.
Can someone please tell me the adb command to find whether a bootloader is locked or not? I have tried several I've found online and don't receive anything conclusive. Thanks.
Be back in a week or so. Final project is in the beta test stage so I am swamped until it reaches the release candidate.

I dug through everything I have but no efs.img and if I remember right, you'd need one with your IMEI. Best bet is probably a factory reset.
Didn't help... tried factory reset with stock recovery and cwm recovery... nothing helps... i don't know a way to get it fixed... will keep looking...
Finally got it fixed. As GC100 is similar to S3, downloaded efs file for S3 flashed it via odin through bootloader and voila... attaching the file for reference if anyone else gets into trouble!

Downgrade back to Lollipop 5.1.1 on Verizon

I can confirm that the method I'm posting will allow you to go back to Lollipop from Marshmallow 6 with pictures included..
Number 1) If you wish to save the stuff you have then do a backup using Samsung Kies or Smart-Switch because everything will be deleted!
Number 2) Open settings and go to about phone then tap 7 times on the Build number until you see developer mode activated. .
Number 3) Go back to the settings and look for Developer Options and tap it..
Number 4) Look for OEM unlock.. This step is important and needs to be done!!
Number 5) Make sure USB Debugging is on also and in security settings allow unknown sources to be installed.. Also make sure you have no accounts on the phone before starting this delete all of them especially Google accounts! If you don't do this you can be locked out for 72 hours! Delete any fingerprints and lock screen pins also!!
Number 6) On a Windows desktop download Odin 3.10.7 and download firmware number N920VVRU2AOJ3 from Sammobile onto your windows desktop.
Number 7) Shut the phone off and then put it into download mode by holding the volume down button and the home button and power button at the same time and then press the volume up button to continue and at this point Odin should be open on your Windows computer, connect the phone and when you see it says added on Odin you're ready! Go into options and uncheck reboot you MUST DO THIS! Then go back and tap AP and select the firmware N920VVRU2AOJ3 that you downloaded and after it verifies then tap start and let it finish. When Odin finally says PASS and you see successful 1/ failed 0 then disconnect the phone and immediately press and hold the volume down button and power button at the same time and when the screen comes back on select factory reset and after its finished the phone will reboot on it's own and you're done and booting back to Lollipop!
If you don't follow these steps correctly you're liable to get stuck or something else and your phone is not my responsibility if you do something wrong and it doesn't work it's because you made the conscious decision to do it likely you'll have no problem with this if you follow directions!!!
P.S Do not tick on repartition the only thing you should be doing in Odin is unchecking reboot.
Odin 3.10.7
I know I listed sammobile as a place to download the firmware but they're slow as all hell and samfirm is no where near any better especially when you are downloading and have been waiting for almost 3 hours just for it to drop it at the last 20 minutes forcing you to start over and I was just informed of this and didn't know about it so download from here instead because it will take less than 15 minutes if you have at least high speed Internet...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...mware-firmware-kernel-modem-recovery-t3214560
Thanks to @hsbadr for the links! Make sure you thank him too!
WARNING: Once you accept the update of N920VVRS3BPI1 or any updates after this you can NO LONGER DOWNGRADE and trying to will not work it will fail to flash with odin.

Since I've gone backwards my battery life is much much better than it was on MM 6 and even my wireless fast charger is working better!
I'll ask one of the moderators to move it.
If this works, could we tweek the files (put the root files in) then flash?
I actually had to switch toolchains in order to work on the newer kernels.

Already trying to do that! Problem is after re-zipping the files, Odin knows and fails and besides I can't just inject them into it I'm building another kernel from the source code because the stock kernel doesn't allow for root and I had some trouble with my toolchain since upgrading my Ubuntu Linux Server. But I am trying though. I've already verified that it's possible to downgrade even though Verizon swore it was impossible! Like I said, if there's a will, there's a way!!

Should "Re-Partition" be ticked or not in Odin? I am about to do this as I was getting much better battery life on Lollipop. About 8-10 minutes per 1% battery drop while web browsing vs. about 5-6 minutes max on MM.

I am getting even worse battery life when browsing internet, I can literally see the percentage go down 1% every 3 minutes. That is insane. MM is the worst update I have received from Samsung ever. I will try this method for my international phone since I have been browsing forums to find solution and put together guide for others to go back to Lollipop. Thank you original poster for leading me here from international forum.

If you follow my directions then It's possible to downgrade so long as you have the correct version for your phone.
I went ahead and tried to see if it's possible to use the other variants of the Samsung VZW firmware to downgrade and it's possible.
So we finally have a chance to get off marshmallow and go back to Lolipop? Interesting, I might have to give this a chance. But Earlier versions of lollipop wont work? Can you confirm that OGJ and OJ2 work or just OJ3?

They all worked when I tried them. If you look at the picture above you'll see the version I downgraded to which was the OGJ and on the very first post I made it was OJ3. I use OJ3 because it seems to have the best battery life! As long as you follow the instructions you'll be fine.
I also included the knox picture so people can see that it doesn't trip it like some are worried about.

Thank you kindly, I'm sure I'm not the only one who's not liking it on marshmallow. I might try it this weekend and get back to you

You're welcome!
Yeah I don't like MM 6 it's basically just a huge battery drain if you asked me.

Oh yeah MOS DEF. I didn't see a performance increase in battery life at all.
