[Q] Xperia L lockscreen bypass? - Sony Xperia L

OK, I know this sounds shady, but my phone broke and I had to borrow a friends old phone until I can afford to get it repaired. Down side is, there's a pattern lock in place which he can't remember. It may have been set by his younger sister, who also does not remember it. So OK, put in the passcode wrong 5 times and just log in to the google account, right? Nah, nothing in life is that simple. They can't remember which account was used to link to the phone, or if it was an old account that they won't even know the name of.
Phone is not rooted, not even got USB debugging on so can't root it to bypass, tried resetting in Sony PC Companion to help but in Windows 10 Technical Preview the program needs a hotfix which can't be installed due to it being for the wrong version of Windows, and in a virtual machine of XP the system BSOD's nearly halfway through the process. Honestly struggling and need help here, all of your help is much appreciated <3

[Q] Repair system files on Windows Phone?

I wondered if anyone knows of a way to 'repair' the system files on a fully locked Windows Phone without wiping the phone?
I've got a problem on my phone, which I've posted in various places but had no help with yet.
I'm on a Lumia 620 these days. It's a troublesome little thing, but I suppose it is new and teething so I'm sticking with it.
Thanks loads for any help!
My dear friend...
If you need to repair the system files it's because you have an unlocked one and started to play with some files or an update failed.
but since the phone is "fully locked", full flashing is the solution...
My advice, get rid of the official ROM and install any custom that can work with WP Backup, that way you'll have a backup to restore apps and its respective data to the phone, if you do a hard reset or change the ROM you can set your phone the way it was before the change.
WP Backup only work with customs...
Any help about the use PM me.
Remember, goodbye official ROM, HELLO CUSTOM...:good:

It's brand new, unmodified, and never been updated. It may surprise you to learn that files can be corrupted because of file system errors.
And also that you can't unlock Nokia WPs or WP8s.
And that resetting is quicker and easier than re-flashing.
And that I asked about repairing the system files without having to do either. Obviously I know I can reset since I mentioned it in my post.
So well done. A really outstanding reply. So good that I didn't finish reading it. I'll skip the PM thanks.

your on a Windows phone 8 phone and that isn't unlocked/hacked in any way.
sorry to say this to you but there is no way for you to mod/fix System files on a unhacked phone
this means that you Need to do a Hard reset or Flash a new stock Rom (when possible)
So Mr. "PERFECT"...
You ask, and then you insult...
Why don't you sell that phone and get an android, since you are whining about WP, also the post is another idiotic misplaced post, since you have WP8, you have a serious sight problem: "Windows Phone 7 General" <-- This rings any bell for you?
you're asking about WP8 on WP7, you are incredibly "perfect"
I don't really care if you don't like my answers or if it helps you or not at all; next time don't even ask, since you already know the answer and you like to ask only to bash anyone who tries to give you help.

LG Stylo 2(K540)- At this point I'm begging for help!

I'm new to the XDA Forums and even forums in general so if I speak out of place or anything like that I apologize ahead of time. So anyway, where do I start? I'll try to give you the short version. So I bought an LG Stylo 2(model: LG K540) through Cricket the day they came out. It was $170 phone. On the second day of using my new phone I got the bright idea that I'd try and root it BY MYSELF. I knew better but for some reason I had this false burst of confidence & thought I had everything under control. Well, thanks to Kingroot that burst of confidence didn't last long and there I was with a 2 day old phone BRICKED. Reason I never posted on the forums is because I've got a buddy who , in my eyes, knows everything there is to know about Android and thats who I'd normally go to when I wanted to root a phone so he's who I immediately turned to but even he couldn't figure it out. He couldn't help me unless we had the stock firmware or someone with the exact same phone and according to him we could some how use a backup of that phone to fix mine. Cricket just wanted to sell me another phone even though I was standing there with a 2 day old phone and LG just wants me to send the phone in to them, which I have no desire to do. I've searched all over the internet trying to locate the firmware because even I can fix the phone if I had that but nothing. Had hoped by now LG would have released the firmware but at this point who knows when that'll happen. I'd even pay for it at this point. Anyway, just thought I'd give the forum a shot on the off chance someone might be able to help me or point me in the right direction. Oh and if you were wondering what the phone does now, when I turn it on the LG logo appears like it should but then right as it appears you see a message in red lettering that says: BOOT VERIFICATION FAIL!!- CAUSE: MISMATCH_SIG_LEN And it just loops this over & over until you pull the battery out. Please someone help me!
send to lg said stop working no luck with tihs hard brick
Source code to rom¿?
I ran into basically the same situation as you. I'm currently downloading Android open source project on to a fresh install Ubuntu 16.04. I am currently in the middle of running sync.
I'm curious if there is anybody out there who would be willing to give a few pointers, on compiling the ROM from LG open source code. They told me I had to use it in the readme.txt.
Im a noob with fair knowledge of modding and stylo not stylo 2. There's no way to say for sure if this will work but on lg mm on h631 u need to unlock dev option in settings 1st. Make sure to check off oem unlock and usb debugging. Connect to pc and you will get a popup or 2, one will ask to allow pc to connect to phone, the second is to allow usb debugging. After you allow both, open cmd in your adb fastboot folder. Type " adb reboot bootloader." should reboot the phone to bootloader/fastboot mode. Then you type " fastboot oem unlock." you will see sending.. Once sending is done type " fastboot reboot." when the phone restart you should see bootloader unlocked on splash screen. Then i rooted with kingroot. Then use rashr to flash twrp. Then used twrp to flash supersu to get rid of kingroot.. My h631 now in business and i just started working on a port for lg ux 5.0. This is the guild i use for a better idea http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g-stylo/how-to/guide-lg-g-stylo-how-to-root-t-mobile-6-t3333916. You might need lgflashtool and kdz to unbrick..
NO NEED to beg.
I don't know very much but I know $$$ talks and since no one save the few who suggested contacting lg wants to help, Ill try. At the moment I am efforting a solution via the Chinese. I expect to have a working copy in the next 48hrs. when I do, we can arrange for you to get access to the mega.nz cloud and get urs.
say a prayer......

BIN File
Hello, I have a Stylo 2 K540 from cricket, it is having issues with the Wi-Fi, it will not connect to either Wi-Fi or bluetooth, MAC address was set at 02:00:00:00:00 or something like that, I opened the phone and it has humidity sensor active, cleaned the affected area but it seems like it was useless, eventhough I was pretty sure that was not the main problem. I looked for some troubleshooting options and found non of use, firmware is sold for $30 online so it is not an option since I am not certain loading firmware will be of any help. I tried repairing MAC address via Octoplus using other addresses but was useless as well.
I have little to no experience with software on phones, but I like to read and learn. I decided to connect the phone to the computer and "Read full flash" on Octopus, I have created the Bin file, I have a perfectly working phone as well, I was wondering if there is any way to get the KDZ file from the Bin file doing some sort of conversion, or if I could do some sort of fix or workaround with this bin file, I can share it if anybody needs it or if it can be of any use to get the firmware

Phone Locked with Pattern... Forgot the Pattern.

Hello!
Well, I changed my pattern today. It was so complicated that I ended up forgetting how it was.
So, the thing is, I looked everywhere, but I couldn't find a solution to this. I am very upset because itlooks like doing a Hard Reset is more complicated than it should. Samsung phones you just need to press some keys and that's it. You have your recovery mode all set and ready to factory reset. But Sony? Of course not. I couldn't find any simple solution. I saw stuff like, unlocking the bootloader, this and that, but guess what? I don't have the USB Debbugging ON. All the tutorials I read said that I should have. And I'm not that expert on Android stuff either.
I'm sorry for dragging this too much, but this is such a nuisance. It shouldn't be this hard to factory reset my phone.
I hope someone out there can help me. I just want to reset my phone. I don't want special roms or anything. Just my phone bacon.
I'm sorry for my English.
Thank you for your time!
Edit: Forgot to tell which version my phone is.
Sony Xperia Z5 Dual (E6683)
Marshmallow (fully updated)
You can use flashtool/xperifirm to download and flash a new firmware (remember to wipe userdata and all other partitions)
Once this is done your phone should act as if new
Sent from my E6653 using XDA-Developers mobile app
or u can use sony companion to repair ur device .
it will reset ur phone
I m sorry but you mentioned it like what Sony is doing wrong or either worse than what Samsung's solution is.
What if you are thief and trying to open up a phone that you have stolen.
What if you are a psycho who are trying to force control your little girl/wife's life by spying on her phone
Or maybe it is your phone that got stolen, would you want it to be accessed that easy by anyone?
It is good that, a secured phone stays secured irreversibly nowadays..
Can't you recover it by using your Google account login?

You can enter fastboot and clear cache and userdata... If You wasn't fix problem, please be free to let Us know if problem is there. Cheers
just recover it with google account simple as that, to do so just spam wrong pattern for 5-6 times and it will show you how to recover it.
The Fastboot didn't work. The phone is not rooted or have any recovery.
What I did to fix my problem was Flashing it with a software called XperFirm. It just installed a new firmware and that's it! Thanks!

Hey,i need some help with a samsung phone

Hi to all of you.I got given an old samsung galaxy s4 mini(GT-I9192)and the person who gave it said it was broken if you can fix it you can keep/sell it.I tried opening it but it didnt respond to any keys even when i tried download/recovery/power on.As i researched online it seems to me that the device has been hardbricked. The guy who gave it to me said he had sent it to a store to repair and said that his cpu was not functioning anymore for both of his s4 minis which doesnt seem to happen just for the 2 phones that 1 person buys and because i live in Albania services arents so great. When i tried to install a custom rom from odin(latest to this date)it wouldnt recognise it but when i plugged the phone in windows made tge sound that something was plugged in and then shortly after it made the disconnecting sound whoch gives me a reason to think that the device may still be alive.I came here since this is the most know site for tech stuff.I havent seen any kind of bricking before but i read tgat the soft bricked devices just need a clean install and to wipe cache and dalvik which gives it the look when it was bought.Ive seen that you can pay for jtag or try a usb jig but i dont want to spend any money since i have a better phone (galaxy j5 2017) and i just wanted to see if i could use it to experiment with roms root and stuff on there.
Any help will be appriciated and if i have any mistakes in my languagee im sorry because as i said im from Albania and not USA/UK

Download and install the full set of USB drivers for Samsung phones. This might be part of your connection/disconnection issue.
https://developer.samsung.com/galaxy/others/android-usb-driver-for-windows
On your Windows system, go to Control Panel>Device Manager, then connect your device, when you connect it, watch the Device Manager window, if your device connects, it should have something appear on your list of devices. Try to see what the list shows when the device connects, even if it still just a momentary connection, then come back here and post what it says. This will give me a better idea of what is going on with the device.
If what your friend told you about the CPU's being bad is true, you won't be able to fix the device(s) unless you replace the motherboard(s).
Some Samsung devices with locked bootloaders also have a hardware component called a Q-fuse, if someone attempts to flash a custom recovery or anything else custom on the device, it trips Q-fuse which then "burns" the fuse, rendering the device inoperably hardbricked. This is probably what was attempted on the devices you have. If this is what happened, you won't be able to fix it, not even Samsung themselves can fix this, all they can do is salvage the device to reclaim any possible usable hardware components.

Thanks for the reply.First things to start,my friend doesnt mess up with loading custom roms as he doesnt have much knowledge on technology.Next, when i connected the device the first time it showed me the name QSHUSB_DLOAD(or smth like that because i am not avaible to use the computer right now).I tried installing some drivers and i will edit the name that i got when i use the computer in a matter of a hour or two.

Everything you're describing is exactly the results one gets when someone tries to flash something custom via Odin, or when trying to update the device via Odin but the wrong firmware is flashed.
Generally, the only to fix this is to send the device to a professional shop to have a JTAG service performed on the device(s) or replace the motherboard.
From what you describe, I believe the devices are permanently hardbricked, the only solution then is to replace the motherboard. Other than that, you're wasting your time.

Well feom what i know he doesnt know anything about odin or flashing a new rom since he doesnt even know what a rom is.Then again he hasnt done a factory reset since he doesnt know how.And he has even said that hasnt done anything else than getting it out of the box putting a sim card and just using it.If there is anything we can try to bring it to life by trying to flash a new custom rom or the original rom from an sd card or a usb flash drive(since i have the converter from charging port to usb).Anyways i was just trying to see if i could bring it to life and idk maybe give it to someone else or sell it.
Thanks for your help for the tips you have given me amd for the help that you may give in advance

If you can find a "debrick.img" or "unbrick.img",(sometimes, these files are debrick.bin or unbrick.bin), there is a method that involves burning the .img or .bin file on an sdcard to create a type of "bootable disk" to restore the device. The only way to get a copy of this file is from a rooted device with the same model number as yours, try to find one that someone has already creates and made available or try finding someone in this forum that has a device like yours with the same model number and then have them pull a copy of debrick.img from their device and upload it for you to download and use for your device.
Here is a thread for doing this on a galaxy S3, if you can find the specific debrick file for your exact model number, you can try this method. Use the method and the tools as described in the thread, you just need to make sure that any device specific files used in the method are those files for your specific model number.

Use an sdcard, the thread that I linked has instructions for returning the sdcard to normal usage after you're done getting the device restored. No, you can not use a debrick.img or any other file from a device with a different model number, it has to be for YOUR SPECIFIC MODEL NUMBER I have told you that in every one of my replies here, that is a MUST, it is not "optional".
Stop looking for shortcuts, I know it isn't easy to find what you need but there are no substitutes, do it the right way or don't do it at all.

[DISCUSSION] Bypassing Authorization of MSM Download tool of Realme/Oppo

Hello everyone!
So today something that could potentially let users flash/unbrick their phones using the current MSM Download tool came to my mind.
I'm also very sorry if this is the wrong place for this, i'm new to xda.
So as you might know for Realme phones there are people who have authorized account out there and once you pay them they will connect to yoprur computer and then start flashing ocess, online with no verification. I even tried getting my phone flashed but due to them not flashing twice if one package doesn't work my device was bricked (I have A.xx variant and i tried getting B.xx flashed) and i had to send to service center to wait for unbricking process which took over a month, yes you heard it right! They couldn't even repair it with software flashing so they had to replace the whole motherboard.... At least i'm grateful i didn't have to pay for motherboard replacement and it was considered in-warranty.
So yes, again let's go back to our topic and my idea.
What came to my mind is, what happens if i create a virtual machine using VMWare, get an authorized account to login to the application then cut connection of that TeamViewer connection and immediately "Save current state of VM" after someone logs in. Would that account be still logged in? This VM can also be shared with it's own folder as far as I know too! Is there a verification after you login to the app? As far as i know there's only a verification while you login to the app and there isn't anything afterwards which i think is also illogical to do so.
I know and i'm aware Realme can patch this possible "vulnerability" overnight because on the server side, literally everything depends on them (I really hope they don't) but thanks to their habit of not caring about development, releasing broken kernel sources and not even providing official bootloader unlock (even after nearly a year in my case) has come to a point where it's irresistably annoying for me so i decided to think of possible ways to maybe bypass the verification part of the application so that they can flash a firmware as their liking.
It's Android! It had to be free! It had to be allowed to do these type of stuffs to your Android phone! Why? Why? Why Realme?!

I flashed the stock recovery n stock rom on a RMX1993 Realme X2 that I had rooted already with TWRP.
Everything was fine, till I got the great idea on relocking the bootloader.
As soon as I put the command the device reboot and showed that message with chinese letters n "recovery/boot has been destroyed" etc.
Got no fastboot either, only com port EDL mode works. The next and main problem is I am not authorized to flash roms due to that user/pw in msm tool. I just found this out after bricking the device. Why the hell did I lock the bootloader....
I heard there are websites that offer user/password for msm tool flashing n you need to buy credits for it. I'm not gonna bother nor paying for something that I own and should have the right to fix by myself. Amaz0n will take care from it this time, they'll probably refund.
Tip: Do not relock bootloaders,
and a better one: do not buy realme devices.
