Sony Smartband SWR10 and Spotify - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Today i bought Sony Smartband SWR10. I read lot's of articles about this smartband and everyone confirm that this defive is working properly with Spotify. I paired it with my N5 and everything seems working except Spotify. When i'm trying to tap once on smartband it loads default player wchich is Power Amp, not Spotify. I tryied delete power amp but then nothing happened.
Has anyone of you got this smartband working with Sporify?

[Q] Bluetooth reconnecting every 10 minutes

Hi all,
Been reasonably happy with the z3 so far but I'm having problems with Bluetooth connectivity, specifically in my car. I'm used to an iphone, which works flawlessly, but the z3 only seems to be able retain a connection for 10 mins before slowly reconnecting. It's become frustrating as it restarts some of my tasker profiles(?).
Has anyone else had similar issues? Are there any known fixes for this?
I've tried turning off stamina, wifi, bluetooth timeout, display timeout, re-pairing my device - nothing has helped!
Cheers,
Russ

The normal Stamina mode (not ultra) won't disconnect any connection just limit background process.
This can be bug in firmware So try to repair it by PC companion
+ and a question; is this happen with another bluetooth devices or just with car?
cause if it happen with car it can be software compatibility & ...
Thanks for the reply. I thought I would update.
I did try checking for firmware updates but I found a different solution shortly after. I downloaded the 'Xperia Z1 Bluetooth Fix' from the google play store, installed it and selected the Tune2Air device (when it was in range). Since then I've had no reconnecting problems! I have no idea what the app has done but it has completely solved the issues I was having. I suggest giving it a go if you are having similar symptoms. :good:

I get this all the time, constant every couple of seconds when connected to my Mercedes Comand unit..
I will download this app and test it out, hopefully it sorts it.
I have Volvo V40 and when I step in my car with my bluetooth on, I see on my Z3 Bluetooth connect and then disconnect. This repeats all the time. When I then disable bluetooth and enable, the problem is gone. I don't know for sure, but what I have see on my car's phone menu, although I get these disconnects on my phone , the disconnects are not noticed by my car. But again, I didn't look into that yet. Do you have similar problems?
Hi all,
Great to know im not crazy bcuz im having the same issues in my toyota as the volvo. My phone automatically tries to pair & sometimes this works flawlessly, yet other times it connects, stalls, then spends an age tring to reconnect & all the while the cars head unit still perceives a connection. What i hav noticed is that i get great connections (fast & from where i left off) when i pause before switching off my car. If i dont pause then i need to manually connect even if the phone says its pairing with my car. Iv come from a nokia n8 which worked flawlessly however i could not control the volume from the phone which i can do from the z3 & i was wondering if the problem could be with either the phone or stereo having conflicting memory of what was last played, volume level , etc. As there must be data stored somewhere on either or both devices.
Look at this page for an explanation of Sony, seems to be a problem from the bluetooth version of the car:
https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xper...s-connecting-disconnecting/td-p/853609/page/2
I dont think its necessarily the car as the problem i outlined is resolved if i pause the playing music before cutting power. I should correct an earlier comment. My problem is with playing music from my phones harddrive via a player such as the native music player, vlc music player, music visualiser, etc rather than streaming music so im not sure what peolpe using cloud services or internet radio can do.
Does anyone know why pausing the music before leaving the car is necessary when in my experience using bluetooth 3.0 didnt require this?

[Q] Compatibility with Razer hammerhead pro?

Hi, recently I bought an in-ear headset from Razer: Hammerhead pro. It's specification said that it is compatible with any android devices. Therefore when I plugged it into my Xperia M2, everything worked fine except the answer call button ( from the headset): such button didn't response to any interaction ( play/pause music or pick up/hang up incoming phone calls). I installed SmartKey app to have a re-check but the problem is still there. I tried to plug the headset to another smart phones from other branches and it still works normally.
I wonder if this problem came from my M2 or not? Please help!

[Q] Can't skip/replay tracks from car stereo over bluetooth

Hey all, Just recently replaced my Galaxy S3 with the Z3. I love it so far except for one annoyance. The phone connects to the stock radio in my car over bluetooth (2010 Mazda3) and plays, except I can't skip or replay tracks as I want from the car stereo head unit. It will just play the songs from my library on the phone. I can however do it from the phone itself. The only control I have from the head/steering controls is volume. My old Galaxy S2 & S3 worked flawlessly in this respect, why am I having trouble with a brand new phone in 2015? Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks.

Very strange I use it daily with my aftermarket JVC car stereo and no problems: I can skip tracks from the radio.
Funny thing, discovered the same thing recently with my 2010 Toyota Auris. From what I've found this seems to happen whenever the car initiates music playback and not the Z3 itself. What helps is pressing pause and then play right in the Walkman app. After that the back and forward keys work just fine.
Another question though, does your bluetooth system show what song is playing? I only have a blank display on my radio...
Wow really, I have not noticed the car initiating the playback issue.
The skip tracks works fine from my Jeep, using the wheel control or on the head unit
Ok, I got it to work. I unpaired the phone from the car and re-paired them again and voila! I'm happy now, working like a charm. And no, the screen just shows 'BT Audio', as it did with the Galaxies, I'm not sure if there's something else I need to do with the BT settings but I really hadn't looked into it.
can't skip tracks with z3 through steering wheel anymore
I am having same problem. Switched from galaxy s4 to sony z3. Great phone but no longer can skip or replay songs. S4 skipped songs just fine. Now Just volume works on steering wheel. Unpaired phone and repaired and didn't work. Also tried pausing stopping everything. Any help would be appreciated.

Me too, tried all of the above suggestions and even disabling throw. I might try using throw specifically when I get a chance. Any help would be appreciated.

car bluetooth issues.

I'm wondering if anyone has problems with their car kit and xz premium.
I had a nexus 5X which always worked flawlessly regardless of android version or rom.
My car only allows headset connectivity, no stereo audio for music, just calls.
So here's the problem, since having the Sony I can make calls fine but incoming calls are troublesome.
I have to answer the call (car or phone controls) then switch from bluetooth to speaker (car keeps ringing) then answer again using the car controls, then swap speaker to Bluetooth on the handset. Then it stops ringing (car not handset) and the audio is routed correctly.
Any one have the same or found a fix?
I have never had any issue with the XZP for handling BT calls, switching music or any other apps in the Car. The only issue, though minor, is once in a while the Song info doesn't come in my car display.
Bluetooth music did not work in latest BMW 530i and Sony xz premium.
Sony xz worked good in the same car.
there is definitely something going on with Bluetooth and XZ premium
I haven't had any issues, I have been using it for both calls and music in my car and with various headsets without a problem. My wife has the phone too and hasn't had any problems with Bluetooth, connecting to either of our cars for calls and music.
My Mercedes BT media interface will freeze BT searching in XZP and stream doesn't work at all.

On my Kenwood unit, after pairing and allowing contacts share, some show up ok but I also have the majority showing name as blank and (No Number).
Not sure but going to try disconnecting and pairing again.

I have tried a factory reset of the Kenwood unit in the car but the issue remains.
Anyone got any ideas please? [emoji3]

There are some Bluetooth issues and it seems to be the phone. Had mine a week and a few times its not auto paired and on a few other occasions when playing music the track names are not updating on the car display. Never happened on my S6 with Nougat.
Bluetooth looks massively updated in Android O, hope Sony gets us the update quickly.

This is the problem I have. Got the latest 420d and the phone section works appart from no phone book access. No incoming call Ringtones. No connected drive app support and you cant play music from the phone using Bluetooth
Bluetooth issues have been bothering me since I upgraded from Xperia Z3 to XZ Premium. I have an android car head unit and the Z3 worked flawlessly for calls and media audio but the XZP will only give me media audio no matter what I try.

Bloody annoying or what?
I have the issue with my (both new) xz premium & renault megane. Phone connects to media settings, but not the phone settings then approx 3 mins later disconnects everything. It also won't show any album artwork/artist info. I hope Sony fix this soon as I'm about to scream.
Do the issues persist after the last updates? I plan to buy a XZP but I need bluetooth in my car so it will definitely guide my choice!
Hi. My XZP has updated to android 8 and now the Bluetooth works as expected ?
Oreo did not bring any change the problems persist

This did the trick for me: changed to BT AVRCP Ver 1.5
Spotify BT integration: Xperia XZ Premium G8141 (8.0.0 build 47.1.A.12.75) - BMW330e 2017
1. Enable developer mode:
system - about phone - build number - tap 7 times at "build number"
2. Set Bluetooth AVRCP to ver 1.5:
system - developer options - Bluetooth AVRCP Version - select "AVRCP 1.5"
3. Delete existing BT pairing and make a new one
Done!

Streaming on Xperia 5II after last update

Hi, is anybody having bother streaming anything. Since the last update, Spotify, BBC Sounds, Youtube, Bt Sport etc, trying to play it through my bose soundlink is practically impossible. Other phones/tablets etc work fine so i know its not the speaker. contacted Sony, they said try `safe mode` and if not factory reset. I've done all that and its still glitchy as hell. known problem or is my phone goosed? Cheers.

Just FYI I'm on 58.1.A.1.178, as72 and been streaming BBC sounds for the last couple of hours via BT to a Bluesound Power node and it's working fine.
I noticed the same, but only with my Bose Soundlink Mini II. My QuietComfort 35, Aftershokz, Kenwood Bluetooth car radio, bluetooth receiver on amp all work fine. It's just the Soundlink Mini II that has a problem with it.
I checked the bluetooth codec that is used and it still only uses SBC (only one supported on this speaker). And playing around with the settings there didn't make a difference either...
Having the same problem since the last update too. Can't bluetooth from my phone to my Bose SoundLink Mini when it was never an issue before. The speaker is not the problem, it works fine with other devices as normal. My phone discovers the speaker for pairing but when I select it, zero result. Resetting everything on both devices (I'm reluctant to do a factory reset on my phone) hasn't helped. Have emailed Sony and awaiting feedback. I really don't want to look at buying a different speaker just for my phone.
Update 6th May: Sony was zero help. I re-looked at the problem, decided to reset my wi-fi and bluetooth on my phone (android - Settings>System>Advanced>Reset Options>Reset Wi-Fi & Bluetooth). I hadn't reset the Wi-Fi before. Was able to pair my phone with the Soundlink successfully after the reset!
