Hello
I have a probs here, why i can't send Private Message.
Everytime i send, there's no message i have sent in my Sent Message folder.
Help please?
there are many reasons for this to happen, perhaps:
they disable receiving PM or they only enable it for their contacts and mods
they set their profile privacy, so that bla..bla..bla
u're in their ignored lists
*PM me for testing that everything works fine
I'm having this problem as well. I can't get any private messages out, no replies, no new ones, nothing. They don't even show up in my outbox.
EDIT: huh. I went through my options and had it save sent messages in my outbox which got everything right. If I don't save to outbox, I can't send a pm at all. Weird.
I think all phones have different SMSC numbers... I messed up mine and when I hit refresh, I see 0180 but I don't know if that's the right number.
I don't think I even changed anything, I only wanted to change it to GSM only but it would not let me do that.
Now, I cannot send text but I can receive it.

Changed it to +13123149810 based on what some people suggested in other forums, that didn't work so I went back to 0180 and went to messaging, settings, then put in +13123149810 in Message Center... that worked!
i have a htc mytouch 4g, android 2.2.1 and i don't know how to stop receiving promotional sms from my provider.i'm receiving around 200 sms per day and i would like to know how to stop that by any configuration on my phone because i'm getting crazy.
if anyone knows, please help me.
thanks!
Reply with "STOP"
there is app on play store to block receiving sms from specific sender
Calling their service and asking them to stop might help as well. Although, it is most likely not their intention to send 200sms'/day.

So a friend of mine whose number I didn't have sent me some texts yesterday. she asked if i got them, which I didn't. She had my phone number correct, though. so I added her to my contacts, and suddenly those two texts appeared, listed as sent yesterday.
Why would this happen? I've checked the settings for an ignore option, thinking maybe it was enabled, but can't find one.
Hey guys, I have a quick ? that I am hoping someone may have a thought or two about. My wifes little sght959v running GB 2.3.6 has issues receiving mm texts. She constantly receive texts from friend but she cant see them or open them up. It just shows a bunch of info and says "searching". Any thoughts as to what this may be or how I can remedy this. All normal texts are good. Just no mm's or picture texts. Thanks in advance. Happy Holidays to all!
What carrier are you using? Do you have the APN information set up properly?
Does it happen when data is going over the carrier's network? Over WiFi? Both?
A screenshot would help, as the specific symptoms don't sound at all familiar.

She's on T-MO, no data, no wifi etc. She receives regular texts just not multimedia/picture messages. I'll work on putting up a screenie.
Mms only works if you have data turned on. If it's not on when she received the pic it's hard to get back. I've had that problem before.

Thank you. Does that apply even if she does not have a data plan???
Yes. No data means no mms.
My wife had a similar problem when I had her on GB. She saves every dam text. It was like the first one to overloaded the system caused every picture text after to be missed.
I called tmobile, ended up doing a factory reset. After that, she hated the phone so much for losing all those "important" text, I had to buy her a "new" phone. But, she had over 400 text saved. Yes, she's blonde..

I think I may be married to her sister. hahaha Thanks guys!
You need some kind of data to get MMS -- basically an MMS is an SMS with a link that tells the phone where to get the content. If you can't get to that link (it's like a private server), you get that dreaded "Downloading" indication that never goes away. I'm not certain if you can get MMS when you only have WiFi. It wouldn't surprise me if you need the carrier's data to get to their MMS server. There doesn't have to be a picture involved; it could just be straight text from an iPhone that it sent as an MMS.
I'm not sure that the number of messages you have on the phone should matter a lot. I've got well over 5,000 on mine. It does mean that certain people's threads take a while to open up, and it does consume around 25 MB on my phone to store them all.

Def believe the IPhone thing. (most people around her have them) I will say though, that I turned data on (without data plan) and all of a sudden she starts receiving back dated stuff. Like 20 in 5 minutes. Going to leave it on and see what happens as I only had it off to save battery.
