help please bricked going from Oxygen to cm12 - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all I hope someone can help I made a mess of flashing from oxygen to cm12. Not only have I lost my backup cm 12 fails to flash most probe ray as I didn't check version of twrp and using older version and now I have no is all I have is twrp and ability to go in fastboot. I really made a mess this time so any help if possible to unbrick it be much appreciated.

Here you go:

Thanks but that's for hardware brick mine is software brick

Dude, if you can get into recovery and fast boot you're far from bricked. Fastboot flash the factory image. If you don't know how.... Google it.

Maybe just fastboot flash the latest TWRP and try reflashing your CM12S zip from this newer recovery.
If that doesn't work, then fastboot flash the factory image as suggested by t3chn0s1s.
All in all, you're indeed quite far from bricked. But you might have lost some data in the process...

Lol. You're nowhere near bricked. Flash the latest TWRP with fastboot and then flash your ROM. If you need instructions go to my guide thread:

Please help...I recieved my OPO today. It was a chinese version that was supposed ot ship with CM 11s but instead had just regular cm11. I was trying to flash it with twrp recovery first...but could not see a zip file that would flash correctly on the CM OPO page. I ended up trying to use ADB but ended up bricking my phone. I can get into Fastboot mode but that's all. What can I do now to get it workign again...can't even seem to get into recovery anymore. Please help.

Try flashing a stock image.. follow the instructions on this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-return-opo-to-100-stock-t2826541
extract the image into your adb/fastboot folder and then Run flash-all.bat (if your bootloader is unlocked, if not make sure you unlock it using one of the toolkits available then run flash-all.bat)
Hope this helps.

I'm assuming your bootloader is unlocked? All you need to do is flash TWRP recovery from here.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery <filename>.img
And then grab one of the recovery flashable versions of CM11S from this thread and flash it. That's your easiest solution.

I got it everyone. Thanks though.

No they won't delete it, plus it's good that it remains because the information is now readily available for anyone else who gets into the same situation.

Rooting the A9, Need Assistance

Ok firstly, I do have some novice experience with rooting and such, but this is my first HTC device and it seems a little different and I'm just trying to be really cautious as I can't afford to brick this phone. If someone could assist me, I have the ATT model running build 656287. Would really appreciate assistance in being able to throw CM on here. Thanks!
unlock your device from htcdev.com
flash twrp
backup your rom and data
flash supersu

Unlocked it perfectly, but when I flashed TWRP and tried to boot into it, it went back into stock recovery. Any ideas?
How are you flashing the recovery?
What command are you using?

Try this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/general/ftf-e66xx-patched-kernels-google-drive-t3630282
Thanks I think I'll just try first steps and flash it back to stock.
Can I just ask, in that guide, can I just use fastboot adb and flash just the patched kernel and then twrp again, could that solve my problems or will I have to use flash tool and install that rom aswell thanks

How to uninstall TWRP to recover the factory recovery ?

Hello,
I installed TWRP by fastboot mode.
I would like to uninstall TWRP to recover the original recovery.
Would anyone know the steps to follow or the tutorial recommended for this purpose?
Thank you in advance.

You should be able to flash stock recovery through fastboot the same way you flashed twrp. Just get the proper recovery.img file and fastboot flash it, It'll replace twrp with the stock one. If you don't care about wiping your phone you could just flash the whole stock rom which might be easier.
What is the reason for wanting the stock recovery back?
Bonjour/ Hi LeMoise,
I want to recover the recovery because my gyroscope sensor is down.
This to send it back to the store and claim the warranty without any problems because I installed AOKP.
Do you know where can I find original android recovery.img? Is there an address?
Ps: Je parle Français aussi.
HELP
Isn't it tough to manage? reason to know why you really wanna uninstall? Is there everything perfect to Uninstall TWRP?
Not Yet! I didn't find any good idea about it. Anybody help?
you don't uninstall twrp..
you flash over it with the factory recovery..
every device has a different recovery.
you will have to find the exact right one for your device.
I'm regular installing twrp on different devices to test them whether twrp properly working on these devices or not.
You can't remove twrp recovery from your android device. I'm not alone who saying this. twrp. me official website also says that. It is impossible to uninstall twrp recovery from any android device. But yes, they're saying the only method to remove twrp from you device is replacing.
Mean you can replace twrp recovery from your device stock recovery. By doing this stock recovery will overwrite on twrp recovery. This is the only way to uninstall twrp from your android device.
If you want to know more deeply about removing twrp then check twrpupdate guide - https://twrpupdate.com/uninstall-twrp-recovery/
Hope it helps you.
If you still have any query then dm me. Or reply here. I'll reply as soon as possible.

[SOLVED] Need help, recovery flash failed (Newb)

Hey Guys,
I got a new OP8T and wanted to install LineageOS 19.1 (First time doing something like this, so this might be a dumb question).
before doing anything, I updated OOS to the latest version using the internal update. I then unlocked the bootloader and flashed the latest LOS recovery. After flashing the LOS recovery, my phone goes into a boot loop whenever I try to boot it, after 4-5 loops, it boots into the stock recovery.
I can access fastboot mode though. Does anyone have an idea how I can fix this or what I might have done wrong?
In the recovery I have the option "format data". Might that do a factory reset?
Or should I go into fastboot and try flashing the recovery again?
I also thought about flashing Android 12 OOS from: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-official-kebab-12-lineageos-19.4484387/page-2#post-87339737
I'm a little afraid to completely bricking the phone now by doing something stupid.
Edit: Tried to "format data". No real changes. Can still boot into recovery and fastboot.
Another thought I had, was that now, after factory resetting, the phone might be back to Android 11, so maybe I could try to flash TWRP for Android 11 and then LineageOS 18.1?
What are your thoughts?
Edit: Forgot to flash the vbmeta.img and dtbo.img partitions.
Flashing them and then flash the recovery again resolved the issue
A factory reset does not downgrade your OS version. Did you flash the dtbo and vbmeta partitions before flashing LOS recovery?

It's a good thing to look through the official thread before flashing anything.

What I would do is go into fastboot and flash dtbo, vbmeta and recovery downloaded from here, then reboot into recovery directly from the bootloader menu.

Is that the same as the most recent recovery and LOS from LOS official download page?
Anyway you're a huge help! Thank you so much!
The file name is identical so I suppose they are the same. I found the link in the official guide.

I'll go ahead and try it first thing tomorrow morning
Don't be too anxious about "completely bricking" your phone if you're just trying to upgrade and then flash Lineage. Don't rush, try some things that make sense based on your understanding of the correct procedure, and make a brief note of each step you took to help you later on if things don't work as expected. I've made lots of mistakes ending in boot loops and crash dumps, sometimes by accident and sometimes intentionally, and there's always a way to get out of it unless you do something really out of the ordinary. Keep your mind engaged and you'll have many "Ah-ha!" moments along the way. Don't give up and ask carefully worded questions when you get stuck. It may take a bit longer to get the job done than you expected but it will all work out in the end.
Flashing the partitions and the reflashing the recovery worked! Thank you all for the help!
