Did you you use the latest CWM recovery which is ver. 6.0.4.3? Atm that's the only one able to flash aosp kitkat 4.4.
Hi guys. My problem is different from the OP's.
After flashing the alpha 2 I can no longer boot into Recovery. Now when I am in the bootloader and select Recovery the phone reboots normally into Android.
Also SU is requesting to update binaries, but the update fails from the app. Was thinking about flashing it again but without getting to Recovery it is not possible..
Cheers

Do you still have superuser function? Outdated is fine if your phone will grant su requests.. If you have su get the CWM app and have it update your recovery..

Actually ROM Manager downgraded the CWM to the non-touch version from the touch one that I had downloaded from their site.
It is working well now though... I can live with the non-touch version
Thanks a lot!

Now that your recovery is back, reflash the touch version..

[Q] Aokp Nightly update

Hello. on one of my other phones I got cyanogenmod and when a new nightly rom comes out the phone gets a update OTA like normal phones does but how do I update AOKP nightly on my phone to the newest wersion without having to flash like a new. I am on Nexus 5 4.2.2
There is an app called AOKPush https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=info.sethyx.aokpush

You don't need to wipe anything to update, you can just download the zip and flash it in recovery.

I also recommend Goo Manager, it has some OTA feature that might work.

This is not a chore. Besides, you need to boot into recovery before taking your pre-flash nandroid backup

[Q] How to update nightly update of CyanogenMod without losing any files?

I want to update the latest CyanogenMod NIGHTLY update without losing any files. How can I do this?
Should I just flash the NIGHTLY update zip and then clean system cache and dalvik cache?
Please tell me the correct procedure.

1. Flash cm11-xxxxxxxx-NIGHTLY-taoshan.zip via recovery
2. Wipe only cache & dalvik cache
3. Done
If you use the CM Updater from Settings -> about phone -> CyanogenMod updates it will all be done for you. Just follow instructions.
CM Updater not working.

I previously tried the CM updater, whenever I update using it then I get bootloop, then I have to clean install the the ROM. Why is it happening?
I will try installing using recovery.

Are you using a custom kernel like ThunderZap/Phantom? Because you have to reflash it every rime you update. You can best use CyanDelta for it instead of CM updater.

I have Phantom kernel

No, make sure to flash Phantom after you installed the update. CyanDelta has a option to do it automatically.

I tried the CM updater and then flashed Phantom kernel, then I got a dialog box on the boot saying
"Android is upgrading
Finishing Boot"
and it is stuck here.
Then I tried installing from recovery using these steps
1. Delete Cache/Dalvik Cache
2. Install from ZIP
3. Delete Cache/Dalvik Cache
Now I got the same message that "Finishing boot"
I waited on this screen for more than 30 mins still nothing happened, so I removed the battery and I got bootloop.
Finally I had to restore my old NIGHTLY update
What is happening??
please help me

'install from zip'
Did you installed both NIGHTLY & Phantom? Because then everything should work.

I installed only the NIGHTLY. Will try again
But there is a problem when I install Phantom then my Recovery changes from CWM to Philz Touch and the Sony logo changes to Phantom.
How to get back my CWM and Sony Logo? I don't like Philz touch and Phantom logo

You can ask the dev if he/she can compile a version with the Sony logo & CWM. Other than that, there's no solution.

Hey buddy no problem with the recovery, thing is awesome recovery is modified and works for flashing limited roms, if you want to flash miui vs 4 revised i would suggest you to flash CMW or TWRP 2.6 again
