[Q] Nexus 5 unable to connect to network - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As the title says, since I updated to 5.1 about 3 days ago after not using my nexus for about a month my nexus is now completely unable to register a signal with T-Mobile about 98% of the time. My phone is rooted, but other than that it is all stock, I have tried using the SIM on a different phone and it works perfectly only in my nexus does it not work. My APN is set to the correct one and all of it is set to the right values. When I try to manually select my network provider as everyone has told me to when I select T-Mobile it will bring up a box that says "registering to t mobile". After about 30 seconds a notification appears saying "Selected Network unavailable". Does anyone have any help they can offer, or is anyone else experiencing this or any similar problems? Please let me know. Thank you!

[Q] help plz: no internet connection

Hi there ,
I just bought a motorola xoom 3g and have the following problem with it:
When i put my sim card in it, it asks for the pincode and when i enter it it shows a couple of highlighted bars, but when i press on that bars it shows "no internet connection"
I already configured the apn setting but i make to difference......
I can connect trough wifi and then i've internet...
Can someone please help me with this problemen which is very annoying

Are you entering the right pin? Are you the second owner? Has 3G worked before? Have you tried entering the last 4 of the Xoom phone number as the pin? What carrier are you on?

I use vodafone NL
i just got it one dag, fresh from the shop with a dataplan. Its brandnew. The shop said it's unlocked. The PIN code is stock (0000) and it saids code accepted so i dont think it's wrong.
When I went to my mom i turned wifi off and wanted to use the 3G network but it only shows "no internet connection" on the upper right corner

[Q] Strange network connection issues

Hello fellow S3ers! I am David and I am new here.
I seem to be having a strange problem with my data network connection: My S3 is with Verizon and I have had it for several month now.
This morning everything was working fine down in FL and I hopped on a plane, set my phone to airplane mode, and returned to Philadelphia. After landing and disabling airplane mode, my phone refused to connect to any sort of data network - no 4G, 3G, or 1x. Calling and txting works fine.
I have been searching for a while now with no success. But here is the strange thing: I went into About Phone > Software Update, and clicked "Check now." Low and behold, the 4G icon flashed on and downloaded the latest update! (Which was over 140mb).
The phone updated and restarted, and now it says Software up to date. I saw the 4G icon flash on for a moment after the initial update restart, and then it flashed off. I went into software update again, and clicking Check Now caused the 4G icon to turn on again! It immediately turned off again, however. I was able to repeat this cycle several times, but now the Check now button does not turn the 4G back on at all - even for a moment as it did 10 minutes ago.
Any ideas how to solve this issue or what is going on?
Please let me know if I can provide you with any additional settings or details, but here are some details that may be relevant:
Mobile data: checked.
Network Mode: Global
APNs: None checked, EHRPD and LTE - Verison Internet are white, the rest are grayed out.
Mobile network type: LTE:14
Service State: In Service
Mobile network state: Disconnected

I got the same issue, was working yesterday but today nothing. If I force it to cdma only I can get 3g data but it didn't stick around very long either...

northeast is having data connectivity issues at the moment- I called in and thats what support told me so most likely its the network right now and not your phone with the issue

Good news, 3G is now up on my device and it appears to be stable for the moment. No 4G yet, but I do have one more question just to make sure I didn't accidentally change something when I was troubleshooting it.
Network mode should be set to Global?
Should a specific APN be selected? Currently, both EHRPD - Verizon Internet, and LTE - Verizon Internet are white and selectable, however none seem to be checked with the little green dot. The rest are still grayed out. Is this normal, or should I select one?
Interesting to hear about the N.E. network issues. I suppose that makes me feel better lol.

[Q] Help with connectivity please

Since two weeks I am a proud owner of my new Nexus 5. However I have some trouble with it. The connection of my mobile network can suddenly disappear. I also have a very slow data connection, most of the time nothing, sometimes only GPRS. I can barely send a Whatsapp message with this connection. I have tried other simcards in my phone, but they work neither. As far as i know, all my settings are correct. The only thing that concerns me, is that at the radioband selection, the only option is "USA Band" while I'm in Europe. And yes, I have the D821 version. Also the "preferred network" option switches automatically back to GSM. Unfortunately I can't post screenshots, due to I'm a new user. I hope someone can still help me . Thanks in advance!

[Q] LG Nexus 5 fails to recognize celullar network

Hello,
I have a Nexus 5 phone that came with Kitkat a few months back. The phone worked without issues until I decided to update to Lollipop 5.0 (OTA update) at the end of November. Initially the phone started to have troubles to detect the network at certain times - typically "playing" with the settings "Preferred network type" by changing from 4G to 2G, restarting, letting the phone detect the network on 2G mode and change back to 3G or 4G would fix the problem. The issue became more and more frequent until a point where i can not change the "Preferred network type" from 4G to any other type (as if it is "glued" on that setting). At this point my phone does not recognize at all the cellular network but It does seem to recognize the SIM card since i need to enter the 4 digit code to unlock SIM and it displays the network name, just no service.
I've researched the internet and I've tried several things but nothing seems to fix it such as restart mobile, change to airplane mode and back, take out and re-insert SIM card, request new SIM card from operator. The APN settings seem to be OK.
I've noticed that a new 5.1 version just came out and although I was not fully familiar with the process i decided to give it a try (after reading several instructions) and update manually (using factory images posted) and see if that would fix it. The phone is now with version 5.1 and still can't recognize the cellular network - no service. Everything else works fine, including Wi-Fi.
Has anyone experienced such issue after OTA update? The only odd thing I can think of is that I did the initial OTA update to 5.0 in US while i was on travel from Europe, but I can't say if this would in some way contribute to the issue. The mobile is D821 model.
Since I was stuck and mobile is within warranty period, I have sent it to service repair. I would be interested to know ideas of what could be the issue cause.

Mobile Network Not Available

Hi folks,
This is my first post on here. I'm having a problem with my phone which I think is quite unique and I hope someone on here can help me fix it before I buy a new device.
I have a galaxy nexus (maguro) running cyaogenmod.
Previously I was running CM11 (cm-11-20141115-SNAPSHOT-M12-maguro) from the CM website and updated it to CM12.1 cm-12.1-20160719-SNAPSHOT-YOG7DAO8DL-maguro) a few weeks ago.
When I rebooted my phone it was running very slow (and getting very warm) so I did a factory reset and re-installed CM12.1.
It started working ok but I noticed that my phone was displaying 'emergency calls only' even though the network reception in the status bar was full, displaying 'H' (3g) and allowing me to connect to the internet using 3G.
Whenever I make a call it states 'Mobile network not available' and I cannot send text messages.
I tried phoning O2 and they gave me a new sim but the problem was still happening. I then tried putting my girlfriend's EE sim into the phone and I could make calls/send messages. I also went to France on holiday and could use my phone to phone/text using my O2 sim abroad. Whenever I put my O2 sim into another phone I can make calls and text.
So basically it is only when my O2 sim is specifically in the Galaxy Nexus that I cannot make calls/send texts but can still use 3g.
Oh yeah when I go to Settings>Mobile Network Settings>Network Operators the following available networks are shown:
O2-UK
T-Mobile UK
3 UK
vodafone UK
Orange
When I select O2-UK is states 'cannot connect at this time. Please try again later'
I've tried re-installing the older version of CM11 and today I tried wiping the entire phone (internal sd card etc) and it is still happening. Can anyone help? Is there something else I can wipe, or setting I can change?
