Hey guys I know it's probably been discussed before but I really need to find the correct info. I'm looking to save battery life to the fullest. I even went and bought the 3500mah battery and it seems to improve a lot. Now I just flashed the infusion kernel and want to learn about under clocking. Any help?
Just throwing this out there, but your best bet would be to check in the general section. People are going to end up jumping on you for posting in the wrong section.

Yeah but would this pertain to roms and kernels which is development. Thank you for you concern though. Also I'm noticing that when I lock my phone or while its charging and locked and I touch the backlit buttons on the bottom of the screen they turn on. Um why? Haha

BLN, and honestly the best way to learn about UV'ing is by trail and error. Each phone can handles uv'ing differently. Some can take a lot, while others cant. If you want to learn some more in depth look through the kernels thread and somewhere in there is a guide to everything pertaining to overclocking.
Ah. Ok I gotcha. Is there a way to turn that off Usps when I touch it it doesn't come on. I likethe notification idea though. Also how exactly does unvolting work. I don't mind playing around but how do I use it. Lol

Also, if you are asking a question, even pertaining to roms, it goes in general. He was being nice about it, but this really doesn't belong here.

Ah so only posts no questions? Mods could you move it if it doesn't belong here please.

I would suggest reading through the Infusion thread. I know it's long, but here's the basics:
If using SetCPU (I know a lot of people say you should only use Voltage Control, but no one has been able to specifically point to why, leading me to believe that it's just a bunch of placebo effect crud, since the kernel does all the work and the sysfs interface used by both is the same.
In general: Start with small UV values and then work your way down. Values that work for some people fail for others. For example, some people manage to undervolt by 100 mV at 100-400 MHz, I get SoDs if I undervolt by more than 50 at 100/200 and 75 at 400.
The general rule for the dev forum is: If you have a question that is not answered in the thread for a kernel/ROM and is specific to that ROM, you can post it in that ROM's thread. MAKE SURE you read/search the thread to see if your question has not already been answered! Never post a new thread unless you are specifically raising a development-related topic. (Bug reports and feature requests is NOT development. Exception that I would personally accept is that if you see a bugfix commit in github against a kernel for another Samsung device, or possibly a non-Samsung device that has a bugfix against hardware we have, such as the BCM4330 wifi chipset's crappy power management, and the bug affects our devices, I'd be interested in knowing about the commit so I can investigate applying it.)

This is due to excesive lack of power while the screen is off. It should be tackled in future releases. For now you can try raising the screen off freq from any kernel tweaker that provides that option (or tweaking the threshold up). You can also try disabling power-suspend.

Not sure... There is nothing WiFi specific in this build, just plain CM. Maybe reboot, reinstall, etc.
Also, I do not plan on regularly monitoring this Q&A thread that XDA automatically creates...please stick to the main thread
ok, im going to download from the mega link and, not flash the donkey kernel to see if that works
Running the rom on Boost, and so far so good everything is working as it should be. Well with the exception of the data, however i'm generally always around wifi so not a deal breaker. However running it full time if anyone needs any logs or anything would be willing to help.

Thanks. This thread is the Q&A that is automatically made by XDA... Head over to the main thread and I am sure we can use a hand with some logs in the near future!

If you can, definitely head to the main thread. We are definitely in need of some logs right now though. Anything you can get for us would be greatly appreciated. Looks like we have several people including @mightysween and @crouse digging deep into this to try and get data fixed for all of us unlucky (or perhaps lucky, in a twisted way?) CDMA device owners.
In other words... I want my candy.
I still haven't breached the 10 post threshold to post in the main thread otherwise would be helping more.

Yeah that was a pain. I never post. So i picked a random general thread and posted away.
ok downloading and installing new build. still can't make posts in main thread sorry.
---------- Post added at 07:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:34 PM ----------
Installed newest build and nothing is there, no calls, sms, data. nothing. no registered IP address heck not even returning me a phone number.
Downloading latest build will try to help anyway i can.
---------- Post added at 07:00 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:46 AM ----------
ok so anyway latest build i have the option to choose cdma subscription
All issues still stem from Sim dependencies. Got some things in mind to try, and I don't see us giving up on it. At least, I don't plan on it. One more post it seems and you'll be on main thread.

Would it work better as a kernel mod or a radio mod to flash it for other ROMs besides CM12?
Sent from my XT1031
I'm new to android coding, but were not touching the kernel or the radio. These are changes made directly to the OS. These changes, if we ever got them working, would most likely have to be a compile-time change.
From now on to keep the thread clean, I'm just going to ask: can this work with multirom?

I just wanted to say that I have been following the development, and I am heartened by your efforts. Keep up the good work!

battery led problem
hi, I have this ROM Small update version. All it's ok, but I have small bugs with battery led. (it doesn't blink if battery is low, it doesn't flash if I plug charger), thx for some help.
Nice ROM
Its ROM that I love. But I dont use your setting performance, I think its still no lag with just Max Clock on 1008 MHz. Then better don't use the zRAm when play game. When I use ZRam, Much lag when playing game. Oh ya, If I prefer performance better use CPU governor with MinMax or Smartassv2? then I use NOOP for I/O Scheduler but you use SIO which one better for performance?
I hope you launch ROM again when CM 11 be stable on Xperia J. I really like the swap memory that you do.
I want to know that, how to change the minimum clockspeed of my phone's processor.
I mean to say that my phone is octa-core having frequency range of 728MHz-1664MHz. So i want to decrease my minimum frequency that is 728MHz to 500MHz or something bcoz it will save a lot of battery .......so how to do that.........plz reply

Hi
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
As you already received help in in this post I will close this thread. You can only underclock your device with a custom kernel which hasn't been developed yet for lack of source code. Keep an eye on this thread > Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [Help Thread][Karbonn Octane Plus] for any related news.
