Looking for a lollipop rom with this specific feature - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have tried a few lollipop roms and I can't seem to find one that has the on screen nav button editor/reorganizer. I want to be able to reorder the on screen nav buttons and also assign longpress actions to them. I know you can assign long press to the hardware keys but I would like to be able to do this with the onscreen nav keys. Does anyone know of a lollipop rom that has this feature?

You should be able to open the SystemUI.apk and edit the navbar yourself if you really need it.

[Q] Nav bar menu button p5110

I seem to be having problems getting a menu button to work in the soft keys (nav bar) on custom roms on my P5110. I have tried CM10.1, CM10.2 and now currently on SlimBean 4.3.
When I enable the menu button in the nav bar, it appears but it never works. I cannot access the menu at all, the button is dead! All the other buttons on the nav bar appear to work.
Frustrating as having a menu button in my navbar is very important for me.
Anyone else had this issue?
Thanks.

no buddy never had such issue but i can say that region of screen is not working i which menu button is situated
take it to customer care center
they may do something for sure that might help you
I can't take it back, being rooted and all that.
I have no idea why when I go into nav bar settings in a custom rom such CM, I change the "recents" button to "menu" but it just doesn't work.

Hardware key mapping: how to use recents?

Hey guys,
I am a SlimKat user but dualboot with Miui. Now, that ROM hasn't integrated hardware key mapping, unlike SlimKat and GravityBkx doesn't work, unfortunately. I prefer hardware buttons over soft keys and I don't like OP's button placement. I know off changing the key mapping manually using "Generic.kl" in system/usr/keylayout.
I have found the correct Buttons that I want to have changed, but I don't know how to change them to recents? Menu is MENU WAKE_DROPPED. Back is BACK WAKE_DROPPED. Recents? No clue.
Does anyone know the code for recents? Or maybe I can download a Samsung Galaxy S5 ROM and check the recents code in their(it has a hardware recents button, right?)
Thank you in advance!
BTW: back is key 158 and menu is key 139 for those who want to know.
Oh, wow... Google is amazing...
It's: APP_SWITCH....

Which roms have remappable back and menu keys?

Some lollipop (and kitkat) roms allow you to easily remap the back and menu keys. I like to have both keys set to back on short press and menu on long press. I know that Omnirom, Slim Saber, and Dirty Unicorns have it. Are there any other Lollipop roms with this feature? I have used many roms without this feature and remap both keys to back in generic.kl and use button savior to have a menu key, but that's a hassle. TIA for any suggestions!

It should just be a matter of you reading the features list for each ROM to find out.

Most roms have the ability to remap the home and menu keys.. Few roms have the ability to remap the back key, or assign the back function to the menu key. All of them can say they have remappable hardware buttons.

NavBar Button options Mod available w/o Custom/MagiskROM?

Hi Guys,
is there a NavBar Button mod available to change the button behavior (single tap, double tap, long press actions)?
I would like to start the camera app with double tap on virtual home/start button.
On my OP5 it was standard to open camera via double tap on hardware home/start button.
I know that many Custom/Magisk ROMs add this functionality to change the button behavior, but is there an option to do this w/o a custom ROM?
Thank you in advance.
I doubt it
Haven't heard of any...
Why not just use the gestures? With the screen off or showing the ambient display, if you draw a circle on the screen it'll open the camera. (May need to turn the option on)

ewww navbars. There is no similar or advanced functionality to perform on navbars. Just use hardware key, gesture based functionality from xposed edge (or some Magisk mod). Almost anything you want to take further requires root/unlocked bootloader.

SW System buttons shortcuts customization in OOS12.1?

Hi. I wanna ask if anyone knows a way to get back the software system buttons shortcuts customization in OOS 12.1 with rooted phone. By these shortcuts i mean for example double clicking overview button (square) for dragging the navigation bar down and other useful things that were customizable in OOS11. Now we just have long press overview for separated screen, double click overview for sliding through active apps and long press home buton (circle) for google assistant with no ability to change any of these in settings AFAIK.
