Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 32GB In Hand - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6

Just got it in my hands fresh out of the box. Ask me anything I'll even post pics and system info for devs.

How much free space is there? What apps are installed out of the box? Which of them can't be disabled? Thanks!

Thank you, this is very helpful. Can you clarify on whether the preloaded apps are at least able to be disabled, even if they can't be uninstalled? Much appreciated.

What is the ROM version? We are all assuming its bootloader locked.
Will you be using a case? If not, how does it feel in hand?
So many questions LOL

I got it through work, free. Its much lighter in my hands compaired to my S5. They issued me the stock verizon kickstand case they normally do. Bootloader is locked.
Rom version is 5.0.2
Baseband is G920VVRU1AOC3
Kernel is 3.10.61 - [email protected] #1
Build number is LRX22G.G920VVRU1AOC3

any OTA's yet?

Can you check if it has Simple Share as an option for sharing? I think you have to go to the stock gallery app and try to share an image/video and it should be an option. I'm starting to think they removed it (it was removed from AT&T's version, but is present in T-Mo)

Baseband processor?
Which baseband processor (radio) is being used in Verizon's CDMA variant? The easiest way to determine is get Phone Info app
T-Mobile/AT&T and global GSM variants use Samsung's own SHANNON 333 modem, but I'm guessing Verizon/Sprint will have Qualcomm MDM9635 because of the CDMA support.
Please post a screenshot if you can.
Thanks again!
*EDIT* This is what GSM Variant screenshot looks like:

By any chance, do any of these three ServiceMode Dial codes work on Verizon variant?

Who cares about widgets if it can't maintain a connection to facebook more than a day or two? Has that been fixed?
Actually...I think there's something wrong on Facebook's end...Tweetdeck is reporting there are some problems with the FB api.

Eh, that doesn't really matter... what matters is their app advertises as an "all in one" social app, when in reality the Facebook part is broken. Don't add features until the core functionality of the app works IMO.
Well you can't really blame them for Facebook recently having problems though because in the beginning, it worked fine.
[Q] how do i stay current with the latest td beta
I am currently running .98 but how do I know when a new version is out?
I hope there is a new version out because I can no longer add my facebook or buzz accounts :-(

Measures time spent on each app. See which apps to uninstall because you're not using them!
The most accurate app usage tracker! Accurate to less than a second on Android 1.6 and up.
Main features:
* Free (for now)
* Shows app usage by time or number of launches.
* See usage for today, the last week, the last month, or since installing.
* Click on apps for more information, like first launch, install date, etc.
* Uses virtually no battery power- only records when you change apps, unlike others which check every x seconds!
See how much time you're wasting on Angry Birds or Facebook!
Great app. It is an app that should have been present on Gingerbread by default.
Hey chaitanya91845, thanks for your download, really glad you liked it. If you have any suggestions, please let us know
Quick update:
Added default icon for apps with no icon. 1.3 had this for new users; 1.3.2 fixes it for upgrading users.
When I go to the market, I get this error "Your device is not compatible with this item"...
I'm using galaxy ace with cm 7.1....
Same message with my HTC desire.
Works on my HTC Evo...
Same here not compatible with my Samsung Galaxy S i9000T. I wonder for what devices it will work.
thank you testing it now.
Hi adiles, kostelo, claus1953,
Thanks for the feedback.
This seems to be an incompatibility with recent versions of CM. We've changed some settings on our official Android Market account; hopefully that fixes it. Can you please try again?
If that doesn't work you should be able to install it from slideme: http://slideme.org/application/appusage

Great app... but I'm less than impressed by the recent update that forces users to add their gender and age.
Hey zmattmanz. Glad you like the app. It should have only asked you about your gender and age once... that has always been present, not as part of an update. Did it ask twice?
If you're concerned about your privacy, don't worry. We're pretty sure it's not possible to personally identify you. No one will contact you. It's more anonymous than the top search engines!

Update: We released a pro add-on that opts you out of the data screen. Keep in mind that the non-pro version collects NON-IDENTIFIABLE information. In other words, this is more anonymous than using google. But as requested, we released a pro add-on version to suit some customers at a very reasonable price. We are currently working on new features for both versions, but the pro will have some extra add-ons. Thanks for all the replies and email, we take your feedback very seriously.

[NON-ROOT][SUPPORT TO 4.0+][FREE CODE][NORTH AMERICA] PhoMen - "Pho" family security

[NON-ROOT][SUPPORT TO 4.0+][FREE CODE][NORTH AMERICA] PhoMen - "Pho" family security
Hey guys, let's try something different.
There is always a huge problem. When you or your families face great danger, especially violence or sexual assault, what will you do to get help? Call 911? Wouldn't have enough time. Shout loudly for help? Might anger the assailant. Escape? It would be worse if you failed.
In order to resolve this problem, we have developed PhoMen, a more efficient and effective SOS tool than 911.
If you already have PhoMen installed, situation would be much better. You can notify your families of your position and situation immediately once you are able to touch your phone, even if it is in your pocket or bag and no need to take it out.
Key features
- Tapping the power button in a quick succession for more than 4 seconds can trigger the emergency mode. Which is not easy to accidentally trigger at the normal time.
- Once you trigger the emergency mode, the app will turn on the WLAN, the mobile data, even the GPS (some device support) of your phone to speed up locating in case they were shut down by some reasons.
- Once your phone is located, your PhoMen will receive a text with url of your location in google maps – and not only that, also with pictures of camera view and sound recordings from your phone (currently in Beta version, coming soon).
There are two editions of PhoMen app. The Standard Edition is not free, but we will offer you guys up to 100 promo codes to download free from Google Play if you are intersting.
The Standard Edition users can choose their family members to be their PhoMen (Emergency Contacts) in the app. And all the PhoMen are be free to use the Family Edition, which function is the same as the Standard Edition.
And yes, the Family Edition users can also choose their family members to be their PhoMen. This is for families. Enjoy.
Promo codes (20 codes come first, also you can reply down here or send private message to us to get the code.)

[APP][4.0+] ChargeTone - Charge/Discharge, Battery State Notification (Promo Codes)

Hey fellow XDAers,
It's been a while since my last Android app and sadly meanwhile Google has closed down more and more APIs ;( making it tougher to make non-root pure-stock users utilities
ChargeTone is basically a utility (service) that notifies you when your device is Charging/Discharging/Full or got to a desired target percentage.
I really miss such behaviors on some devices (especially Nexus/Pixel/OnePlus etc...).

The less cool stuff:
- This time I've add an ad banner in the upper screen.
- As I need to pay for diapers unlocking & removing ads is in-app purchase (However until the end of September I'm providing early-XDA adapters free promo code).
Features / Requests
Feel free also to provide me your ideas.
Currently another nice thing I've add is a single warning upon excessive power changes (usually showing poor connectivity, bad charger) suggesting you to disconnect the device or resolve those issues.
Android Version:
I've really wanted to be able to support Gingerbread (2.3). and my code actually does that.
However due to Google's Admob and latest Play Services ditching it and older version had some bugs from my tests I've lifted it to ICS.
If you still need a 2.3 capable version let me know (though it'll be wiser to find a newer ROM here on XDA )
I'm also attaching latest build here for those who don't have / don't want to use Play.
Sadly this App is mostly intended to be on Play Store so the unlocking is based on IN-APP-BILLING.
Get the App here - PLAY STORE
For XDAers: I've got promo-codes. just PM me and I'll send you one.
* I've generated Promo Codes until the end of September.

When you say arrives at desired target level, do you mean only during charging? Or does it notify you even when discharging?
May I have a promo code, if you please? I'd like to use the ad-free version of this, because even tho I set my OPO to enable charge sounds in the settings, it does not actually do it. This would be great!! Thanks!
Update: I just re-read your OP, and see where you want us to PM you. On my way to doing just that.

Charging sounds DOES need to work, wonder if you have (or the OPO ROM) some system broadcasts disabled.

Currently we left it intentionally to notify on both ways.
If there is a desire to have additional option of setting target notification only in one direction I could add this.
Download on play store..
Thanks for the app man every mobile makes a sound when I plugged in but they don't remind me when it gets full.
Wish to get promo code if available
Thanks!
I'll try to keep this thread up-to-date. on the Play Store I've uploaded a newer version that should resolve this issues. I hope next release I'll also put up on xda.
Thanks!

Samsung 10e (SM-G970U1)

Hi there,
recently I purchased the obove mentioned Smartphone.
Its my first Samsung and I was quite scared by the encroaching behavior of OneUI, paired with Google this a no Go.
I heard, that Samsung has locked my Phone very well, so please kann you give a Guide how to get LineageOS on this Phone.
Btw. i live in Germany and i wonder how I came to an US Version of the S10e .....
Thx a lot in advance
If it's the Snapdragon SOC the bootloader is likely locked.
The Samsung UI is extremely customizable. Galaxy store, choose a theme (the native high contrast one works well), then free icon pack, then choose whatever wallpaper you want.
Turn on dark mode.
Get the Good Lock family of apps especially One Handed Operation Plus and these:

All Samsung's should be optimized. I use most of the Samsung apps instead of Google except for gmail and gmaps. Google play Services is normally temporarily disabled unless I need it as is Playstore. It increases speed and reduces battery usage.
Disable global power management and deal with power hogs on a case by case basis. Use app settings first and either Package Disabler or adb edits to take out the trash. Don't go too nuts, dependencies! Most of the small Samsung system apps should be left alone as many provide functionality and appearance enhancements for the UI, they use very little resources.
Disable Bixby and disable the cloud crap if you don't use it. Battery hogs. Get a V30 rated SD card like a Sandisk Extreme and use it as the data drive, all critical data goes here, then back that up.
A stock N10+ (Pie) tricked out as described.
Thank you for the Answer.
But thats not what I had in Mind. I want to get rid of all the Samsungness' Samsung is calling more home than Google. For privacy reasons, I wont use Phone that way.
Btw.
Its a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 with 8 Cores

Use a firewall to lock it down. Bixby is the worst in that respect, read its EULA for fun, it's nasty.
If it's using the Snapdragon chipset loading a custom rom probably isn't doable. If it's the Exynos chipset you can.
I used Android Debloater and AdAway. Now i'm feeling much better with the phone
Thx
