SCH-I925 Verizon Recovery? - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been all over XDA and the web looking for how to flash CWM recovery on my i925, so I can install CyanogenMod. Nothing seems to work. I have tried the how to listed here, http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_i925 both on Windows and Mac. Does anyone have any guilde, files that can help me acomplish this? Do I need to downgrade the firmware first? Currently on I925VRAMK1.

Im in the same boat as you same firmware ill keep looking if I get mine to work ill let you know bro.

Looking for the same here...i got root, but cant seem to find out if the bootloader can be unlocked somewhere. Want to install CM11 or 12...

Need help with custom recovery for SCH-R680

Hi folks,
I''ve been trying unsuccessfully to root a SCH-R680. My problem is that the stick recovery will always fail the signatures on any of the update.zip files I try. I suspect that the universal gingerbread root by Stoneboy Tony would work just fine on the SCH-R680 SInce it is just a re-badged Gio.
Can anyone give me some help / guidance on how to proceed? I've been putzing with tis for a couple weeks now with no success at all. Superoneclick,z4root,ginger-break all fail so I suspect I'll need to root this by flashing an update which of course is thwarted by the signature verification in the stock recovery...
Thanks!
Anyone have any thoughts on how to proceed?
Eventually I'll suceed and when I do I'll be sure to update my threads since the repp will probably get more usage now that it is available as a pre paid on USCC.

make a recovery.tar.md5
then
flash the recovery image via Odin Of course this link is from the Skyrocket forum, and we are talking Repp...so don't bother with the files from that post,
You can get the files (drivers/Odin/etc) for the r680 here.
...also I haven't noticed a stock recovery.img for this device floating around anywhere, so you might want to use romdump before you give this a shot. That way you have a backup of the original. If the prerooted kernel from the files post doesn't work, you might want to try one of the older builds of romdump that have root exploit included.
Good luck, and be sure to keep us informed on how things are progressing.
Okay I was a bit late on this one. Upon a little more digging I found this

[Q] About to unlock RAZR HD questions

I need to some help with making sure I am going the right way.
I've got a Razr HD - XT925 on the ROGERS/FIDO network.
The phone is rooted and I wanted to install Cyanogenmod on it. I used to have it on a Motorola Milestone and loved it. I would love to install Cyanogenmod on this phone as I liked the way you could tweak the phone more.
Android version is 4.1.2
Baseband - VANQUISH_U_BP_100700.220.65.33P
BUILD NUMBER - 9.8.2Q-8-XT925_VQL-12.2
SYSTEM VERSION - 98.21.12202.XT925.RCI.en.CA
Now I've had root for awhile now and ready to take the plunge. Here are the steps I think I should take.
1. Unlock with Motopocalyspe.
2. Install TWRP
3. Add Cyanogenmod img to SD Card.
4. Boot into recovery and install img file?
Given the type of phone I have will these steps be fine? I'd appreciate the help to know at least I am in the right direction. Thanks in advance!
i cant confirm your system version will let you unlock, but your steps are correct.
I've been to the Motorola site and it seems like I should be able to unlock. I would rather unlock using motopocalyspe though. Can anyone confirm?
Also regarding cyanogenmod, is it relatively stable? Camera works? Wireless? Which version is recommended?

Well since this was a question and answer forum on Razr HD I thought it would be helpful if anyone else had any experience with this phone version and if any hiccups occured. So I would know what to expect. Obviously I could just try and see what happens as you say but given that I would be voiding my warrenty when I do unlock, I just wanted to hear from others with this phone. Also from reading some posts on these forums I wouldn't say unlocking is without some risks as you say. But thanks for your insightful and helpful comment.

Hey
Yeah I used motochopper to root my phone. Didn't have any problems with that. I then tried motocopolyspe to unlock the phone and it went without a hitch. Motopocolypse does exactly what the official website would do. I was relieved that it was so painless. And the phone is working like a charm. No problems! I then installed TWRP. Didn't really have any problems with that other then getting a message that the image file was invalid. When I investigated the problem more I found for some reason the image file was not complete so I redownloaded it and it worked after that. I now have Cyanogenmod running on the phone since Saturday and so far things are running great and no crashes or resets! Going to play around it it more and let you know. Let me know if you need any help with the steps I took. So you have exactly same phone? On the Fido network?
hey!!!
yes sir...i have the exact phone as you and am on the rogers network. was relieved to see your post cuz i just received the phone last friday and am unfamiliar with motorola...have/had a samsung infuse and am much more familiar with the those rooting methods. i had asked on other threads about the process and have read up on rosenberg's tool that i have to root first then unlock but having read the ominous warnings on the moto site about unlocking i was hesitant to use that...i love the battery life on this thing but was concerned about the ease of customizing but if u say it worked for u i think i'll keep it and take the plunge lol. yeah that would be great if u could help out on the steps as well...
thx again!:good:

Install Rom - No computer

What's up guys. I'm running into a problem and I need help. Google searching is failing me, but I'm sure there is probably a blatantly obvious way to do this.
I'm trying to install a Cm12 lolipop rom on my stump rooted tmobile Lg g3, but I dont know what to do.
I need a custom recovery but all of the ones I'm finding need a computer. All I have is my phone and my wifi. So where can I find and how do I install a custom recovery to install the rom?
Thanks for any help.

Help rooting Samsung galaxy j3 (sm-J337a)

It seems everywhere I go there is no root for this phone (sm-J337a) it's an at&t phone. I used kingoroot, kingroot and basically any root out there. nothing has worked. So this seems that it has no root made for it yet? is there any possibility for someone to do this? Sorry, I'm not too good at rooting as a whole. But I've used Odin and things like that before.
there doesn't even seem to be CWM or TWRP for this phone either.
it's running Android 8.0 and was made in 2018.
Right?
I'm having the same issue. I can't figure out how to root mine either and I've got the same phone and carrier.

Details of your current ROM Please..?
Build number etc...
Hi all.. I know this thread is a little old but thought id add this.. As of this date Ive found no ROOT solution for the SM-J337A - AT&T variant either.. I have found a lot of other software and such and as soon as I can get it all sorted, cataloged, and uploaded to the cloud I will see about placing some links here somewhere to all of them.. Not sure how long it will be..Stay tuned...
I happen to inherit a J337A with a cracked screen but was working fine until I updated it and tryed ROOTing it.. Im still Playing with it to see if I can revive it.
Having issues finding a UB compatible Firmware set that I dont have to pay for.
Am needing "J337AUCSBBTI1" or maybe "J337AUCSABTE1" to see if I can bring it back to life.. I may end up pitching it tho...
My Device:: SM-J337A
FCC-ID : A3LSMJ337A
Samsung/j3toplteuc/j3toplteatt
CURRENTLY STUCK ON COMBINATION ROM : (8.0.0/R16NW/J337AUCUBATH1/user/release-keys)
BINARY/BOOTLOADER : UB

I can help you with that if you still need it. I have my j3 rooted with magisk, although there is no twrp or any custom recovery for that matter..
I can give you the exact files along with the patched magisk file and you'll have to flash it with patched odin and you should be good. Let me know.

Instead of sending a patched magisk file would you mind sending over the method you used to root? If you did what I think you did I'm very confused. The phone is OEM locked although this hasn't stopped others from accessing root before. If you can confirm you have the phone we have, the SM-J337A ATT then you can pull out the boot and recovery images using a root app. Then I could develop a working TWRP for our device. But ofc this is only possible if you explain how you went about rooting the device. Thanks in advance.

I have both SM-J337P/A and it works the same on both. I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to be oem unlocked? You mean greyed out? Or does it not show up at all or what? If I go into developer options I have the oem unlock option, which then allows me to unlock the bootloader. If yours is greyed out I saw a solution on XDA a long time ago, maybe a year ago. I'd have to look for it in my files, I know I saved it somewhere. Let me know what you meant by that and we can go from there

I do not have the option to OEM Unlock the phone period. It is not in my developer options unfortunately. If you do find something of that nature please do contact me. Also if you would like a TWRP for your device I'd be up to developing it, although I wouldn't be able to maintain bugs... All I need is the kernel and I can get it done.
Any updates on this?
