Hey guys,
New to the forum bit have been reading on here for a while now.
As from the thread title, you can see I have an S4 mini 3g (i9190)
Well yesterday I finally got the guts to root my phone and it was successful, using your guide on xda (thanks a lot) but now I'm looking into installing CM on my phone.
The thing is I am a little bit afraid that I might screw up the whole thing.
What is the risk of bricking/breaking my phone when trying to install a custom ROM?
I found the guide on xda on installing CM on my phone here on xda, just concerned I screw up.
And I also would like to know if ROM manager is any good at loading ROMs or is it more risky?
Thanks a lot
Hi
I recently bought a vibe x2 from a guy in aus who flashes them with a rom so they can run andriod. Long story short my brother updated the lenovo ui so its back to CU operating system (chinese) the guys overseas for the momeng and tried to walk me through reinstalling the rom he uses but i cannot get it to work. Im going to send it to him when he gets back.but during my trawling for lenovo drivers i came across this
]https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/phones/vibe-series/vibe-x2/downloads/DS101342
According to the guy its a complete ROW rom, it has everything youd need to use it but its beyond his skill level.
Ive looked around here a bit but have never seen domeone use this. Does anyone know how to??
(I am a complete noob by the way when it comes to this sort of thing, hardware i can do a little not software/programming, so layman terms appreciated )

I just ordered the A916 from Amazon and I want to start a forum for this device once i make a new kernel and rom. I have always wanted to do this but I always had a phone that there were already excellent roms for. So I should have my device by the middle of the month and I would like to get a head start but can't find any sources for it. I'm sure that where someone got the A850 stock roms should be able to direct me into the right place.
Emm..A916 and A850 is not...the same phone, you might end up bricking. And kernel for A850 is nearly impossible to even find.
This was sent from my fully-Xposed-modded Lenovo A850 rooted stock ROM via XDA mobile app.
I know that their not the same phone or chipset but was just trying to see how and where about you got your sources. There is not alot of info out on the internet right now about these devices. After I posted I found https://android.googlesource.com/kernel/mediatek/ but I don't think mine is listed or I'm looking at it wrong. I will just extract the kernel from the device and modify it from there.
These are the source codes for Android one devices

Rooted Lenovo A916
Just bought Lenovo A916, rooted it with kinguser app and removed a lot of junk.
You can hardly find anything left in Chinese on my phone, but I'm still looking for a good Rom.
port
can A916 be port with marshmalow?
I own a videocon VT85C tablet. Its roughly 5 to 6 years old. This thing has 1Gb RAM.
I have rooted this device thanks to XDA team, however, presently I would like to flash a custom ROM on it.
I have tried official TWRP app but my device isn't listed on it. Even tried with clockworkmod and flashify but couldn't find a working thing.
I don't want this device to get bricked.
So basically I wanted help regarding some discussion on this device. A help would be very much appreciated.
Yes I am a new registered user here, so might be getting some difficulty to adapt to this environment. Thank You. Please help
So recently I found an old Orange Roya in my drawer and thought that it's not that bad of a phone and maybe I could revived with a custom ROM as now it's running Kitkat (4.4.4). Now I've never flashed a custom ROM on my phone and I don't know much about that kind of stuff but I saw a video by Budget Builds where he managed to get Android 10 on a Samsung S2 so I thought as my phone has similar specs maybe a could do the same. So I searched far and wide and actually found an XDA thread about a custom ROM for my phone but than there are no instructions whatsoever in there, only a couple of dead links (Here it is, if that helps with anything: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...tel-pop2-ot-5042x-root-recovery-roms.3224875/ ). Besides that there was nothing at all in terms of any kind of ROM for this phone not only for android 10 but for any android it just seems that it's such a niche device that no one cares for it. So is that it? Is it just stuck running an ancient version of android basically acting as e-waste or is there anything I can do still to make it useful?
(Sorry for my English and lack of knowledge in terms of any of this but I really hope that something can be done to revive that phone.)
