[TOOL][1.6.1][3-07-16] Squabbi's Toolkit for the HTC One M9 - One (M9) Android Development

Code:
*** Disclaimer ***
I am not responsible for nuclear war, your dog going hungry , also not for damage done to your device.
Introduction
This is my third grand release of my own Toolkit for the HTC One M9 and its several variations of its kind. This is a nifty exe that allows the user to complete most of the common ADB and Fastboot commands from unlocking the bootloader to sideloading ZIP files. Also that it provides a sleek and modern interface to download and check for recovery updates.
Drivers for ADB and Fastboot are also easily downloaded and installed on startup so you are ready to go and rumble with your new M9. Included in this project is an auto-updater that allows you to get the latest release of the toolkit that may improve performance, squash bugs or fix a potential threat to your phone!

Haha! Nice gif! It's great to see you here as well!

As soon as I run the App the First time, it asks for Device type I select GSM.
It proceeds to download the Recoveries and adb.
i waits a few seconds the it just Bugs out. Log attached
I thought it was .net related so I updated it, it worked right after.

Thanx for all your work ..... this tool is great to have!! 1 thing though, when i fire it up first, it asks for phone type and I select AT&T. The download for recoveries took approximately 20 min. Is this normal? Now the second time I fired it up, it asked again what device and it is downloading the recoveries all over again. Is this normal for your tool? Is it something on my end?
Also, when I check for updates within your tool I get the following error....
wyUpdate exited prematurely
"The wyUpdate executable was not found: E:\......\......\M9Toolkit 1.0\Updater.exe"
The update exe is named wyUpdate.exe but the command is looking for Updater.exe.....
When I double click on the wyUpdate.exe I get "An error occurred" Here's the error...."Error trying to save file: Could not download "http://squabbi.square7.ch/toolkit/m9/updates/wyserver.wys" - a web page was returned from the web server."
Thanx in advance

Downloading the recoveries was faster before and it took ages for me as well. So I'll get back to you on that! But as for the updater issue, its my fault again. Change wyUpdate.exe to Updater.exe and it should work. In the next update I'll fix it up to use wyUpdate.
EDIT: I'm not sure why it asked you to download things again. Did you move the exe or rename the folder?
And please download the latest version please! The updater works on that one!

New Update! 1.0.1

I haven't seen Sneaky's zip for now, I'll take a look at it later. As for TWRP, it uses Capitan Throwbacks's TWRP: 2.8.6.4.

Swapped out recoveries for newer versions.
Swapped out ADB and Fastboot for a newer pack (thanks @LlabTooFeR ) - now this Tool is fully M9 compatible and even flashes large RUU.zips.

I got some updated htc_fastboot from someone to try last night and surprisingly, it was capable to read the zip and flash it until it reached the last internal Part 7 (RUU zips are packed with a bunch of sub-zips, usually 7 on the M9), then it failed and my phone was left in nirvana with nowhere to go to. Well. It only failed to flash dzata and boot.img luckily, which are the files in that last part. So I was able to reboot into bootloader and restore some backup until I could buy an SDCard today. Well, anyhow. The updated htc_fastboot was no good either then...
Today i asked around and found someone who knew someone who knew someone who gave him some very much updated htc_fastboot.

FUNNY, now I go to fire it up the 3rd time and it goes straight into the tool, no downloading anything......hmmmmm (I did not have my phone plugged in either time, even the 3rd time.....)
LOL, ok, now the next step "Get Unlock Token".....it reboots my phone into bootloader, creates the txt file for the token but it's blank above where it reads.."Please copy everything above this line!"
Under the Get Unlock Token button it reads....Status: Collecting token.....
Any suggestions?

Behind this tool : over 120 - 180 hours of work, 4200 lines of code and +600 uses by day !!!
Here is the list of the recoveries which are available :
This program require different prerequesties, depending of your device
- Wether you need an unlocked bootloader to flash the recovery partition (and fastboot drivers on your PC)
- Wether you need root access and usb debugging activated (if busybox is not installed, RecoverX will ask you the permission to install it).
To boot in bootloader mode :
- Tape "reboot bootloader" in terminal emulator.
- Or shutdown your device, hold "Volume +", "Volume -" and press power button.
To boot in recovery mode (depending of the device) :
- Tape "reboot recovery" in terminal emulator.
- Or shutdown your device, enter in bootloader mode and select "Recovery".
- Or press back button when the device start.
- Or press volume button when the device start.

Keep me informed if it's work !!!
Thanks in advance,
LEDelete
Have you changed the file charger? On ICS the false charger causes that the phone is in a bootloop wenn its switched off and a usb-charger connected. It couldn´t charge the battery.
Source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27140107&postcount=1
Sorry for this Question but i have seen that your charger file has an old timestamp. I´m not able to test it because my phone is in service center.
@mangdasire : yes, it's work on locked bootloader.
@skuhn1978 : No problem, but this tool isn't for ICS because I didn't find a recovery compatible with ICS so I think the file "charger" works on 2.3.
But you seem to be informed about a recovery for ICS, can you give the the link ??? And did you know if my file "charger" works on Android 2.3 ???
Thanks for your usefull post !!!
Re-rooted my device and tried this new version, now everything was OK.
Big Thanks

I´m not a developer, i have learned such things by search google and try and error.
The recovery you use CWM 5.0.2.7 should work in ICS only thing is you must replace the charger-file. If charger works in ICS and GB must someone try.
I saw it that the recovery works in ICS because i installed the APP http://goo.gl/XurYt before it was updated for ICS, only change the charger file and it worked perfectly. Now the APP is updated to ICS, you can install it it will create a folder naa... on your SDCARD with the CWM recovery files.

My comment would be this is basically a copy of what Matt does with his utilities which isnt too terrible, but you did not credit the real guy that did all the hard work.
CREDITS go to DAN R. for the exploits......writing a script to make life easier is rather simple.....sorry for the rain.
Oh, I did include credit to Dan where its due in the utility, such as the boot loader unlock exploits and the root exploits, but the rest I created myself approximately a day or two before matt released utility 1.20.

I understand you don't trust me, me being a "junior member" and all. In the original thread, which is linked at the bottom of the first post, I included the "source code" if that's what you want to call it, for the 1.0 batch file. Plus, since the entire utility is zipped, you can just extract the batch file, right click it, and press the edit button to read all the code. And the reason its asking you to upgrade your browser, is because I believe mega.co.nz (Kim Dotcom's new Megaupload) only works in chrome/Firefox, and maybe Safari?

Well, not only did this not remove the BL Unlock splash, it didn't flash TWRP either. The menu when I selected "4" to flash TWRP displayed the same information as option "3" to remove the BL Unlock splash and did nothing. Sorry bud, but your utility is a bust on 926, did you even test it out?
Of course he didn't test it out that's why this utility is useless sorry bud

Sorry but I tried using the utility and I wasn't able to unlock or to root my Motorola GSM Razr maxx HD with JB 4.1.2 android
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, I have bootloader locked so I'm not able to reflash the ROM, if I try to unlock the bootloader but the batch says I need rooted phone, I try to root the phone but batch says:
This program will give you root privelages.

Well, I tried to obtain the unlock code but no way, when I launch fastboot program it return me an error that there's no unlock code, even if my device should be among the unlocking device list...
Anyway, thank you for your answer
Worked for me...
Kinda odd that you've got all these people bashing your work, as you've obviously put a LOT of effort into it. I, for one, found it to be the simplest utility I've tried for the Razr Maxx HD (XT926 on 4.1.2), though one thing worth noting is that nowhere in THIS thread did I find information specifically pointing out that you must FIRST be in AP Fast Boot mode, which I suspect may have been the problem for some of the others here.
I ran the Ultra-Lite Version, and was able to root AND unlock with amazing simplicity. You must root BEFORE unlocking. I think each step took literally less than 5 minutes.
If you want this to work, you MUST do the following:
1) Power off your phone.
2) Hold down the Volume Down and Volume Up while holding down the Power button.
3) Eventually, a menu will appear, and you can let go of the buttons.
4) When this menu appears, press Volume down to scroll until you reach an option titled AP Fast boot, and press volume up to select.
5) Once you reach the AP fast boot section, just use the utility's built in features to reflash the ROM!

(Author = Mr. Parkinson)
I did stumble across one glitch in your program though. At one point, I started to unlock before rooting. At the confirmation screen, it asks if I want to continue, or cancel. Upon pressing cancel, it proceeded to attempt unlocking anyway. I had to manually abort the process. Other than that, I think your utility is fantastic.
This utility saved my phone, I was getting error when trying to flash, I used this tool on my razr maxx hd and now I am back in business.

Man i tried matt's utility and it just crashed after "press any key to continue".
this utility got me back to stock form cm 10.1

 Introduction
ADB and Fastboot are arguably two of the most indispensable tools used when working with Android devices. If you really want to modify, debug, and tweak along with their countless uses in rooting, and other procedures ADB and Fastboot are a must for any Android device owner. Typically if you want to install ADB and Fastboot you have to download and setup the Android SDK (If you really want to learn about Android Development I highly recommend downloading and installing the full Android SDK from here), but this can be unnecessary for people who just want to install ADB and Fastboot. To simply the process I created a windows installer that will install the latest version of ADB and Fastboot for you quickly and easily. The total installation of Minimal ADB and Fastboot is around 2 MB in size (Compared to the 90+ MB size of the Android SDK Tools, and 425+ MB size of the complete Android SDK) making it very lightweight.

How to Install
Prerequisites
Your device is plugged into your computer
You have USB Debugging enabled under Developer Options (Note: This may be listed as ADB Debugging on some ROM's)
You have installed the necessary drivers and your computer is recognizing your device
Download the Minimal ADB and Fastboot setup.exe from here
Follow the Installers instructions and select where you would like to install Minimal ADB and Fastboot too (For simplicity I choose to install it to the Desktop)
After you have chosen where to install Minimal ADB and Fastboot too select whether you would like to create a Start Menu Folder or not for the instalation
Once you have chosen where to install it to and if you want to create a Start Menu Folder select the install option
After the Installation Wizard has completed you can select to start Minimal ADB and Fastboot
You can also start Minimal ADB and Fastboot by navigating to the Start Menu Folder you choose to create during installation or the desktop shortcut you choose to create and selecting Minimal ADB and Fastboot
You should now see a command window open, with the command window open you can now issue ADB and Fastboot commands to your device
For more information on issuing commands to your device using ADB and Fastboot I would recommend taking a look at this guide on ADB and this guide on Fastboot.

Tools that Use Minimal ADB and Fastboot
[tool][app] 10 min adb/fastboot for htcm8 on win8 an win8.1 Thread By: Tigerstown
Note: If you would like to create a tool that uses Minimal ADB and Fastboot you are free to do so, all I ask is that you link to the original thread and give proper credit . Additionally if you would like your tool or guide that uses Minimal ADB and Fastboot to be added to this list please let me know.
Nice tool! I see you linked my guide... That's more the reason I should finish it haha!
Anyway this would be perfect for anyone looking for, as you rightly put it, the two most indispensable tools for android, and don't want anything but.
Don't know how possible or easy it is to implement but auto adding a path in environmental variables would be a great addition to your .exe
Either this or maybe adding instructions how to do so, anyway I'll be sure to link this, great work!

Thanks! I'll definitely think about adding in an environmental variable for the path to the .exe or as an option once the user setups the tool. I'll make it optional as some people don't like to mess with how they have there environmental path variable setup in Windows. Also thank you very much for linking it .

Download link was working fine for me for Google Drive but I have also mirrored the download in my Dropbox which can be downloaded from here .
This really helps me out since I have a couple of PCs located at different cities.
And when I want to flash the latest rom using ADB- or Fastboot-free computers, I don't have to download the whole Android SDK any more.
Big thanks to you,bro.

suggest that you put this down under "changelog" or "downloads" along with the md5 checksum. thanks for your work. will try it out soon.
Suggestion
Nice tool .
May I suggest that you modify the installer so that it adds a shortcut to the startmenu that opens the commandbox in the folder specified during installation?
After installation I mannually created a shortcut in the startmenu myself with this line:
Code:
%windir%\system32\cmd.exe /k "cd /d d:\ADB and Fastboot"
in the target.
Small, fast & simple installer needed for any power Android user

Edit 1:
Downloading now! Using google chrome I was able to translate mirror link page to English.
Edit 2:
Successfully flash the Rom via TWRP 2.8.6.0
As mentioned in the OP
- quicksettings pulldown can only be pulled once.
- adjusting brightness slider do nothing
- torch is working
- system apps seems to load faster than cm12.
One thing that caught up my attention is that simcard is not recognized. Have to goto settings/about tablet and found out that baseband version is unknown. Shame cause I really think this rom is more fluid compare to cm12.
I was unable to test user's app due to simcard unavailability, hence 3G as well, as I heavily dependent on it.
Also noticed that 1st & 2nd boot is ok but on 3rd boot is only showing blank screen ( omni bootlogo not showing ) have to longpress power button a couple of times until omni bootscreen appears.. P6200 user here.
Thanks again to this ROM, pretty much stable , no soft reboots. Battery is good, Minor issues i could see.
Video playback is still an issue i believe, even in YouTube.
Thanks again
If this rom could see the daylight I will really love it. It's much better than cm12 . Aside the baseband issue in p6200 really would have preferred this .

Have just installed latest version 20150518. Installation process without any problem. System is running stable.:good:
But SIM-card is not found. Tried several times.
It's no problem with CM12.1 rom. So I'm back to CM12.1.

I don't have problem showing the baseband with or without a sim card. Don't know why some p6200 can't. It's the same modem chip and I'm using the same lib for both too.
Clean flash, Wait for a few minutes, etc.
Can anyone confirm that?
If really can't, in a terminal emulator type:
su (already rooted of course)
rild
see if any error message
here is the result:
WARNING: linker: libsec-ril.so has text relocations. This is wasting memory and prevents security hardening. Please fix.
rm: /data/misc/radio/dlink: permission denied
it is also showing invalid IMEI and unknown baseband version.

The first one is just a warning because of the only old blob we have.
The second line means the daemon is not start. I'll look into it but I need someone with a p6200 to test for me.

I think I found the reason. There is a file missing. View attachment libsecril-client.zip
unzip the above zip will get the file libsecril-client.so. Copy the file to /system/lib with a root browser (eg. ES FileExplorer) will do.
Hoping it work for t869 too. t869 owners are welcome to test too.
Good luck!
PS. Will include it in the next build

unzip the above zip will get the file libsecril-client.so. Copy the file to /system/lib with a root browser (eg. ES FileExplorer) will do.
Hoping it work for t869 too. t869 owners are welcome to test too.
Good luck!

Was about to try that and alert you. Compared the lib folder for cm12.1 to that of omni and Realized the same missing libsecril-client.so and a couple of others. Looks like you got to it first. Anyway thinking of creating a flashable package for it. [emoji4] [emoji4] [emoji4]
OTG -Wifi???
@daniel_hk This may be stupid but i have to ask u.Does this kernel support USB Wifi with OTG?
Tried the lib files provided and a couple of others from cm12.1...................same old. Installed CM12.1 again and tried the rild check and got the same error as mentioned by PugeAko , though baseband is working with that rom.
Will be pulling the lib from stock MF1 rom for our dear p6200 soon, to see what comes of it.
Will post my findings soon.
Edit:
Checked radio directory in cm12.1 vrs OMni and some files are missing in Omni. Pulled that from cm12.1 but this constant black screen booting of Omni is making me frustrated at the moment. Too much black screen. Trying to see if I can get a boot.
Edit2:
Giving up. Don't know what it is but cannot endure this constant black screen any longer and time is not a luxury that I can afford now, its preventing me from helping figure out how to fix this baseband issue. Going back to the buggy cm12.1 rom. This rom is promising though.

Each USB Wifi probably have different chips which requires drives supplied by the manufacture. For it to work, it requires HAL drivers/firmwares too. Normally there is a CD or place to download. Window might have some driver for a few chips. Linux (Android) would be another story.
Normally, a kernel would only have the drivers for the on board chips.

cm12.1 is probably the wrong place to try. Omin for p6800 would be the wiser choice.
Anyway, I will try to get it work on the next build.

This is the support thread of PixelFlasher
(PixelFlasher is an open-source self contained GUI tool to facilitate Pixel phone device flashing/rooting/updating with extra features).
Note: This thread is meant for issues and problems faced in Google Pixel 6a devices, generic issues that are device agnostic should be discussed in the main thread.
For full details on where to download / usage and feature set of the tool, visit the main thread at XDA or the project's Github page.
Troubleshooting:
If you need support or assistance, the best way to get is by generating a support file from within PixelFlasher.
You can hit that big Support button on the main screen, or select it from the Help menu.
The generated support.zip file is sanitized (redacted) to keep your sensitive information (username device id ...) private.
This seems interesting. I was just looking into options to disable verity and or verification, root, and flash a custom kernel. It seems this application is an all in one. If all goes as planned, will my data and apps remain? Or am I basically starting all over. My bootloader is already unlocked. Thanks for sharing.

If you don't choose wipe data, or force in flash options, then you should keep your data.
I have my 6a connected with usb. I chose where my platform tools are in a directory but it doesnt find a device via adb. Yet cmd shows an adb connection.
USB debugging turned on?

Please be clear and explicit, exactly what you ran and what response you got, please also generate support.zip file from the help menu of PixelFlasher and post it here.
There is no reason for it not to be detected if you're command detects it.
New Release:
Aug 24, 2022 v3.6.0 release
When a device is selected, the Bootloader version is displayed. (Useful for Pixel 6* devices with ARB). Works in adb and fastboot modes.
Added a button to dump full device info (useful for troubleshooting). Works in adb and fastboot modes.
Improved tooltips.
Hello,
I have a pixel 6a on A12 rooted with Magisk.
I tried to upgrade to A13 with PixelFlasher (v3.6.0) with the option to flash all the slots and now I'm stuck in loop.
I tried to use fastboot command to flash again with A13 with no result. I also tried to change the current slot.
The weird thing is that I still have the message that said the bootloader is unlocked...
Any ideas?

Hmmm ...
I don't see any flashing logs in PixelFlasher, are you sure you flashed in PixelFlasher?
I see you started with PixelFlasher 3.4.0 and upgraded to 3.6.0; good
I see at first you did not have Android Platform Tools installed, and then had version 28.0.2-debian; bad, this is an old version, you should click on the blue link next to the Android Platform Tools and download the latest (don't install from package manager, those are usually old, just download the latest and unpack wherever you want, and point to it in PixelFlasher)
You started in adb mode (good), processed the firmware in PixelFlasher, but that is where you stopped, you did not attempt flashing in PixelFlasher (not sure what you did, but it would help to know)
On next attempt (one hour later) your device was in bootloader mode.
Then you tried disabling magisk, which didn't work because that feature requires adb mode, and your phone is stuck in fastboot mode.
You cannot create a patch file in fastboot mode, it needs to be in adb mode.
And please please don't dare to lock your bootloader, I see you attempted and then cancelled,
Code:
2022-09-02 18:25:29 Lock Bootloader
WARNING!!! WARNING!!! WARNING!!!
NEVER, EVER LOCK THE BOOTLOADER WITHOUT REVERTING
TO STOCK FIRMWARE OR YOUR PHONE WILL BE BRICKED!!!
Do you want to continue to Lock the device bootloader?
Press OK to continue or CANCEL to abort.
2022-09-02 18:25:42 User Pressed Cancel.
Aborting ...
If you lock your bootloader before fixing your device, you will be locked out forever (bricked)
So at this point what are your choice and how can you fix this?
1- get the latest Android Platform Tools
2- If PixelFlasher detects your device, check if it is in fastboot mode (f.b) or adb mode.
Select the firmware, process it, this will show the boot.img file
Select the boot.img file and choose keep data and hit Flash.
Yes I know, you will lose root because you're not flashing a patched boot.img, but you can always re-root if you recover your device.
Alternately, what happens if you select in PixelFlasher to reboot the device into System.
Does it reboot? and if it does, does it end up in adb mode of fastboot mode?
One other option you have is to flash OTA in sideload mode.
Report back, and make sure you capture all the manual steps you perform outside of PixelFlasher.
PixelFlasher logs would tell me everything you do in PixelFlasher, you can submit a new one after your operations.
Good luck
Thanks for your response and the detailed process.
I was fooled by the version of the package that was in 33...
By upgrading the Android Platform Tools to the latest version, I could update to Android 13.
Thanks a lot for the help and the reactivity!
New Release:
Sep 04, 2022 v3.7.0 release
New Feature: Install Magisk into the phone, PixelFlasher displays information about the latest available Magisk versions (stable, beta, canary, debug) and offers the choice to install a selection.
New Feature: Install compatible apk file onto the device from PixelFlasher menu.
Check Android Platform Tools version and warn if it is old.
Block flashing when stock flash_all.bat file is tampered with.
Don't bother with flashing if bootloader is locked.
More validations and exceptions handling.
Improved logging.
3.7.0 does not start for me on Windows 10. It never appears in my task list as running. 3.6.0 is working fine.

Thanks for reporting and sorry for your troubles.
Can you please open a command prompt, navigate to PixelFlasher 3.7.0 and run it from command prompt (just type PixelFlasher.exe), see if it displays an error in the console.
Can you also please generate a support.zip file using PixelFlasher 3.6.0 ?
It should capture the error PixelFlasher 3.7.0 encountered.
Thank you for the help. The issue has now been resolved after reboot.
Launching 3.7.0 via cli displayed no error message. I went to create support.zip with 3.6.0 and my computer BSODed. After reboot, 3.7.0 runs just fine. Apologies for the false alarm.

No need for apology, happy to hear that the issue now resolved.
Not sure if this should be of concern, but upgrading to today's Android release, I got this (very early on, while selecting the device and firmware):
Code:
2022-09-12 18:44:06 ERROR: Exception during Magisk modules processing
Exception: not enough values to unpack (expected 2, got 1)
Everything seemed to work fine, though.
