[Completed] My nandroid backup doesn't work? - XDA Assist

I made a nandroid backup. I wanted to restore it, but after I did my phone got stuck on the boot logo. I restored my phone again and tried to use titanium backup to get my app data back, but when I tired, titanium backup would just crash while I was restoring it (I got no error or anything.) Then I tired to use nandroid manager, but it would get stuck trying to restore certain apps. So do you have idea on what I can do to fix this?

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. Unfortunately, sometimes nandriods get corrupted. It sounds like that may have happened in your case. You're most likely going to have to start over with your device. But you didn't post any information on your device so I can't help you specifically. Can you provided that information?

Thanks for the reply! I have a Samsung Galaxy s4. I'm on Android 4.4.2. My model number is SGH-1337M

If your device is not booting into the os you'll most likely need to flash the stock firmware in Odin. If you're not sure how to do that you can get additional help here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2320430

I did. It wouldn't boot once I tired to restore my nandroid backup so I had to do a factory reset.

Flashing the stock firmware in odin is not the same as a factory reset. Odin puts the entire OS back on your device. Please use the link I gave you where experts on your device can help.

[Q] What is the safest way to Wipe/Factory Reset but still retain Stock Recovery?

I want to give my brother my Singapore XSP 7.7, one benefit of XSP is OTA upgrades in the event of a future Jelly Bean release. Technically he is not up to the jumping through hoops that most of us take for granted as part and parcel of Android ownership.
I understand that there are considerable and probably unacceptable risks involved in performing a factory reset via either the device itself or via the Android Stock Recovery.
The preferred method seems to be Root/CWM/Wipe.
The problem with this as I understand it, is that OTA will not complete if a custom Recovery is detected.
Is it possible to revert to Android Stock Recovery once CWM has been flashed?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Yes, it is possible.
If I have time tomorrow I'll whip up a flashable zip to flash android stock recovery from CWM. I can only test on my P6810, but should only need to check the updater-script for the correct partition Dev/block for P6800 model.
I have done this for my SGS 3, so method is proven.
Which model?

NEVER tick re-partition unless you have a correct PIT file. Many Samsung Users that have no idea have bricked their devices this way........
The OP had never indicated he wanted to also lose root, so using Odin will certainly do that.........

Although untested on my device (P6810), this should work for P6800. After flash, reboot recovery to see the change.
If you want to remove root, SuperUser app & BusyBox - flash the Uninstaller immediately BEFORE the stock recovery.
This process will take just a couple of seconds
You can test with this excellent app: Root Validator
No problem, sometimes it's nice to go that extra step when (trying) to be helpful
Let us know how you went.
Cheers,

SU-BusyBox_Uninstaller.zip
CWM_P6800_Stock_Recovery.zip
.
I live in London and my brother in Dublin so my ability to help him troubleshoot is restricted.
My intention is to give him as trouble free an experience as possible. To that end then removing Root is probably prudent. So, thank you again.

Thank you for the suggestion but, on account of my basic knowledge level, messing with partitions scares me.
I don't know what your ps means but I assume it is not intended for me.

In preparation, I decided to re-flash with the stock ROM so as to have the o/s like new. I used Mobile Odin Pro for this.
It was beyond my expectation but Mobile Odin Pro also reverted the Recovery to Stock 3e. Leaving just the UnRoot to be done. There are a few Root dependent apps that I want to check out beforehand.
I have archived your files and this will allow me greater freedom for future mods. Not just for my brother's 7.7 but also my own.
The fact that I can change to CWM Recovery and also obtain Root and then return to Stock is very liberating.
Thanks for the heads up on Root Validator.

U8800Pro WIFI & IMEI Problem

Hello, I use is a Huawei U8800Pro and I am currently using CM11 4.4.4 and TWRP 2.7.1.0
Before switching to CM11, I was using the official ICS rom 4.0.3 (B928) which I downloaded from their website.
My WiFi was working perfectly before I flashed ICS 4.0.3 after that, wifi stopped working. I thought flashing CM11 would resolve the issue but it didn't. I later on realized the IMEI of my phone has the last 6 digits wrong.
I also tried flashing stock ROM just the way I used to and it failed.
I am a novice at this and I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me.
Thank you.

your imie should be on the box the phone came in and i think its under the battery too, on phones with removable battery.

No, os. So you wiped the entire device? You'll have to use adb to put a rom on or side load it.

See rootSU's signature above. He has fine guides linked there. But how do you know you have no os if your data is intact? Do you have a rom zip on your device you can flash in twrp? I assume you don't have a nandroid or you would have tried that already.

i know because it tells me i dont. i can see my data in the twrp file manager.if i had a rom zip installed i wouldnt have posted this topic. thanks for your help
So then download a ROM and push it to your phone so you can then flash it via recovery.
Please try to keep your help requests limited to 1 thread. When you start cross posting , things can get messy

Htc One SV no os installed

Hi everyone.
A few days ago I accidentally deleted Android on my phone and my backup is gone.
If someone can help me how to get my Android back i would be very grateful to him
You'll probably have to flash a recovery and a custom (or stock if you can find one) ROM. How did you manage to completely delete Android? What exactly do you mean by this?

How can i reflash my phone?

Hi thank you for using XDA Assist. I'd flash the stock firmware in Odin and start over. Go to sammobile.com for the firmware.
