[Q] t-mobile wifi hotspot use - T-Mobile LG G2

I have unlimited data, but only 5gb hotspot through T-Mobile. I ihave an lg g2 that is rooted. Does anyone know how to use the unlimited data plan for the hotspot abiltiy instead of the 5 gb? I am at my limit and it is now blocked for use until next month. I am ultimately trying to connect my ps3 to it for netflix and gaming. Thank you!

[Q] Grandfather Tethering

I search the site for answers for this question but, unable to find the answers. I currently have a Motorolla Droid 3 on the big V which I was able set up to use my grandfathered unlimited data plan to tether to my Laptop when I was unable to use my wifi. I would like to up grade to a Samsung Galaxy 4 and I was wondering if I would be able to accomplish the same situation again? I do not want to pay an additional $30 for a new upgrade plan in addition to my phone's data plan - Ideas?
Thank You

[Q] WiFi Tether on Tmobile (going over the 2.5 gb limit)

Hi there,
I have a $70 T-Mobile Unlimited Plan which includes 2.5 GB wifi tether hotspot feature.
My question is, when i was on Sprint (Rooted ROM) I was able to use the built in wifi tether feature without any limitations.
It appears on the nexus 5 (android kit kat) that the carriers now have the ability to truly monitor this useage.
Would i be able to get around it by using a 3rd party tethering app?
Anyone else had success in going over the 2.5gb wifi hotspot allowed?
It makes no sense to me why me using my data on my nexus 5 vs. tethering and using my nexus 7 should be limited.
Thanks in advance,
RR

I have the same plan...you might also have to change your apn settings to ipv4, at least I had to. btw, i'm just south of riverside, ca and although my lte speeds are over 20 mbs down, if I change the preferred network settings to hspa (3g?) instead of lte, I can stream with little to no buffering.

This should help. Read the thread and figure it out.
You will not get around the limit using a third party app (if you want it to work over wifi). It may not make any sense to you, but to providers it does because they can make money. I agree, it's dumb that they want to charge more to share a data plan you already use, but it's us vs them and they're are big wireless companies... so I don't think our complaints will go very far.
You should be happy that you do have the 2.5GB because it can be very handy in a pinch when you need to do something on laptop or tablet but no wifi available or because the available network is just straight up garbage.
But since you say you're using your tablet, have you tried bluetooth vpn with PDAnet? I used to do that for my tablet. It's not the greatest because some apps wont recognize the bluetooth as you have a "internet connection" but its worth a try. I havent used it in a while as I really dont tether much these days so I'm not sure how good it is these days.
Do this and u should be ok...no tethering limits.
how do you get to the pages shown in the thumbnails

As a new member to the family of android devices, may i ask how you made your way to that cmd page, yes i know im a noob
Install android terminal from play store open it and execute that...oh you gotta be rooted for this to work.
Not Working
This did not bypass hotspot limits on Nexus 5 "tether_dun_required". I can use bluetooth to tether.
Can anyone confirm this works? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.snclab.wifitetherrouter

[Completed] [Q] Wifi Hotspot hack charges for sprint?

Okay, so I have sprint with unlimited data and I was wondering if that means I have unlimited data to use for Hotspot? Is there a limit to how much I should use or does that vary on plans?
Thank you!

you have to pay an additional charge to use the hotspot (without using one of the exploits posted here on XDA). I've successfully ran a disabled carrier check to use wifi tethering without paying for years without any issues. If you have an unlimited data plan, you will have unlimited data on your tethering, at least when using the exploit method. Keep in mind that in most cases "unlimited" really means: First X GB at LTE speeds and everything past that is at 3G speeds

I mostly asked for piece of mind. I use it to stream Netflix on my ps4 and download updates and games which would use tons of data. Didn't want to see a huge bill at the end of the month. Btw, I am using the wifi Hotspot hack for the galaxy 6 edge.

Unlimited Hotspot/tethering

Hey guys, Im new here and my search for an answer let me to you for help. so here goes...
As you probably know by now, Verizon has released an unlimited plan, catch is after 10 gigs of hotspot you are knocked
back to 3g for further hotspoting during the billing cycle, I need a way around this as LTE is my soul source of high speed
intenet access as cable isn't available in my area.
I know about the pdanet+ app and tethering it to a laptop via cable allows for hiding the tether usage from the carrier,
does this still work? If so once its hooked up can I use my laptop like a router for other devises in the house and still be
masking the tether usage?
Or perhaps there is a simpler way now? Im open to all suggestions, BTW right now I'm on a iPhone but have come to the
conclusion if Im going to make this work I need to switch to a android (probably a galaxy s7 edge)
Tommy
Unfortunately on Verizon they have any way to do just gotta blocked. But if you really want unlimited data and Hotspot you have two options.
T-Mobile One plan
AT&T Unlimited Data Plan** (https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-s7-edge/how-to/att-mobile-hotspot-glitch-t3383680)
**Only works for Galaxy S7 Edge AT&T branded on 6.0.1 not 7.0
I did the AT&T Unlimited Data Plan. Screenshots attached. ?
These are the only ways that I can personally confirm.

Verizon hotspot

Hi, I currently have a rooted Google Pixel 2 XL and a Verizon plan without a hotspot plan. With root I'm able to use my hotspot and I love that. I'm considering updating my plan with Verizon because it's cheaper. What I'm wondering if anyone knows is if the new plan contains a certain amount of hotspot data, does my phone being rooted bypass the limit on that plan and also the throttling that will occur after a certain data amount is used? Thanks for any help regarding this.
