Hey guys and gals so i have a ZTE Z730 t-mobile i successfully rooted the phone and it also installed CWM v6.0.5. Here's my issue other than im a complete newbie, i downloaded rom MGR and it was not compatible with that version of CWM. Im guessing that there arent any custom roms out for this yet so my question is can i use a different recovery so i can flash custom roms if so what and where can i find these like i said im just starting out and want to learn all that is possible about flashing roms and such for android not sure where to start i really dont want to use the same root method because of the fact that it automatically puts the cwm v6.0.5.0 on it and i cant do anything with it or can i ? well i hope someone can reach out and point me in the rite direction it would be greatly appreciated and thank you ahead of time be well billy (a desperate newbie).
Just a side note that rooted z730 i had i tried to uninstall the cwm and failed miserably so that phone lies in the newbie android user graveyard i actually just purchased another today.:fingers-crossed:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Unfortunately if there are no ROMs available for your device no amount of changing recovery will be able to fix that. You can only flash ROMs that were developed for your device, and if none of those actually exist, you're fresh out of luck. But, if you have root you can still customise your stock ROM a bit by using Xposed Framework:
Xposed - General info, versions & changelog
And you'll find an entire section of XDA dedicated to compatible Xposed Framework modules:
Xposed Framework Modules
So I'd suggest you do some looking around there and start customising your device.
Good luck!
Very helpful a huge thank you

Hey everyone!
So I haven't Rooted or put Xposed on a phone in quite some time, same goes for TWRP.
I'm on Stock Marshmallow right now.... the PF4 version and I was wondering if it was possible to get all 3 or do I have to downgrade to 5.1.1 ?
Wondering if anyone could please assist me with this.
I'll even donate some money to someone if they are interested in helping me out because I honestly don't want to mess my phone up.
Any help at all is much appreciated! Send me a PM if interested! or email me.... [email protected]

You can root with the latest cf auto root, and use twrp 3.0.2, make sure oem unlock and usb debug is on, and flash each of them in odin, any problems, just ask, im trying to figure out xposed right now
Xposed requires a specially modified version for Samsung roms now. Just google Xposed for Samsung and you should find the xda page. When there, you will find downloads at the bottom of the page or a lind to android file host. Look for the Xposed framework sdk 23 version latest and get the uninstaller also just in case something doesn't work properly. For me I sometimes lose nfc.

I have been away from the game a little while and decided to come back. I would like to start dev for android i am working on building a custom Rom now for a friend of mine for the Nexus 6p. I am by no means a newbie to android but nor am i a pro. So here are my questions.
1. I would like to install a different launcher in the Rom and need help finding where it goes i already have the apk for the launcher?
2. I am wondering is there a way to pre install Xposed framwork into a rom before flashing to phone if so a Point in the right thread or info would be greatly appreciated.
At any rate I thank any and all for any help and look forward to being back in the XDA community.
Good evening everyone sirs of this fine forum!
So, after a couple of year with iXXXXe (wasn't my choice), I'm now back to Android.
I just bought an Honor 6x, after months of reading online.
I haven't really started to use it yet, that's because I'm a little paranoid.
As you can see in my signature below, I used to have a MOTO G really boosted up, almost reaching perfection.
I like to be in control of everything in my phone before starting to use it.
Here come my questions:
- i installed BETA app by Honor, but at the moment I can't try Nougat, you know why?
- is it useful to unlock the bootloader and root this phone? I've read there are not many ROMS at the moment. What do you think? What would I achieve unlocking the bootloader and rooting?
- Xposed framework and Gravity app are still up? Are they working with my device?
- I really like to have a "clean" phone, like stock: no preinstalled apps, no fancy UI, just the basic. What would you suggest me to do?
- In the end, all said: should I use this Honor "out of the box", or is it worth to spend some time messing with it?
I really looking forward your answers, mates!
Sorry, but I've been outside the world for the past 2 years, I feel like I lost some things in the way.
Bye <3

I think at this moment its better to use it out of the box as u can uninstall and deactivate all apps u dont need. With root you will not get much new roms and features but only root useful apps such as ad blocker and such.
I would recommend to use it out if the box too, I had installed the nougat update and rooted it for AdAway but now I am back on the latest official update without root and it works fine although I miss my ad blocker

Thank you for your reply.
So for the moment I'm keeping it stock. I'm still on MM, waiting to upgrade to Nougat as soon as I can.
@MadMurl0c , why did you go back to official? What about rooting after upgrading to N and using ad blocker with the latest official?
I tried to install Viper4Android but i accidently deleted audio_effects.conf so I decided to go back to stock rom and wait until huawei releases the official Android 7 build. (Another reason was the Bootloader unlocked warning on boot) AdAway worked fine but I don't have anything else about stock to complain about. The only thing that annoys me is that you can't delete system apps without root but you can atleast disable most of them. I hope that answered your Question

Yes, thank you!
For adaway no root substitute -
Adguard.
I know that non-AOSP ROMs shouldn't be supported, but I want and try to use it, but I'm scared to cause harm to the phone by doing so... Anyone tried it just to ensure if it's ok or not? I'm curious.
Oh and a side note: I'm running on Marshmallow.
Would appreciate if you answered. Have a good day.
