Strange problem, only recently: Open up phone, find that background process like "smart keep screen on," "2-Battery," and "Tasker!!" are no longer running. Reboot. Still not there. Have to start them all manually.
Anybody else encounter this? Running 4.4.4 Omni ROM but have been using this for months. Problem only last week or so. Maybe from Google's wonderful Play Services upgrades?
Who knows?

Hello
Ever since the Google Play Services update from a week or so ago I get this continuous notification. Does anyone know how to stop it? I updated to the latest G.P.S. from a few days ago and it still there. I do not have Wear installed or a AW device (yet) and Bluetooth is always off. It can't be dismissed and clicking it doesn't nothing.
Anyone else getting this?
bump
anyone else has gotten this message pop up?
I'm having this problem as well. I previously had a moto 360 which I sold and I then uninstalled the app. Probably around the same time as you, I started getting the notification (I noticed it coincided with a google play services update as well) but this was long after I had uninstalled the android wear app.
I can't turn off bluetooth, otherwise my pebble would be useless, so that isn't a solution for me (though it sounds like that doesn't work anyway). Long pressing on the notification to bring up app info tells me the Google Play services is the app responsible for the notification. Rebooting the phone gets rid of the notification temporarily but it always seems to come back.
I've just tried clearing the cache for g p s and rebooted so I will have to wait and see if it comes back.
A search of the android wear subreddit shows three people there have had the same issue so that makes 5 of us (or 4 if you are one of them), but no solution.
It's hard to tell how much it has impacted my battery but google play services is right at the top of the list for battery usage on my phone lately
Prior to 5.1.1, every time the phone was idle for a short period of time the lock screen would appear and, when I was home, SmartLock left it unlocked, most of the time, but it always appeared. Since upgrading to 5.1.1, the lock screen rarely appears anymore and, when I’m away from home, since the lock screen rarely appears anymore, my phone is often unlocked and unlocked without a lock screen and having my phone unlocked is a big security issue . I don’t know if this is related to 5.1.1 or, perhaps, a recent Google Play Services update (since Google Play Services is responsible for so many things nowadays, I assume it’s suspect).
Anyone else have this issue/know of a possible fix? Thanks.
Bump. Is no one else having this issue? The lock screen for everyone works perfectly on 5.1.1?
Yes, since 2 weeks ago. Any solution?
None that I know of—I still have the problem.
Just chiming in to say this issue appears to be largely resolved since Android 6.0.

Resolved? Apparently not that largely. Such issue started 24 hours ago on my 6.0.1 device. Unable to lock screen despite pattern (or whatever chosen) is correctly set. No "smart lock" option is used, BTW; Though lock screen often appears but only when shutting down and restart the phone, not by rebooting it. Looked exhaustively for a common fix, but everyone suggests the same old, clear caches, credentials and device administrator thing. That is NOT working here. Safe mode says nothing's wrong with apps causing the flaw either. Yes, I'm rooted, on Xposed and all that stuff, as always. Probably it is related somehow; however, issue has never ever showed on any other device I had, and I had two previous on 6.0.1 as well. If anyone has a different hint on the subject, well it'll be well appreciated.

Hi all, I have been facing a really weird problem for the past few weeks. Sometimes all of a sudden, my phone screen completely turns black, and the buttons (as well as the alert slider) stop responding. There is no indication whatsoever that it is NOT switched off. However when I try calling it from another phone, ring can be heard as if my phone is working fine. I don't understand where the problem lies. Any suggestions are welcome.
I am rooted with Magisk 19.3, Riru-EdXposed 0.4.5.1 Sandhook, Riru-Core v19.5.
Edit: Android Pie. OOS 9.5.10.GM21AA
I had this problem recently when accessing certain apks. Reflashing the firmware sorted it for me.
no root same problem to me after I update from Android 9 to Android 10

Thanks I will try doing that.
Same problem here when opening quite a few apps. Issue didn't start until I updated to Android 10 (and rooted), on a converted T-Mobile variant. Wonder if that is the source of our problem. I'm sorely tempted to use the MSM tool and go back on TMO's Android 9 (and pray for a official update to 10). Unless someone can find a solution to this, rebooting the phone every time I want to open certain apps is a real pain.

It definitely is a A10 issue as I too have started to have this issue when opening games and ram extensive apps. A workaround is to open the game or app in split screen mode and once the app has started you can switch back to fullscreen mode or start the app from recents. That has worked for me 100% of the time. The 10.0.1 update seemed to make it worse because you have to reboot the phone to escape the black screen were as at first you could use gestures to escape the app.

Good idea using split screen, I'll have to start doing that for the time being. I moved over to Open Beta 3 and the issue is still there and worst as with 10.0.1. Hopefully OnePlus can nail this bug soon. It's turning a otherwise amazing phone into a headache.
I have the same problem. Running 10.0 rooted. For me, this has only happened when opening Youtube Vanced. One clever solution is to enable "Quickly turn on camera" and doublepress power if this happens. This launches camera and returns the screen to normal.

Experiencing this too, it does seem to be related to certain .apks, how bizarre is that? Really don't want to re-flash as I am encrypted... Can you dirty-flash with an encrypted system and not loose any data?

I reflashed through TWRP and all data was fine. I'm encrypted too.
But it goes without saying, make sure you do a backup before flashing anything
Hi,
after updating my HTC U11 to the official HTC Android Pie Europe release, so far the only real problem i found is, that for some reason the commute notification of google maps are now shown as a notification within a notification. Before the updated they worked fine. If you don´t know what that is supposed to mean, see here:
imgur.com/SQ27lSW
So far that only happens to the commute notifications. Pressing on either of the settings buttons only leads to the commute settings where i can disable the notification completly, which is not what i want.
Before the update it was only one notification with the map in a size where you could actually see something straight from the notification.
I already tried deactivating the function and activating it a few days later withouth any difference. I also tried clearing the cache and data, as it is set as a system app so that is the closest i could get to an uninstall.
As far as i know, i can´t really make a useful bug report through the app itself, as it is a notification i can hardyl make a screenshot of with the integrated bug report tool.
I also tried looking at the notification logs, but could´t see anything out of the ordinary with my simple knowledge of it: imgur.com/Fk9U0dk
After living with this "problem" for the last few months, I wanted to see if someone had the same problem and maybe found a solution in the mean time, which lead me here in the hope of finding such an answer
Thanks in advance for your help
Hi.
Last week I decided to reflash my U11, it's a Europe Pie version too, aka HTC__034. I had several bugs, with apps crashing like Google Assistant, the Dialer (unable to type a number or letter) and others. Flashing the RUU went fine and I got rid of those bugs, and even got better SOT than before (from 4 to 5 hours).
Reading your message, I just realized that I also got rid of another bug I had with the Google Phone dialer app. It also had such nested notifications when I received a call. Now it works fine.
So maybe flashing the RUU could solve your problem.
Hi kurtschmeichel,
thanks for the quick answer.
From what i read, flashing the RUU also clears all your data and settings, or did I get that wrong? As this is currently the only "problem" I have, I think I will not take this route as this entails a lot of reconfiguring.
Yes your phone will be "like new". You have to backup ALL your data before flashing a RUU.
This isn't my phone. It's my wife's. Her phone was working fine until a couple of hours ago. Now she has five apps that are crashing. There is an install notification in the notification area. When she taps it, it goes nowhere. Clear and swipe don't get rid of it. She goes into the update area and checks for an update and there were no updates available. Nothing was done to the phone before this all started happening. It was just sitting on a table.
I know nothing about these phone and how they work but I know that you all do. She's tried restarting the phone multiple times and it's made no difference. She's also uninstalled and reinstalled the apps. Any suggestions on how I might help her out?
Actually, we might have found and fixed the issue.
PSA: If your Android apps keep crashing, update 'WebView' and Chrome [Permanent fix]
Android users seeing constant app crashing can update the Android System WebView component and Google Chrome to fix the problem...
