How can you flash custom recovery without unlocking your bootloader?
May be it's already unlocked. In the adb mode type
Adb reboot bootloader

I used MTK Droid tools to Install CWM Recovery. I Didn't use Rom Manager. If I use adb reboot bootloader from my pc in fastboot terminal it can find my device but if I use that command it simply reboots the phone I have tried it several times it doesn't work. Plzz help!!

[Q] P3100 Unlock Bootloader, FastBoot, Modes

I apologize if I have understood this all incorrectly, but kindly clarify the following for me.
What I have already done:
1. Installed CWM (ClockWorkMod) on the tablet: Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 using Odin
2. Installed the rooting zip file from external sd
3. Made a backup image on an external sd
What I need to do:
1. Flash a custom ROM onto the device from my PC using fastboot
Errors:
1. Fastboot devices returns nothing (absolutely no response... please find the attached pic)
2. Adb reboot bootloader - just reboots the OS (not in fastboot)
3. Fastboot oem unlock says waiting for device endlessly.
My Queries:
1.I have a recovery mode and download mode (aka odin mode). Is either of them the FASTBOOT mode or is fastboot something completely different. If so how to get into FASTBOOT mode??
I read I have to get a USB icon and a Fastboot mode display on screen. I do not.
2. Why is my device not showing under fastboot devices (on download mode, neither show the device.), but adb devices shows the device under recovery mode
3. Is it possible to flash a ROM using fastboot if I have CWM installed. Or does CWM disable fastboot?
4. Also does this device have a Fastboot mode at all? If yes how to get into Fastboot mode??
From what I've read here, there is no fastboot mode on the Tabs.

load it on your external sdcard, boot into cwm and do a fullwipe/factory reset then install the zip from sdcard. poof, rom installed
to boot into cwm, turn off the tablet.
press and hold power and volume down (the one closes to power button) once the samsung tablet logo appears let go of power and continue holding vol down until cwm appears (this can take a couple minutes)
Thanks then!

Nexus 5 doesnt get into recovery mode - just restarts

hi
i am trying to get into recovery mode. when select recovery mode in bootloader and press power button it just restarts, doesnt get into recovery mode.
how to correct it
You could try the following: install the app Quick Boot (Reboot) from Google Play. Start the app and tap on Recovery. Hope this helps.
I know this doesn't really solve your problem, it's just a workaround.

What recovery are you on? stock or custom?
If custom try to flash it a second time in fastboot, then fastboot reboot-bootloader and then fastboot reboot-recovery

[Q] How to unlock Lenovo A1000 bootloader?

How to enter into fastboot mode? I am not able to figure out.
Tried - adb reboot bootloader, adb reboot-bootloader, adb reboot fastboot
None of them worked, However "adb reboot recovery" opens it in recovery mode. I have installed Lenovo Le Tools also. Also tried to open it by pressing -
Vol down + Power (opens factory mode)
Vol up + Power (opens recovery mode)
Note - I have learnt that MediaTek devices doesn't have fastboot mode. I am trying to flash Ubuntu Mobile on my tab which first requires "OEM unlock" which can be done in fastboot mode but if it doesn't have fastboot mode then what's the alternative way?
Please help!

Recovery option
Volume down + power key
Volume up + power key is for fastboot download mode.
Check it.
Make sure your bootloader should be unlocked.
If not you have no access to your phone
You have to flash stock rom using ets tool then unlock bootloader for access your phone.
Good luck

Did you unlocked your boot loader first? Or not? Before installing twrp. Tell me.

Phone can't enter bootloader

Hello.
I have bricked my phone(I edited build.prop). Now it can only enter recovery mode. I can access the phone by using adb, but I can't get root access in shell(but my phone is rooted), it just says connection to ui timed out, so I can't replace build.prop. I wanted to flash custom recovery on my phone, but when I reboot in bootloader mode using adb, phone just stuck at the logo(and when I tried to reboot in fastboot mode, the same thing happened, but at this time logo just disappeared after some time). After trying to enter fastboot or bootloader adb don't see the device. I have installed all drivers, enabled usb debugging(just in case), Phone model is Micromax Canvas Elanza 2(or Micromax Canvas A121).
So, my questions are:
How can I get root access in adb shell?
How can I load my phone in bootloader/fastboot?
And is there any another way to unbrick this device?
P.S. Sorry for my English and thanks in advance.
from recovery mode there should be a option "reboot to bootlader" this will bring you in download mode. while in download mode install the drivers (these are different from adb devices) and make sure "fastboot devices" does recognize the phone. now you can boot into custom recovery without flashing it "fastboot boot recovery.img". once in custom recovery again install drivers and then check "adb devices" while in custom recovery. "adb shell" will give you root access while in custom recovery
