Keep up with the good job! :good: I just ordered one from Gearbest as well and hope to receive it soon. Since this is my 1st time buying and using a Chinese brand phone so I'm not so sure what to expect (except the fact that Chinese products in general do not have good reputation). Glad that there're a detailed review for this phone.

Thanks! I'm glad that you are making the jump into the chinese phone market. So far the only thing I haven't had enough time to test is the battery life, I sincerely hope that it is good. If it is, this will be an amazing phone.

By the way, do you know any case that will fit the M52, I'm not talking about the OEM flip case, just a normal back cover? Thanks.

Hey guys, I finally completed my review of the Mlais M52 Red Note, check it out in the first post!
Hi, i just ask about screen protector size in your writen review. I ask because i want to know if a termpered glass from a xiaomi note or other models could fit the entire screen. I dont know the size in MM, so it could be very helpful for many buyers to get this measures.
thank you very much.

Oh I see, I'll measure my screen and get back to you.
Does anyone know if and where I could find M52's ROM? I'm afraid I've already broken mine.
How you did it? Try a factory reset?

My screen measurements including the bezel (or the part where you would put a screen protector or tempered glass over) is almost exactly:
150.5mm Tall
74.8mm Wide
Rounded edges on all 4 corners of the screen with radius 1.5mm.
Hope this helps.

I rooted mine using Kingo (nothing wrong until this point), but then I removed some system apps (Gallery/Browser/etc, since I had alternatives to them), and on the next restart, System UI crashed. Factory reset did not solve the problem, hence my need for the ROM. I've checked NeedRom, already, but thank you, anyway.

Aren't they the type where the phone is held by adhesive? Are they any good -can phone be removed and replaced, does adhesive mark the phone? I've gone with the flipcover, not too keen on the window ( no protection ), but as the m52 looks pretty bulky already, it looks about as slim as it's going to get. One of the aliexpress sellers (not sunsky )has the flipcover , and their product code is DG2014, so you might be able to check cases for that, though it doesn't make complete sense as DG2014 isn't as thick as m52

About size, its almost the same as alcatel pop c9, my girlfriend has it, with a flip cover also. The c9 without a flipcase is fine, but is bulky with it,

Recently purchased the red, blue, & white covers. At this price you are not going to get the same quality control as you would with an original, but great if you want to preserve your original for re-sale.

well its really feels kinda cheap and microsd card is killing me (there is just an open slot) and its gets an error every ~30min, microsd worked fine in galaxy s3 before...
but well, thats the downside, the rest is kinda nice and the price is killing, so yeah !
Also got it from Amazon.de, I guess they received an early batch and started shipping immediately. I'm quite happy with it, it's feels okay (plastic but nice), is fast and runs smoothly. Modifications by Asus are few and usually well made - except for a permanent button in the left hand corner that lets you used floating apps because you can't remove it even if you don't like using such apps
As for the sd card, I had the same problem two days ago but it stopped. Probably it just was inserted slightly askew. The missing cover for it is a bit of a design flaw but a short piece of transparent duct tape can fix that (It's a 149 € device after all)
Since Amazon started shipping them early, I had hoped someone had found a way to root them already, which is the only thing that bugs me at the moment. Hopefully someone will hack it soon. I expect there will be quite a demand for those devices since the Nexus 7.2 is still not out and this is basically a Nexus 7 with better hardware and SD card support anyway

Wish I could order one here in the U.S. I've been waiting ever since they announced this thing!
Worth the price
Hi guys,
I already got it and tested it now quite a while. Yeah it feels a bit cheap but it certainly is! I will use it for surfing on the couch and reading book, comics etc. so it doesn't really bother. And that's what Asus wanted with this little thingy.
The screen looks pretty much like SGS2 quality screen, of course a bit bigger.
The Asus android is.. well.. ok i guess ^^. It will give you constantly show you a symbol in the upper bar when you install a SDcard and the wifi direct did only work a single time..
I will use other roms if they're available i think. I already read about some devices with GPS failure or SDcard slot failure, so i think the price does come with low quality. But you can change it as long as you get a working one^^.
The case is completely ok. Many described it as slippy because it's plastic. Hmja it is, but if you don't have too sweaty hands it's not worse than a iPhone 3G or so.
Mine has a bit of an sharp edge around the upper side. well..
So for 150 € its really okay. But with new roms it would be even better, i am sure.
Hey guys. I just got the tablet and it is great. I have a question about screen-protectors.
They are very few and very expensive screen protectors that are specified for Memo pad HD 7. My question is: are there other(cheaper) screen protectors that will fit the screen area of the tablet? It will be a temporally solution until cheap china-made screen-protectors hit the market.

They are mostly expensive because they are also non-reflective. You could try buying one made for the predecessor (like this one) and cut away parts that don't fit.
Thank you for the advice. I will order some from eBay.
btw do you use any type of case on your tablet? And what are your thoughts on available cases for the Memo pad HD 7?

I ordered those (made for Nexus 7):

Have not received yet. But it should be almost equal size with Nexus 7. The main differences are connectors on top and backside camera

I'm in Bulgaria, Europe. I ordered http :// ww w.amazon.de/gp/product/B00D6GZDHA/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1" (delete spaces) but it says "not in stock" and i am waiting for message from Amazon..

Thanks, that explains it. Europe got the tablet a week or two ago, but it's still not in the U.S.
Hello again. I'm reporting after having some full days of experience with the tablet. It is flawless! Best value for that money. Still have not got my hands on proper accessories Amazon still haven't shipped the PersonaCover and the screen protectors haven't arrived yet.
I have a generic tablet question: Is there a way of using the front camera as a sensor to not dim/switch-off the screen? When i'm watching the screen it will not switch-off. Something like the build in sensor on the Galaxy S3?
Why there is no dedicated asus memo pad hd7 sub-forum?
I'm a bit new, but its kinda hard to look for the topics all around the forum!
Hi all, just bought a Chuwi V88 Titanium Ice Green tablet and I was wondering if I can use V88/V88s roms for it?
Because for over 2 and a half years this is my first post, I can't post straight to the rom thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2310818
Found an answer elsewhere: Maybe.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 4
Can someone confirm this please?
I've not tested any custom roms yet on mine. I'm still in the phase of growing a pair of balls because I'm too afraid of bricking it.
I'll give it a try right after someone confirms the roms made for classic v88 do work, or when I'm done waiting. Not sure if this little experiment with roms is worth £120.
The main problem is that like 3 people own this thing. Or at least the other ones do not post about it on the forums.
Haha, I understand what u mean.
There is the risk of bricking it, on youtube there is a vid showing how to unbrick a classic v88 shortening a couple pins on the pcb.
But again i'm not sure if this will work on the green version.
I dont know much about customizing firmware, but it would be great if a power optimised rom would work on it.
I will receive my new v88 at the end of this week and will see if i can root it to start with.
I was also hoping someone with more knowledge would have tried it. But like you say, seems like not many people own it yet.
It's starting to look like the custom roms might work after all! I'll wait for the latest CM10.1 rom before flashing.

Yeah, rom developer Oma confirmed that the hardware is the same and custom roms should work. Now it's just waiting until he releases that rom I've been waiting for.
It's now rooted, so atleast that worked. I had few problems when and after rooting and that's why I don't have that high hopes for a successful flashing.
Hello guys my first post in XDA although I kept track of Oma's thread for a while! Does anyone have any more news about the Titanium Ice model and custom roms? And one more question a little bit off topic but as you said very few people own it so maybe someone of them is around . I found the V88 in Music World seller from aliexpress claiming to have a black version of the V88 with OGS screen. Is this the Titanium Ice green model or something new? How can I know when I buy it?

I'm still waiting for Oma's CM10.1 Edition with phabletUI and multiuser support.
Just checked out that black OGS and it seems to be the same as the green one. At least specs are the same. Beware though, there seems to be some sort of problem with screen responsiveness at least with these Ice Green models. It's possible and even likely they've fixed that in newer models.
Somehow I managed to scratch my OGS screen. Actually there's three deep scratches. I don't know where or when this happened, but one thing's for sure: the screen does not exactly have Gorilla Glass' toughness.

I think the OGS is not gorilla glass its just a better screen than normal IPS but does not provide extra protection. I think I read somewjere about the problem with screen resposiveness...I think I'll just go with the V88S because there is not much info around for Titanium Ice. Thanks for the response!

Yeah, that's what I actually meant. It's far from Gorilla Glass' toughness. Although the screens do not have anything in common, I'd expect some sort of scratch protection these days. Maybe the extra layer in Classic V88/V88s protects the screen better, because I've not seen any similar complaints.
The "black" v88 from Music World seller on aliexpress is actually the Ice green version. I know because its the one i have.
bnhmmr, my screen has a screen-protector pre-applied. Its difficult to see, but there is a very thin plastic protector on top of the screen.
I think the scratches you made are on this plastic layer and not in the actual glass.
You can check by looking close to the border of the screen.

You're right, thanks for pointing this out! I thought I had peeled it off the first time I got my hands on it but that've must been the one with logos and some specs. Phew!
Responsiveness is still an issue even without screen protector applied.
Thank you guys. I think I'll go for the V88s then...seems there is more support for ROMs and less problems reported about the Wi-fi and screen responsiveness. I will have to sacrifice that 1 GB extra of RAM, better cameras and thinner design .

No probs! I think the rom support is the same for all v88(s)'s, but wifi and screen issues might be a deal breaker for someone. In daily use I rarely have any problems with neither one of those.
And the cameras are bad also in this OGS.
A new version of CM 10.1 with phabletUI is out . So you mean that all the OMA's ROMs work for the Titanium Ice green version? Has anyone tried that?

It's still an alpha version. I'm waiting for at least a beta with the few issues fixed the current version suffers. Someone confirmed that Oma's roms work and Oma himself confirmed they have the same hardware.
Can i install any CMW on a 2nd generation Chuwi v88?

Hey guys, my unboxing video is up!
Thanks for the video, looking forward to the full review. I've got one on (pre-)order from Gearbest. Please include some (graphics) benchmarks, a GPS test, and check the maximum cpu frequency as there seem to be a lot of poor perfoming 1Ghz MT6735 Socs out there. Allthough your preliminary Antutu score of 27.000 seems to indicate the MX Base is running at the full 1.3Ghz.

Thanks for the review, looks like a solid phone. Too bad about the IR Blaster and the mediocre camera. But no deal breakers for me.
I hope Gearbest get off their *ss and ship my phone out. Yesterday they told me it would be at least two more weeks, today they said one or two days. Fingers crossed it will be the latter.
Is it preordered item? And it's real shipping content without TPU case? As we know Mlais promised to add Glass screen protector AND TPU case, which isn't presented in latest video.

Yeah all depends on your luck. It can be shipped out in a day or 7 business days, and that's after they have stock.

Hi they also shipped me a TPU case, but I just didn't show it in the video, just the glass. It is in the unboxing video though.
There is an updated rom on the Mlais website, not much info on what has been addressed though;

I'm not power in chineese, but if you check file releasenote.xls inside of archive - there is some minor changes in camera settings (zero timeout, camera interpolation) and visual changes (wallpapers, encryption).
---------- Post added at 10:52 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:04 AM ----------
And another question - where gifts was placed - inside of Mlais box or simply attached in shipping package?
Well Gearbest kept their word for a change. My Mlais MX Base is on its way. Shipped via Netherlands Post, which has been pretty quick for me in the past (but then again, I live in the Netherlands, which might help).
Curious to find out if the screen protector and tpu case are included.

I think preorders have a much higher chance of getting it. Let us know whether you do get it, but I guess you can wile away the time eating butterkook and planting tulips

As the title says, my U11+ in translucent black arrived today.
Little bit of back story.. I've been using two phones before receiving this one, the Nexus 6P and the original Mi Mix. Loved the 6P for the last year but just couldn't deal with the terrible battery life, even after recently swapping the original battery out for a new one. I equally love the Mi Mix for the huge screen however the camera is shocking.
I live in China and preorders went live for the U11+ on 02nd November, the day the phone was announced. I ordered one straight away and the translucent model sold out in a matter of 30 minutes over here. Anyway, it arrived today and as you can see from the images, it's a beauty. I couldn't be happier with the phone and I've only had it for a matter of 6 or so hours.
Being the Chinese version of the phone, my only gripe is that I need to flash the Taiwanese firmware to get Google services etc functioning. Only problem is that the phone ships with S-ON (Security = ON) and, as far as I know, there is no way as yet to shift that to S-OFF so that I can change the CID number and flash Taiwanese firmware.
Any questions you have about the phone just leave them here and I'll go my best to get around to them.
Excellent! Great beauty!
Make sure you avoid using the packaged case if you want the phone live longer. On u11 it made impacts worse, tho protecting from scratches...
Two u11s here one with broken back glass... Since then fully clad in proper casing
Is there any pocket mode that disables accidental screen to wake while inside the pocket?

That's a good question to me as, although I have more than 6 cases for the u11 only one of them was a leather poach. Which since then I wouldn't use in itself because pulling from it I dropped one of the u11s we own at home..
I think a real folding case is a good solution but I don't have any, so can't give advice unfortunately. Also most folding cases somehow block the edge sense feature
@OP: can you please comment on the wifi reception on U11+? How much drain you see with wifi on and phone lying idle? I want this phone but HTC has not been best as far as wifi reception and battery drain resulting from it is concerned.
Hi Proto,
Can you try to run some Google installer package from HTC shop. Read on jd.com that you can install that for Google services. Currently I am on the fence too if I should buy u11+ in China or hk.

Hi Hemant,
Today I got Gapps working on the Chinese version. All Google apps are working flawlessly and this now feels like an international ROM. I have to thank Perfectionalism (a user on this forum) for making me aware of the gapps installer. I'll send the download link over to you in a PM.
The Translucent Black versions are awesome. I have heard from a Taiwanese blogger that, despite the U11+ has 30% more battery capacity (3930 vs 3000 mAh) than the U11 , but the U11+ only lasts longer than U11 by 10% in time by using PCMark program.
I am wondering if Prot02018 could please post some battery statistics to us? (particularly, Screen on Time), thank you.
Recd My Amazing Silver U11+. Don't want to hijack the thread but incase OP can't answer something i too will be glad to help
Is the fingerprint sensor covered by glass?
Also how is the vibration motor? Can you compare it with other device? Is it anything like the iphone/pixel 2?

Thank you for the update and very good to know its working. Got your PM too.
Now my Samsung S6 suddenly died and my wife is hell bent against me buying an HTC phone which is sort of a dying brand. She insists its better to buy an iphone 8 for that price rather than HTC phone or maybe even Huawei phone. Damn . Woman
Currently i am phoneless and using my wife's iphone 5s. So still pondering which one to buy hoping she would see send that HTC is not bad.
Also to those bought the phone is there any LCD bleeding issue like Pixel 2 devices. Lot of users of U11+ commented the same on jd.com / tmall. Would love to hear on this and battery.
Does the fingerprint sensor support gestures on it? For example, if you swipe down on it does it trigger the notification shade?

okay this might be differ from region to region, but can you please tell me all uninstallable apps ?
i really like HTC approach to use google apps instead of their own (almost no duplicate apps) but i need to know by how much you can remove that thin layer of bloat. want to make my u11+ as cloce to stock as possible
Also, can you please comment on the screen quality (how visible things are under sunlight, max brightness) and battery performance? The verdict from GSM Arena's review are rather disappointing in these two regards.

Yep me too want comments how device perform in both situation as first detail review from gsmarena is totally disappointing and unacceptable.
Also if can tell us and how perform compared to the previous device own like Nexus 6p and Mi Mix mention at first post.
Both battery life and outdoor visibility.
Is it better, the same or worst.
I read in gsmarena the battery life was not great. can you confirm or deny it ?
What do the Hong Kong / China / Taiwan users say about battery performance? Any complaints so far?
Hello,
I will buy the htc u11+ from hong kong. It will work on Europe networks?
Thanks
