New is not a problem for a popular model. The problem is that your phone is driven by a 64Bit CPU and thats actually a bad precondition if you want to mod your phone. As example I point at the HTC Desire 510 root method. Only way to root is to flash a modified kernel and once done you can't update any SU binaries as usual.
So atm it cant be done? So i assume i have a **** phone? Lol

Htc desire 620 and 620g are supported by one click root

I have unlocked the bootloader and granted the TEMPORARY root access with kingoroot. the thing is i cannot do the same permanently. maybe somebody can help?
I did the same procedure with kingoroot, and for me too, only temporary access as root, then the phone reboot and root access was lost.

We need a custom recovery for the permanent root or we can try the root method of moto E 2015 LTE, moto E lte has the same hardware of our phone

Will that temporary root access be enough to delete an annoying demo.apk app that launches every 2 minutes?

I'm sorry to tell you but no... this 'temporary root' is fine enough to turn off something from being started repeteadly (there is an option for that). But there is no way to temporary delete an app - after the crash which i mentioned every system apps that have been removed will back... I guess there is something in software blocking us from permanent changes. But - give it a try. I've turned off auto launch on start a lot of apps and that part is working fine. What exactly is demo.apk ? i dont even have that

yea, i'll try the method for moto... i cant develop a recovery just coz i'm not that talented... i know nothing about developing such things. And it seems that we won't get any help from crackers of this forum.
If there won't be any succesfull method until december i guess i'm just gonna sell this model and get something better.

WeakSauce and Firewater have been patched on the latest HTC builds, the current solution is SunShine http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2792487
WeakSauce is an exploit for some HTC devices. It will not work on all HTC devices, if it crashes or doesn't make su available, then it isn't compatible at this time, and I have no interest in adding compatibilitiy. At the time of release, I confirmed that it was compatible with the HTC One m7 & m7 on Verizon. Those are the only two officially supported devices. Yes it will work on other phones, and is worth a try. It will also crash on many, and some it will appear to work and won't. I am not fixing this at this time.
Since this app is just so easy to use, and I am tired of off topic posts, I am closing the thread. If you can not figure out how to use it, ask elsewhere.
This app may not be redistributed, integerated in a toolkil or script, or sold in any way.
It gains root, mounts a new xbin containing busybox, and su. While it is designed for the Verizon HTC One m7 and m8, it will work on other HTC devices as well. It is a crapshoot depending on both model, and sometimes on firmware version. This exploit will re-root your device each boot. You only have write access to /system/xbin with this exploit.
Donations for this project can be sent to -> [email protected]

Dr_Drache - lots of testing
Installation:
Install the WeakSauce app, run it hit agree.
Then install SuperSu from the market https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.supersu
On boot (well about 30 seconds after full boot), WeakSauce will re-root your device.
Unroot:
Uninstall app, uninstall SuperSu do a hard reboot (adb reboot)
Update:
Uninstall app, Uninstall SuperSu, do a hard reboot (adb reboot), reinstall app, re-root, reinstall SuperSu app.
Trouble shooting:
Uninstall WeakSauce
Uninstall SuperSu app
do a hard reboot (adb reboot)
reinstall WeakSauce
re run WeakSauce
reinstall SuperSu app
then ask for help on XDA (This means don't email me for help on this topic).
ChangeLog
1.0.1
Fixed supersu updating
Updated supersu su binary
Fixed replacing xbin at boot
Added more compatibility for older models
S-Off:
Gain root with weaksauce
use firewater (http://firewater-soff.com/)
uninstall weaksauce
flash custom recovery
flash supersu or superuser
Worked great!
Will be sending a donation your way soon!
Worked like a charm! I will send a donation to the email above after I post this

The "virus" are the root exploits.

Just keep in mind to replace the chinese super user by "SuperSU" to have it in your language

I used it before for motorola phones and "who wonders" nothing bad happened to the phone, my laptop or me As you got a really non common phone model, its the only root method I found so far confirmed as working.
May I ask which Antivirus Solution you're using?

Probably not, as long as you're rooted and deleted preinstalled apps. When a new firmware is released you can flash it, but OTA updates don't work i suppose.

Well here is a little info.
1.st Z4Root was abandoned because it DOESNT WORK on anything with Gingerbread or newer.
2.nd Z4Root was used as a temp root method to flash recovery to then flash SU, it is NOT a permanent root method.
3rd. This app will cause BRICKS due to its incompatibilities with any phone running newer software (GB+)
4th. You're not the dev of this app why post it?
5th. You should put a big disclaimer about the proper use of this app and provide the correct info on which phones it will work and it will not work.
6th also state there will be no support for this app since you're not the developer and it's been abandoned by the actual developer.

Ppl come on here and think these roots and rims magically appear they don't these guys take there own time to work these things and it's nice of them yes there not doing it with the promise of a pay check there doing it because they like the challenge I believe and to help ppl out the least we can do is give a donation to thank them for the time I'm not a developer I'm anyway don't know any except from here and other sites but I'm just saying we want someone to take time away from what ever else there fling to help with our phone let's make it worth it!
Get ahold of SHABBYPENGUIN he is good!
Scratch that can't be done ZTE patched the way it used to be rooted can't do it any more and good chance this phone will never see root that sucks but I opposed to donate to hey him to work on it and he says can'tbe done!
So is there just no one working on this phone or what?... I'd really like root, and anyone that can get it sorted out will get $10 from me

Will pay $$$ for a Grand X Max + Root!
I wish I knew how to figure out the root process for this phone, but unfortunately, I do not. However, I will also pay $10 to anyone able to figure out how to root this device. So far, that's $20 ($10 from previous poster [Muhff], $10 from me) that is offered to find a way for us ZTE users to root our phones! I'll sweeten the deal and pay $30 myself if I see a post in this thread that contains the solution before August 2015. If you know anyone on the site who may be able to figure it out, please spread the word about this. Thanks!

i believe you can do a full backup with adb/fastboot by opening cmd and saying
fastboot boot twrp.img
for example. then, you can open the backup file and find the recovery img in there as long as you still have the stock recovery.
I found it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2310682
It would be very very helpful to me (and anyone with this phone) if someone with the stock recovery and fastboot + adb on their computer could upload the stock recovery image to the internet.
Im not very expert in it myself, im sure if someone with real knowledge swoops by they could do this in a second.. provided they have the phone.

Thanks for the video! It worked. I'm a happy man.
@smilesintears77
You will need to install the TWRP.apk then boot into it. Via the power and vol. up buttons at the same time or use the TWRP.apk to boot into the recovery panel. Once booted into the TWRP recovery panel you will be able to install the su file.
I am working on a stock recovery image.
I just followed your video and it worked out. no problems.

Why is it so impossible to root the vs987 ?? Where are those Android experts ???it's been one year and me and many people stuck on the marshmallow + locked WiFi hotspot with the unlocked Verizon G5s !! Is there a hope ?

This platform was dead before it started. Sorry to say. They can't get root with a locked bootloader. Verizon won't do it.

There are many Android experts that could unlock the bootloader Right ? Is it how it works ??? If yes that means they could unlock it ..

My understanding, not as a programmer by any means...is that the phone needs to have an unlocked bootloader prior to even having the ability to gain root. If the service provider (Verizon) doesn't unlock this, root cannot happen in a traditional sense. Carriers such as T-Mobile have a root for this phone as they come with unlocked bootloaders. You wont see root on the Verizon variant.

no there isnt hope unless u figure it out the "experts" have tried time and time again
the bootloaders arent locked they are signed with a very special key that would take ever computer together in the worl roughly 200000 years plus to brute force into. verizon and att are the worst
now you all know. as said before if u wanted to root you should have studied before buying a "locked" device
if u want root either get a rootable device or figure it out on your own
as with the g4 there will more than likely never be root for these "locked" devices
not being an ass just the cold hard truth

they cant unlock the bootloader or it would have been done
lgs verity key prevents this through qfused motherboards highly encrypted partitions that the bootloader verifys and if one thing is off bam lg secure boot error.
which again is basicly hardcoded into the device.
no one is going to waste their time trying a 99.9% impossible feat
The phone is just not popular enough the Verizon Galaxy S7 I believe is unlocked for the bootloader. If the phone is popular enough a developer will work on it.

Has anyone ever tried one click root dot com ? They explicitly mention that they can root the vs987 variant. I'm willing to pay if someone can confirm me that it really works...

You need to be on marshmallow or have anti-rollback to be 0 which <1% of ppl have. Also, it's not a complete root, so although you have root permissions, it's unstable and you have no root manager (SuperSU/Magisk/etc.)
Root
